Chapter 352 Entering the Bridal Chamber

The bride stumbled as Zhou Guilan pushed her from behind, causing her red veil to tilt to one side.

When the wine bowl was brought to my lips, I smelled a strange odor, like a rotten straw mat that had been soaked in rainwater for a long time.

Liu Sandao kept giving me meaningful glances.

I nodded to myself, pretending to drink, but then 'accidentally' spilled the wine.

"Oh dear! Is the groom so shy that he spilled wine?"

"I don't think it's shyness, it's just that they can't wait!"

"Since you're so eager, why don't we just go straight to the bridal chamber?"

"Alright, alright, let's go to the bridal chamber, let's go to the bridal chamber!"

Before I could even speak, someone suddenly pushed me from behind, and I stumbled into the bridal chamber.

With a loud bang, the door to the bridal chamber was slammed shut from the outside.

Zhou Guilan's laughter drifted in through the crack in the door.

"Hurry up and blow out the candles and go to sleep! A moment of blissful night is worth a thousand pieces of gold..."

Before she could finish speaking, a group of people outside burst into laughter, and Zhang the Cripple shouted at the top of his lungs, "Groom, stop dawdling! The bride is getting impatient!"

Two red candles were lit inside the room, their flames flickering in the wind, casting a warm yellow glow.

The bride sat on the edge of the bed, her red veil hanging down to her waist, the edges of the gold embroidery worn white.

She placed her hands on her knees, her fingertips holding a floral handkerchief.

Hearing my footsteps, she shrank back abruptly, and twisted her handkerchief even tighter.

I stood helplessly by the octagonal table, my palms sweating profusely.

The offering table was piled high with red dates and peanuts, like a small mountain.

"Um..."

I tried to find something to say to break the silence, but then I noticed the tips of the bride's embroidered shoes were trembling.

For a moment, I actually felt like this was my wedding.

Although they are a bit poor, the bride seems honest and down-to-earth. If they make do and live a stable life together, they might be able to settle down.

I shook my head vigorously.

What am I thinking?

I glanced at the bride with her red veil over her head, then pulled up a chair and sat down.

My mind was filled with Liu Sandao's instructions.

The female ghost must be stained with black dog blood before midnight.

If you see him come back covered in blood, don't open the door; that's not him.

After swinging the chain, he quickly ran southeast, where the 'Yang Fire Basin' he had buried was located!

And don't let anyone approach the bridal chamber before midnight, especially those wearing red veils!

As I was lost in thought, I suddenly saw the bride, who was sitting on the bed, stand up.
