Chapter 258 Meat Processing Plant

By the time I climbed over that iron gate, Old Sun had already vanished into thin air.

However, when the group of ghost security guards reached the iron gate, they seemed to be deeply wary of something and did not pursue them.

He just stood behind the door, looking at me with the eyes of someone looking at a dead person.

Could it be that there's something behind the door that even they fear?

I looked back and realized that this place seemed to be an abandoned processing plant, but I had no idea what it was used for.

Even knowing there was danger ahead, I was caught in a dilemma; I had no choice but to go in.

I gripped the kitchen knife tightly and walked step by step toward the building two hundred meters away.

The main door on the first floor was half-closed, and the ground was piled with wooden strips and broken tiles.

On the door, there were many words written in blood, as well as crooked yellow talismans.

For example—

Murder!

There's a ghost! Run!

You can't escape, nobody can escape, and so on.

Compared to the faded writing on the mottled wall, these words must have been deliberately written there later.

For example, some livestreamers who enjoy adventure want to create a better show.

Or perhaps the homeless man deliberately used supernatural tales to scare away other people who wanted to come here.

Upon entering the lobby on the first floor, it was completely empty; everything that could be moved had been taken away.

But there was a smell of rotting flesh floating in the air; I wondered if it was from dead rats.

I looked around, but I didn't see a single ghost.

"Brother Liu, are you there?"

He asked in a low voice.

Although I called out very softly, my voice echoed repeatedly in the empty hall, growing fainter and fainter.

"Brother Liu, are you there?"

"Are you there?"

"Are you there?"

"Ma!"

"I am here!"

Suddenly, a faint voice rang out.

The hairs on my body stood on end; it didn't seem like an echo.

I stopped and listened carefully, but the sound didn't come again.

It all seems like my imagination.

However, just as I stepped onto the second-floor stairs, I suddenly heard a "bang bang bang" sound from above.

"Bang...bang bang...bang bang bang bang..."

The impact sound was rhythmic, and it was unclear what was making it.

Holding onto the stair railing, I slowly walked up the stairs, and a splash of red appeared before my eyes.

I turned my head and looked through the gap in the stair railing. I saw a woman wearing a long red dress and barefoot standing at the top of the stairs.

He faced the wall and slammed his head against it again and again.

Red is considered inauspicious, and a female ghost wearing red is the most malevolent.

I stood at the top of the stairs, feeling conflicted, unsure whether to go up or go back down.

Are you late too?

Just when I was in a dilemma, she suddenly turned her head and looked at me.

be late?

Before I could react, someone suddenly jumped out from behind me.

He was wearing a suit, and his name tag read "Supervisor".

"Which department are you from? Why are you wandering around here without wearing a uniform?"

The voice was neither male nor female, and it made my ears hurt.

Is this guy mistaking me for an employee here?

I quickly explained that I was there to invest, and that I hadn't officially started working yet, so I was just observing.

I was going to say that I was there to apply for a job, but I was afraid he would ask me which position I was applying for.

I don't even know what this place is for, so how can I possibly explain it?

It would be better to say they're here to investigate investment opportunities.

Hearing what I said, he looked at me suspiciously.

"Investing while dressed as a sanitation worker?"

Hold.

I wish he would slap himself a few times.

I'm so ashamed of my own stupidity.

I'm still wearing my sanitation worker's uniform.

Fortunately, at that moment, he suddenly turned his head to look at the red-clad female ghost who had stopped hitting the wall and was listening to our conversation with a somewhat gossipy air.

"You dared to disobey orders! I'm going to dock your pay!"

The supervisor pointed at the woman in red and shouted, grabbing her head and slamming it against the wall repeatedly.

"Bang! Bang bang bang!"

That's terrible; even after death, they still have to be treated like cattle and horses.

Even if you stop to listen to some gossip, you'll be repeatedly punished by having your head grabbed and slammed against the wall.

Seeing that the supervisor wasn't paying attention to me, I quickly ran upstairs.

Having learned from my previous experience, I became smarter and threw away my sanitation worker uniform as soon as I reached the emergency exit at the corner of the stairs.

I was wearing a white shirt underneath and black trousers on the bottom. They were cheap, but they looked presentable.

The second floor is spacious, but it's chilly.

Even though there was no power, many large machines were still running.

But there was no one on the assembly line.

I know it's not that there are no people, it's just that I can't see them.

The thought that maybe after I die, I will be doing the same work as these cattle and horses, makes me sad.

But upon reflection, it must be because of the formation that they couldn't leave this place and couldn't be reincarnated.

I don't believe that these people, who were already exhausted from their lives, are still so excited to work overtime here after they die.
