"What's going on?"
I suddenly sat up in bed, a sharp pain shooting through my head.
What exactly happened last night?
Where is this?
Why am I lying here?
Who took off my clothes?
Countless questions surged in my mind like a tide, making me feel restless and agitated.
I frantically looked down to check my body, groping around with my hands, but I couldn't find anything wrong.
Creator, why don't we have that membrane? Now I don't even know if I've been violated.
I rubbed my head, trying hard to recall what happened last night.
I can only vaguely remember drinking a lot of alcohol and getting so drunk that I lost consciousness. As for what happened after that, I can't remember anything at all.
It was then that I noticed the clothes were neatly placed beside the bed.
The clothes looked like they had been carefully washed. The places where they had vomited before the drunkenness were now spotless, the fabric was soft and smooth, and it smelled faintly of laundry detergent.
But I clearly remember that before I passed out, my vomit splattered all over my clothes and pants, leaving a mess of stains.
Who washed my clothes?
Lin Zimeng?
impossible!
Given her ruthless and unpredictable nature, how could she possibly be kind enough to help me with my laundry?
Just then, I heard a slight noise outside, like someone walking around, accompanied by a soft humming.
I quickly grabbed my clothes and put them on. The clothes were still slightly damp and felt cool against my skin.
I pushed open the door, and the blinding sunlight shot in like a sharp sword. I instinctively shielded my eyes with my hand and squinted for a while to adjust.
As my vision gradually cleared, I saw a woman in a beige dress busy in the yard.
The yard is filled with all kinds of flowers and plants, as well as a small vegetable garden with tender green vegetables, bright red peppers, and tomatoes climbing all over the trellis.
Sunlight bathed this small world, gilding everything with a golden glow.
The woman was holding a watering can and carefully watering the tomatoes.
Her long hair, as smooth as black silk, cascaded down her back, swaying gently with her movements.
A gentle breeze blew by, and her off-white long dress fluttered in the wind, outlining her graceful figure.
The sunlight shone on her, as if draping her in a golden veil, making her radiate a holy glow, like a fairy who had mistakenly descended to earth, so beautiful that one could not look away.
"Brother, peeking isn't a good habit!"
Just as I was engrossed in watching, a voice, tinged with a playful yet cunning tone, suddenly came from behind me.
I froze. Without even turning around, I knew it was Lin Zimeng just by hearing her voice.
Her appearance was like a boulder thrown into a calm lake, instantly shattering all tranquility and beauty.
The woman who was watering the tomatoes also noticed me.
Her long, delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly, a hint of displeasure flashed in her eyes, she let out a soft snort, and her face instantly turned icy cold.
But he didn't say anything, just turned his back to me and continued watering the tomatoes.
I turned around and looked at Lin Zimeng.
At this moment, she still had that signature innocent smile on her face.
But to me, that smile seemed eerie and sinister.
"Lin Zimeng, what exactly happened last night? And where is this place?"
I tried my best to keep my tone calm.
Lin Zimeng tilted her head, blinked, and her smile grew even brighter.
But what she said next sent chills down my spine.
“Brother, you were so funny last night. You got completely drunk, singing and dancing like a madman, and you even hugged me, crying and making a fuss. As for this place, this is my secret base, specially used to entertain distinguished guests like you, brother.”
She stretched out her fingers and gently twirled a strand of her hair, a hint of barely perceptible amusement flashing in her eyes.
"I held you and cried and fussed?"
I knew perfectly well that she was talking nonsense and deliberately teasing me.
But my memory of last night is completely blank, and I have no way to refute it. This sense of powerlessness makes me even more annoyed.
"What about my brother? Where did he go?"
I came to Sanjiapo with Luo Tianhe, but now he's nowhere to be found. How can I not be worried?
"You mean that older brother?"
Lin Zimeng covered her mouth and chuckled, a hint of mischief in her eyes: "He went out with that girl from last night, so you don't need to worry about him."
After saying that, she walked to my side with light steps, like a cunning little fox, and gently patted my shoulder with her seemingly soft and boneless hand.
The gesture seemed intimate, but it felt like I was being stared at by a venomous snake; goosebumps rose all over my body, and every hair on my body stood on end.
"Brother, don't be angry. As long as you listen to me obediently, I will tell you everything."
She leaned closer to me, almost touching me, and whispered in my ear.
The warm breath sprayed on my neck, which should have been comforting, but instead sent a chill down my spine.
I forced myself to take a step back, suppressing my disgust, to create some distance between us, while keeping a wary eye on her: "What exactly do you want me to do?"
Lin Zimeng smiled knowingly, then walked to a stone bench and sat down gracefully, placing her hands on her knees like a judge presiding over a trial.
“Brother, I know you’ve been searching for the truth, about why those people sided with Dr. Zeng, about the secrets hidden in this place. In fact, the key to these secrets lies within you.”
