Chapter 327 Controlling Ghosts

"ah!"

Xiaoyue screamed again as the newly applied sanitary napkin on her chest suddenly emitted bluish smoke, and the edges, corroded by the yin energy, quickly carbonized.

"Close your eyes and recite a calming mantra in your mind!"

I gripped the lightning sword tightly and swung it to cleave the oncoming net of hair.

A putrid stench assaulted the senses, and the severed hair writhed on the ground like living things, coalescing into a new attack.

Looking back, I saw Xiaoyue with her eyes closed, waving her hands wildly in terror, yelling, "Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!"

My head was spinning. I swung my sword to parry Mengmeng's sharp claws: "Nian, what are you standing there for?"

The lightning sword collided with her bluish-black fingernails, sending sparks flying.

"I... I don't know how!"

Xiaoyue's tearful voice was almost drowned out by the female ghost's screams.

My heart tightened, and I dodged the long, black-haired whip that swept towards me.

The ends of her hair brushed against the hem of her clothes, instantly corroding the fabric and creating large holes.

Listen carefully!

I took a moment to form a sword incantation and loudly proclaimed, "Supreme Star Platform..."

Before I could finish speaking, Mengmeng suddenly sprang up, her ten fingers transforming into sharp claws as she aimed straight for my face.

I leaned back to avoid it, and my lower back slammed hard against the bedside table, making me gasp in pain.

"Never stop responding!"

I seized the opportunity to grab Xiaoyue's wrist and press her palm against my chest: "Feel my heartbeat, chant along with the rhythm! Exorcise evil spirits and bind demons."

Before I could finish speaking, a strand of black hair coiled around my ankle like a venomous snake.

The instant I swung my sword and cut through, Mengmeng had already closed in on me.

I shoved Xiaoyue away abruptly. She stumbled and bumped into the wall, but finally managed to stammer, "Protect... protect my life..."

The moment the spell was cast, a faint warmth emanated from Xiaoyue's body.

The sanitary napkin on her chest moved automatically without any wind, and the blue smoke stopped spreading and instead condensed into tiny specks of light.

I was overjoyed and my sword strikes became even faster, slashing all the black hair that was entangled around her into charred ash.

"Wisdom is clear and bright! Mind is at peace! Recite aloud!"

As the words accumulated, Xiaoyue's voice gradually stabilized, and a semi-transparent light appeared around her, as if she were shrouded in a thin veil.

The female ghost seemed to sense the threat and suddenly abandoned me, turning to Xiaoyue, her sharp claws tearing through the air and stabbing straight at her throat.

At the critical moment, the faint light suddenly shone brightly, forming an invisible barrier.

The female ghost's claws slammed into the barrier, producing a sharp sound as glass shattered.

Her shriek, filled with shock and rage, made the windowpane rattle.

"It works! Continue!"

I shouted and unleashed a bolt of lightning, but caught a glimpse of something unusual in the corner of the wall.

The severed black hair did not completely disappear; instead, it seeped into the cracks in the floor and merged with the yin energy seeping from the cracks in the wall.

"Watch out! She's absorbing the yin energy here!" I swung my sword to cleave through a new wave of attacks.

The lightning from the lightning sword shattered the rotting hair into charred ash, but then even more black hair surged in like a tide.

Damn it, I knew I couldn't kill him no matter what I did, and I couldn't even cut his hair.

As soon as he finished speaking, the room temperature plummeted.

The windowpane was covered in white frost, and the ghostly figure of the female ghost continued to expand in the yin energy.

"Quickly open all the windows!"

I quickly drew an exorcism talisman on my palm and slapped it on Mengmeng's forehead.

Xiaoyue stumbled and rushed towards the window, her Crocs slipping on the floor covered with medicine residue.

As soon as she opened the first window, the night breeze, carrying the scent of mugwort, rushed into the room, and the gloom that had accumulated in the corner was blown away like a thick fog.

Suddenly, the sound of fingernails scratching came from the ceiling, doors, and windows.

The ghostly figure twisted and swelled in the shadows, its rotting mouth stretching to its ears: "Trying to run? Too late!"

Before she finished speaking, three thick strands of black hair shot out like giant pythons, two of which wrapped around Xiaoyue's ankles.

The other knife was aimed straight at the back of her neck.

I leaped into the air, using the Thunderstrike Sword to cleave the hair wrapped around my neck. But the severed hair suddenly split into countless tiny tentacles, crawling up my arm along the blade.

The putrid slime burned my skin. I gritted my teeth, swung my sword, and unleashed a burst of electricity, blasting the tentacles into black fragments.

"Master, save me!"

I turned my head and saw that Xiaoyue was being dragged towards the ventilation vent, and the sanitary napkin on her chest was emitting blue smoke under the influence of the yin energy.

In her panic, she grabbed the windowsill, her fingernails scratching five white marks into the wood.

A wisp of black smoke rose from above Mengmeng's head, but I could tell it wasn't the complete form.

The female ghost was cunning and didn't dare to come out completely.

The split-off half of the phantom suddenly transformed into thousands of strands of hair, raining down on Xiaoyue's back like a storm.

I grabbed a wooden stool from the corner and swung it hard. Wood chips flew everywhere, and the stool was corroded with countless holes.

When I turned my head again, I saw that Mengmeng, who was possessed, was standing in the middle of the room.

Its bluish-gray skin was covered with worm-like veins, and its cloudy eyes turned toward us.

"ah!!!"

She suddenly shouted, and the whole wall seemed to shake, as if an earthquake had struck.

The murals and stickers hanging on the wall all turned into sharp paper blades and attacked me.

I grabbed Xiaoyue and rolled around to avoid her.

The paper blade grazed past my ear, cutting a deep crack in the wall.

"Don't look into her eyes!"

I caught a glimpse of the black mist churning in Mengmeng's pupils and suddenly remembered the lesson I learned at the psychic shop.

Could it be that she also wants to possess Xiaoyue's body?

The female ghost seemed to sense my intention and controlled Mengmeng's ten fingers to grab at me like hooks.

I dodged to the side and grabbed her wrist with my other hand, but was jolted back three steps by a tremendous force.

Her skin was as cold as ice, and a half-rotten exam admission ticket pattern was clearly imprinted on her palm.

At the critical moment, I quickly formed the "Palm Thunder" hand seal.
