Chapter 1387 Evil Array

At this moment, the rented room was deathly silent.

I activated my third eye, only to see a dense, impenetrable black aura.

My face immediately turned grim. The ritual might have already begun, otherwise there wouldn't be such a heavy yin energy.

"Oh, right," I said, taking the love knot out of my pocket and handing it to Li Huai.

"This was given to us by that old ghost. He said it might be helpful to us."

Li Huai took the love knot and marveled at it.

"Did that old man give it to you? The material looks like cinnabar thread. How could a ghost use cinnabar thread to weave things? I've really learned something new!"

I nodded. If this really is a cinnabar line, then the old man is truly extraordinary.

"Vermilion lines?" Upon hearing this, Luo Tianhe also came over to take a look, his brows furrowed.

"Ghosts hate cinnabar the most. That old ghost can use this to weave things, so his cultivation is probably deeper than we thought."

I tossed one of the love knots to Luo Tianhe and let him examine it closely.

"Alright, we can study this later when we have time. Let's go find Bai Yang first; there's no time to lose."

After saying that, I headed towards the rented room.

Luo Tianhe and Li Huai knew what was important and what was urgent, so they put the love knot into their pockets and followed me upstairs.

Just as Li Huai had just lamented, this house deteriorates very quickly once no one lives in it.

The wooden staircase that was perfectly fine last time I visited now creaks and groans as I step on it, as if it might collapse at any moment.

The three of us had to walk very carefully, especially when we got to the third floor, for fear that we would slip and fall.

Finally, we arrived at the door of Baiyang's rented house.

The door was tightly closed, and the eerie atmosphere inside was seeping out from the cracks in the door, making it impossible to know how serious the situation inside was.

As we approached the doorway, we heard Bai Yang's low, deep chanting coming from inside.

The voice was somewhat eerie, sometimes Bai Yang's own voice, and sometimes a more sinister, even malevolent, voice—that was Bai Yin's voice.

"This is it!" I lowered my voice, signaling Luo Tianhe and Li Huai to get ready.

We crept closer to the door, and the chanting grew clearer, accompanied by the rustling sound of something rubbing against the ground, and the soft "click" of bones colliding!

It should be that keepsake, the love knot woven from Bai Yang's hair and Bai Yin's remains.

I took a deep breath and winked at Luo Tianhe.

He nodded in tacit agreement, took a half step back, and then suddenly raised his foot and kicked the door lock with all his might!

Don't let Luo Tianhe's less-than-impressive physique fool you; he's incredibly strong, otherwise he could never have become the boss.

With a loud bang, the somewhat old security door was kicked open by Luo Tianhe, allowing us to see the scene inside.

The sight inside the door made our blood almost freeze instantly!

In the center of the living room, crooked magic circles were drawn with some kind of dark red powder, the composition of which was unknown.

The magic circle looked like a child's doodle, but it had an eerie feel to it.

At the center of the formation, there were several small, pale, thin bones, still wrapped in long black hair.

That should be Bai Yin's "heart bone" and Bai Yang's hair.

After taking a couple of glances, I felt completely absorbed in it, as if my very soul was being pulled out.

I immediately realized something was wrong, and I bit my tongue hard to bring myself back to my senses.

Then, without any hesitation, he kicked Luo Tianhe and Li Huai once each.

Caught completely off guard, the two nearly fell flat on their faces from my kick, but they both regained their senses afterward.

Li Huai rubbed his buttocks and grinned as he said:

"Brother Yan, did something just happen? I think I fell asleep."

"Don't be fooled by that formation, something's wrong with it!"

My voice was cold as I looked at Bai Yang in the center of the formation.

At this moment, Bai Yang seemed completely unaware of our arrival, kneeling on the ground with his back to us.

She was dressed in a plain white robe, similar to a burial garment, and her long hair was loose.

His left hand tightly gripped a strange concentric knot woven from tiny bones and some kind of black fiber, wrapped around black hair.

Her right hand was gripping a calligraphy brush, which appeared to be stained with thick blood, as she wrote something on a yellowed piece of paper.

As she wrote rapidly, her body trembled violently, as if she were having an epileptic seizure.

"Baiyang! Baiyang!"

Li Huai, Luo Tianhe, and I shouted loudly, but she seemed not to hear us.

I activated my third eye and saw a slender female figure lying on her back.

It's white yin!

At this moment, Bai Yin's dense Yin energy was almost tangible, like cold, venomous snakes tightly coiling around Bai Yang's limbs and body.

At that moment, her neck actually rotated 180 degrees, and she lay on Bai Yang's back, staring at us with a fierce and venomous gaze!

Seeing her venomous gaze, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger and burst into a tirade:

"She already gave you her life last time, but that ritual wasn't meant to resurrect you; it was part of your father's conspiracy!"

"If the ritual continues, your soul and Bai Yang's soul will both become nourishment for that monster's resurrection—no, it can't be called your mother!"

"In short, Bai Yang owes you nothing. You sinister ghost, it's already good enough that you can continue to eke out a living on her body. And now you're still causing trouble here!"

"I think you really should reincarnate!"

At this moment, the air was filled with a strong smell of blood, stench, and a strange fragrance.

I wrinkled my nose and sniffed, and immediately realized what it was!

Soul-Guiding Incense!

At the edge of the magic circle, three sticks of black incense were inserted, burning slowly, with the tips of the incense flickering with a ghostly green light!

As I cursed, Bai Yang's hand, which was writing runes, suddenly stopped, and her body began to tremble violently.

At the same time, she let out painful whimpers, as if she were fiercely struggling against another consciousness within her body.

The white shadowy figure behind her let out a sharp, piercing, and violent roar!

"Get out! Get out!!!" That was Bai Yin's voice, filled with a frenzied possessiveness and murderous intent.

I suddenly realized that perhaps Bai Yang wasn't trying to hide it from us, but rather that she was simply acting against her will.

We have consistently overlooked the extent of Baiyin's control over her.

Indeed, Bai Yin is a vengeful ghost who has harbored extremely strong resentment for more than ten years!

As for Bai Yang, aside from her strange fate, she was just an ordinary girl who had never even heard of ghosts before meeting us.

What abilities does she possess to fight such a ferocious ghost?
