Chapter 166 Little Fatty's Body Disappears

This time I was smarter and didn't go up from the first floor.

Instead, they climbed up the drainpipe next to the house.

"Old Chen, be careful! If you sense anything's wrong, jump down! We'll catch you!"

Luo Tianhe shouted anxiously from below.

Below me were about ten people holding hands, forming a large "human-shaped" net to catch me at any time.

I grunted in agreement, and as I reached the second-floor window with the drainpipe in one hand, I pushed off and grabbed the third-floor windowsill with my right hand.

The window in Xiaopang's room was half open and the latch was not fastened.

I stood at the edge of the window and looked inside. It was pitch black, and I didn't dare turn on my flashlight, afraid of attracting Suqin's attention.

Using the dim light streaming in from the window, I looked toward where Little Fatty's body had been placed.

I was immediately stunned when I saw it.

Little Fatty's body has disappeared!

Strange, he was right here just now. He's not a living person, so how could he have run away?

Did I remember the location wrong?

I pulled the window open a little to the side, stuck my head in a bit, and squinted to look inside.

Except for the other side of the bed, which is not visible due to obstructed view, the other three sides are not visible.

Could it be that Little Fatty's body is on the other side of the bed?

"Old Chen, have you found it?"

Perhaps seeing that I hadn't been able to climb over the window for a while, Luo Tianhe anxiously shouted from the first floor.

I said the body was missing.

These words caused a sudden commotion among the crowd downstairs.

"The corpse is gone? Could it have turned into a zombie too?"

"I saw in a movie that people bitten by zombies will turn into zombies. Could it be that Little Fatty has turned into a zombie too?"

"What are we going to do? If Little Fatty turns into one of those terrifying things, our village will be doomed!"

"Don't scare yourself. Maybe it was carried away by something."

"Carried away? What could silently carry away a corpse? This is too eerie; I think it's a zombie apocalypse!"

"Perhaps... Suqin took it."

The crowd started talking, and their voices grew louder and louder.

"Stop talking nonsense!"

At this moment, Fifth Master stepped forward: "Although Suqin is a corpse that has turned into a zombie, she is not a zombie. Being bitten by her will not turn you into a zombie. Don't scare yourself."

As he spoke, he looked up at me and shouted, "Young man, go inside and take a look. Maybe Suqin dragged the body away. If you see them together, light the candle I gave you to lure Suqin down. I'll figure out what to do with Xiaopang's body later! But remember, the body must not be damaged..."

Before Fifth Master could finish speaking, I heard a rustling sound coming from the room.

I quickly gestured for them to be quiet.

The sound grew louder and louder, but I didn't know how to describe it.

It looks like they're doing laundry.

But Suqin has turned into a zombie, how could she possibly go to do laundry?

I gritted my teeth, opened the window completely, and used my hands to support myself on the windowsill as I climbed inside.

My hands were covered in a sticky liquid.

When I raised my hand, I saw that it was covered in the same dark green sludge that had seeped from Suqin's body, along with a lot of bits of flesh.

After climbing in, I stood still until I was sure there was no danger before slowly walking towards the bed.

When I got closer, I realized I wasn't mistaken; Little Fatty's body had indeed been lying here, but Suqin had dragged it away.

I followed the trail of blood on the ground and walked out into the corridor.

Then go up the stairs to the fourth floor.

In village houses, the fourth floor is generally not used for living because it is too hot and there is no insulation layer. Instead, it is used to store miscellaneous items.

What was Suqin doing dragging Xiaopang's corpse to the fourth floor?

I stood frozen at the top of the stairs, the eerie rustling sound still seeping into my ears intermittently.

Each sound felt like a sharp tug on my taut nerves.

calm!

Stay calm!

I took a deep breath, forced myself to calm down, pressed my back tightly against the rough wall, and slowly lifted my feet, taking each step with extreme care, afraid of making the slightest sound.

The soles of the shoes made a faint sound as they rubbed against the ground, which seemed particularly jarring in the deathly silence.

After finally getting to the fourth floor, I realized that the layout of this floor was strange. It was not a complete floor, but more like a three-and-a-half-story building.

To the left of the stairs, there was a small, cramped room with the door half-open.

To the right is a rooftop balcony.

The horrifying trails of blood and blackish-green slime on the stairs clearly pointed to the room on the left.

The room door was wide open, and it was pitch black inside.

In the dim light, I saw Suqin squatting on the ground with her back to me, her body swaying slightly, as if she was engrossed in doing something.

Little Fatty's body lay stiffly on the ground in front of her, motionless.

The strange rustling sound I had been hearing was coming from her.

Suddenly, Suqin's movements froze.

Then, she slowly stood up in an extremely stiff posture.

I was so scared that I quickly pulled my head back, pressed my back against the wall, and didn't dare to breathe.

*Smack*

Suddenly, a series of "smack-smack" sounds came from the room on the left.

That was the unique sound of footsteps on slime.

My heart jumped into my throat instantly—it was Suqin who had come out!

If I turn and run away now, I will surely alert her.

In that critical moment, I didn't care about the foul-smelling, sticky liquid beneath me. With a determined heart, I lay face down on the ground.
