Chapter 17 Diary

The money remained untouched in the passbook.

Huang Tao was already sobbing uncontrollably as he read, and the diary and bankbook slipped from his hands.

There's a photo in the bankbook!

When the passbook fell to the ground, a yellowed photograph fell out of it.

The photo shows a child sitting on a cloth tiger.

"It's...it's a photo of me when I was little." Huang Tao shakily picked up the photo from the ground.

However, when he turned the photo over, a line of strong, powerful penmanship pierced our hearts like a steel knife.

[The son of a comrade-in-arms should be treated as my own son!]

"dad!"

Huang Tao knelt on the ground and wept uncontrollably.

I sighed and said, "Your dad is downstairs. He said he's never blamed you! Why don't you go down and have a good talk with him?"

Upon hearing this, Huang Tao and his wife's expressions changed instantly.

"But my dad, my dad has been dead for seven days, today is the seventh day after his death!"

I paused for a moment, said nothing, just patted his shoulder hard, and turned to leave.

The middle-aged man was still waiting for me, but I wasn't afraid.

Without the [Earth Soul], I won't be afraid. Besides, I'm about to die anyway. We're all the same kind, so what's there to be afraid of?

Thank you!

The middle-aged man bowed deeply to me, then asked if his son was collecting his belongings.

I told them I was moving.

“I still have the clothes I wore on the day I died in my room. Take them from him and wear them, and those things won’t be able to find you.”

It was already 11:48.

I didn't dare to delay, so I said thank you and rushed upstairs.

When I arrived, Huang Tao was still crying while holding the photos and diary.

His wife gently comforted him from the side.

When he saw me return, Huang Tao wiped away his tears, looking terrified: "Brother, you... why are you here again?"

I asked him, "Is the clothing your dad said he was wearing the day he died here?"

Huang Tao nodded.

It was already 11:50.

"Dude, what do you need my dad's clothes for? We were about to burn them."

I didn't have time to explain to him, saying, "Please don't burn it, just give it to me!"

Perhaps noticing my pale face, Huang Tao didn't dare ask any more questions and hurriedly told his wife to go find some clothes.

Because the clothes and pants were all packed in several bags, it was very slow to find them.

Seeing his wife leisurely searching for clothes, I was extremely anxious, but I didn't know which one it was.

It was already 11:59, and I was sweating bullets.

Fortunately, just before midnight, his wife finally brought out a blue dress.

"Found it!"

I snatched it and put it on myself.

It was exactly twelve o'clock.

However, the next second, Huang Tao exclaimed in surprise.

"Not this one, I remember it was a black vest."
