West Street is a bustling street full of lively food stalls.
Street stalls lined the streets, filling the air with delicious aromas.
I know nothing about Liu Sandao. I don't know if he is a man or a woman, what he looks like, or how old he is. I can only ask around.
I walked up to a fruit shop.
The boss was sitting to the side, legs crossed, looking relaxed and content.
I stepped forward and politely asked, "Excuse me, do you know where Liu Sandao is?"
The boss looked up and glanced at me, his smiling face instantly turning impatient.
He waved his hand and said, "I don't know, I don't know, don't ask me."
I left in frustration and asked several more shops, but all I got were shakes of my head and negative answers.
Just when I was feeling a bit discouraged, a woman passing by noticed my anxious look and asked, "Are you looking for Liu Sandao?"
My eyes lit up, and I quickly and politely replied, "Excuse me, do you know where Liu Sandao is?"
The older woman looked me up and down and said, "Oh, you mean the guy who sells braised meat? He has his stall on that street over there."
I thanked her repeatedly and hurried in the direction she pointed.
From a distance, I saw a braised meat stall with several people gathered in front of it.
Upon closer inspection, the stall owner was a middle-aged man wearing a faded blue apron, his hair slightly disheveled, and his ordinary face showing a hint of fatigue.
He was intently slicing braised meat for the customer in front of him, his knife moving up and down with practiced skill, while he occasionally chatted with the customer.
I stood aside patiently waiting until all the guests had left before I stepped forward and called out, "Are you Master Liu Sandao?"
He looked up at me, a hint of doubt in his eyes.
I quickly said, "It was Master Jin who sent me to find you."
Upon hearing the name "Master Jin," he was taken aback at first, then frowned and asked, "Who is Master Jin? I don't know him."
It then dawned on me that we usually called him Jin Ye, and for a moment I had forgotten his real name.
It took me a while to remember, and I said, "Oh, Master Jin's name is Xuan Qingyi."
Upon hearing the name "Xuan Qingyi," Liu Sandao's already somewhat indifferent face instantly revealed a cold smile, a smile full of disdain and aloofness.
"I don't know. If you want to buy braised meat, hurry up. If you don't want to buy, don't ask around here and delay my business."
Seeing his aloof and unapproachable demeanor, I felt a little anxious, but I still patiently spoke again.
"Master, it really was Master Jin who sent me."
Liu Sandao then raised his head, his eyes filled with displeasure. He glanced at me and said coldly, "I told you I don't know. Hurry up and leave. Don't linger here."
Seeing his firm attitude, I gritted my teeth and decided to stand in front of his stall and not leave.
No matter what he said, I just wouldn't leave, staring straight at him.
Seeing this, the surrounding customers began to cast strange glances at them.
Liu Sandao's face grew increasingly grim, and he slammed the meat-cutting knife heavily on the cutting board with a loud "bang."
Somewhat annoyed, he said, "We haven't been master and apprentice for a long time. We went our separate ways years ago, and I lost contact with him a long time ago. You've got the wrong person. Get out of here!"
I seemed to see a deep-seated helplessness and complex emotions hidden in his angry eyes.
But at that moment, I was filled with doubt and just wanted to get more information out of him.
"Brother Liu, it's like this, Master Jin is dead, and his spirit came to me and asked me to come to you."
Upon hearing my words, a look of surprise appeared on Liu Sandao's face.
I thought he would ask me how Master Jin died, but to my surprise, he simply asked, "Is there anything else?"
Uh, this isn't what I expected.
I asked again, "Did he contact your sect?"
"Sect?"
Liu Sandao sneered, "The Lingxiao Sect has long been defunct in name only and has been absorbed into the government. What sect are you looking for?"
They were recruited?
I quickly asked, "Is it the Bureau of Paranormal Investigations?"
Liu Sandao looked me over with surprise: "You know about the Bureau of Paranormal Investigations?"
I quickly nodded and said that Master Jin had asked me to join the Bureau of Paranormal Investigations.
Before he could finish speaking, Liu Sandao waved his hand impatiently again: "Since I told you to find the people from the Bureau of Strange News Investigation, then go ahead. Why would I come to you? Just let them help you get rid of that filthy thing. I don't have the ability to help you."
I gasped.
So there really is something dirty following me?
I looked around, but I couldn't see the so-called dirty thing anywhere.
However, I was surrounded by people, and I couldn't tell which one was the dirty thing.
Could it be that Master Jin sent me to find Liu Sandao so that he could help me get rid of that filthy thing?
"Brother Liu, do you think Master Jin was killed by that filthy thing? Was it a man or a woman?"
"Bang!"
Liu Sandao was completely fed up with my questions. He slammed the meat cleaver heavily on the table again and roared, "Are you coming or not? Believe me or I'll kill you!"
After saying that, he turned around with a cold look in his eyes and continued to organize the braised meat on the stall.
Just then, another guest came over, and he immediately went to greet him warmly, leaving me standing aside.
Seeing his expression, I knew he wouldn't help me. Filled with disappointment, I turned around and prepared to leave.
Just as I turned around, a piece of clothing flew from behind me and landed at my feet.
