As the light beneath my feet grew brighter, I knew the merchant's final curse was about to take effect.
"This person isn't scary because of their disgusting appearance; what's more, their methods are absolutely disgusting!"
The sound of lightning striking the sword echoed in my mind, and I couldn't help but complain after hearing it.
Then I looked at Yiyi and continued to discuss with the girl how to break the deadlock.
Yiyi took light steps and approached the coral that resembled a human hand, examining it closely.
Meanwhile, I was watching the girl from a rather comfortable perspective.
This feeling, however, made me feel refreshed and relaxed.
The tension, discomfort, and initial nausea from this battle have now largely subsided.
As the saying goes, a beautiful woman looks more and more radiant under the lamplight.
Although it wasn't under a lamp now, the sliver of light filtering through the seawater after the merchant fell was, in a way, a beacon in the silent depths of the ocean.
The girl in front of me, though not a conventionally beautiful woman, had a girl-next-door feel to her in this setting.
But the coral growing wildly and unchecked around us seemed to be bursting out of the sea.
Aside from these points, I find it hard not to agree with the statement that looking at beautiful women can make you more energetic.
"Yiyi, with your current strength, are you able to cut down these corals and seaweed as well?"
I looked at the girl with her head down and asked a question softly.
"Brother, this is no ordinary place. This place is probably a closed-off operation."
Yiyi frowned slightly, her gaze fixed on the lifeless coral in front of her.
After a moment's thought, she shook her head, a hint of helplessness and disappointment in her expression.
"A strange power permeates the area around this coral, no, around this entire seaweed. What I have left on me is probably..."
Then I realized that if I wanted Yiyi to help, I should at least wait until she regained her strength!
I recalled that when I was in the palace, the girl's power peak was exactly the opposite of the Huang family's, which meant that the Huang family was at their peak during the day.
The young girl, Yiyi, only reaches the peak of her abilities late at night.
But we're inside the Dragon Palace now, so we'll need time to assess Yiyi's energy!
I looked up slowly at the sea above, which seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see, just like the deep sky.
How can you know about changes in time and space?
However, I roughly estimate that it hasn't been more than a day and a night since I went into the sea.
When we first stumbled into the Dragon Palace, it was daytime, so perhaps it's nighttime now!
Although Yi Yi's energy is not as high as it was at its peak, it is definitely on the rise.
Thinking about this, I felt a bit emotional.
If only it were midnight!
That must be when Yiyi's energy is at its highest and her condition is at its best.
"Indeed, it's really a bit too much for you right now, Yiyi."
Immediately afterwards, I transmitted my thoughts to Lei Jijian in my mind.
Why can't we just cut all the coral in this area down in one go?
The lightning sword shook its tip helplessly.
"Master, I'm also somewhat powerless in this situation! These are huge swathes of things that just won't grow back after being cut down; it's simply an impossible task! Unless..."
Lei Jijian hesitated for a moment.
"Unless we find the source of this growth... or, find a higher dimension."
The lightning sword slashed at the entangled coral that had grown up to my knees.
There was a sense of dependence in his tone that I found quite rare.
That tone was just like the feeling I had when I met that mysterious senior at the Beast God Temple!
oh?
I continued thinking along this line of thought.
If what Lei Jijian said is true, it makes sense. If someone can get that level of power involved, they can certainly handle any changes in such a small sea area.
It goes without saying that the entire Dragon Palace has been assimilated by the merchants into an even more bizarre existence!
But we don't know how far we are from the Beast God Temple, so it's probably impossible.
No matter what, he was a senior figure who had a very close connection with the Thunder Strike Sword.
It's not surprising that such a being could be so unforgettable to Lei Jijian, and that it would be the first thing he thought of.
I thought about it, and it seems quite reasonable.
But I don't want to tell Yiyi about this.
At that senior's place, Yiyi turned back into a kitten right away.
Then wouldn't I be left with no one to command again?
Although the kitten helped me a lot back then, he gave me the feeling that he was both good and evil!
Sometimes I can't even tell which side the kitten belongs to.
On several occasions, whenever I obtained vines or similar items, this guy was always the first to come and steal them.
This makes it really hard for me to tell whether this guy is a friend or foe.
Just as I was hesitating about the Beast God Temple, Yiyi spoke up first.
"Brother, with my current abilities not yet fully developed, I'm afraid that forcibly severing something renewable could easily trigger something even more terrible."
What's even more terrifying?
Unfulfilled potential?
My eyes widened, and I was suddenly stunned.
What's going on?
Could she possibly know about the changes in time? Otherwise, how could she be sure that her abilities haven't fully recovered?
