Chapter 1352 Trying to seduce me?

We soon arrived at the building. I looked up and saw that none of the lights on on the entire third floor were on.

But I felt a sense of being watched, as if something was observing me.

I didn't tell the three of them; telling them would only increase their fear.

As we entered the building, the motion-activated lights turned on in response to our footsteps, but then flickered on and off, as if they were malfunctioning.

Zhao Ming was so frightened that he followed closely behind me, breathing rapidly.

When he reached his front door, Zhao Ming trembled as he took out his key, but he couldn't get it into the lock several times.

I took the key, gestured for them to step back half a step, and then took a deep breath, turning the key while secretly holding a "talisman to ward off evil spirits".

"Click." The door opened.

A warm, even rich, aroma wafted over, completely different from the fishy smell I had detected downstairs.

The room was brightly lit, and a lighthearted variety show was playing on the television. Everything seemed so normal and so cozy.

I couldn't help but frown; something was definitely amiss.

After thinking for a moment, I took out a calming talisman, put it in Zhao Ming's hand, and whispered the instructions:

"Hold on tight, and don't let go of it under any circumstances. It will keep you alert and at least make you less easily fooled."

Zhao Ming nodded silently.

As we entered the living room, a beautiful figure dressed in casual home clothes and wearing an apron emerged from the kitchen, seemingly having heard us.

Her face held just the right amount of surprise and joy, her eyebrows curved, and her skin appeared fair and translucent under the light, showing no trace of the eerie quality Zhao Ming had described.

"Zhao Ming? You're back!" Her voice was soft and sweet, with a hint of reproach.

"Honestly, where have you been these past two days? You didn't answer your phone, I was so worried about you." She turned to me and Li Huailuo Tianhe, asking with some curiosity:

Who are these three?

Zhao Ming stood frozen in place, his lips trembling, unable to utter a single word, clutching the calming talisman tightly in his hand.

I took a half step forward, a smile spreading across my face:

"Hello, we are Zhao Ming's friends. He's not feeling well today, so we're giving him a ride home."

This vixen is putting on airs as soon as she sees us. I'd like to see what tricks she's up to.

"Oh my, so you're Zhao Ming's friend! Please come in, please come in!"

Hearing my casual ramblings, the vixen greeted me warmly.

"Zhao Ming, really! You didn't even tell me your friend was coming. I didn't prepare anything nice. Luckily, I made some soup. Let's have some to warm up, shall we?"

As she spoke, she turned and went to the kitchen to ladle out soup. Her demeanor and tone were exactly like those of an ordinary woman who cared about her boyfriend and was hospitable.

When we were downstairs, none of the lights on the third floor were on. Now the food is ready. Are you kidding me?

Zhao Ming also realized this, so his expression was extremely ugly.

He knew that if he hadn't had the calming talisman in his hand, he probably would have been fooled by the fox spirit's few words.

"Don't eat what she brings out later."

As I walked into the living room, I didn't forget to turn around and give them a few more instructions.

"Nonsense, who would dare eat that kind of stuff? But this vixen is really hot, even more flamboyant than those DJs in Brother Luo's bar."

Li Huai kept talking as he walked towards the living room.

I glared at him.

"What? You want to try playing with a fox too? Yes, if you want to play, you'll have to ask Zhao Ming for permission first."

"Hey, what are you saying? You can't mess with a friend's wife. Besides, I'm a very conservative person. A fox should be considered an animal, right? Isn't that... you know?"

Li Huai's eyebrows danced with excitement.

Zhao Ming gave a wry smile.

"Don't try to distract me. I was blinded by greed at the time, no, this vixen bewitched me with her magic."

The three of us sat in the living room, and soon the vixen brought over a large pot of steaming soup.

She slapped her forehead.

"I didn't know so many people would come. Should I go and prepare two more dishes?"

As she spoke, she turned and went to the kitchen, as if she really was going to cook for us.

I grimaced and looked at the pot of steaming soup. I opened my third eye and saw that it was indeed disgusting to look at, making me almost throw up my dinner from the night before.

"No need for that," I said, stopping her, my gaze seemingly casually falling on her face.

“We’ll just sit for a bit and then leave. Zhao Ming said he hasn’t been getting enough rest lately, so we came to check on him.”

She stopped, turned around, and her smile remained, but something seemed to flicker slightly deep within that smile:

"Yes, he's been a bit tired lately; he's been working too hard."

She walked to Zhao Ming's side and naturally reached out to take his arm, her tone filled with concern.

"I told him not to work so hard."

I sneered from the side. Zhao Ming has been so listless lately, like a grandson. Isn't that all thanks to you? And you're still saying things like that.

Seeing the vixen reach for his hand, Zhao Ming jerked his hand back as if he'd been electrocuted, his face turning deathly pale.

The fox spirit's hand froze in mid-air, her smile instantly freezing. She feigned confusion and asked pitifully, "Zhao Ming, what's wrong?"

Haha, it's a real shame you don't pursue a career in the entertainment industry with such talent.

I sneered inwardly. Seeing that Zhao Ming was terrified like a grandson and showed no intention of speaking, I took over the conversation.

"He's probably just too tired."

Then I asked, pretending it was casual:

"I heard that Zhao Ming and you have a very good relationship, and you are a perfect couple. The three of us are very envious."

The fox spirit turned her gaze to me, her eyes instantly softening and becoming alluring, her gaze shifting as if holding a thousand unspoken words:

"Yes, Zhao Ming is very good to me."

She gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear; this simple gesture, when performed by her, was full of alluring charm.

"What's your name, sir? You seem quite special."

An invisible, alluring spiritual force rippled towards me like waves.

This is the fox demon's innate allure, directly targeting human desires.

I silently recited a calming mantra in my mind, my mind became clear, and I still had a faint smile on my face: "My name is Chen Yan, a lowly wage earner."

I deliberately ignored her suggestive look and instead looked at the potted plant in the corner of the living room.

"Sister-in-law, your pothos is growing very well; it's full of life."

The fox spirit, seeing that her charms had no effect on me, showed a hint of surprise in her eyes, but her smile remained unchanged, and then she looked at Li Huai.

"And this one?"

"Hello, my name is Li Huai. I like playing King of Glory, and my favorite character is Daji."

Li Huai smiled and said something that seemed to have a hidden meaning.

The fox spirit's smile faded slightly, and the atmosphere became subtly tense for a moment.

Just then, she seemed to trip over something, let out a soft cry, and slumped down towards where I was sitting.
