"You're asking for it!"
The hanged ghost let out a shrill scream, then opened its mouth, and a blood-red, swollen tongue stretched out two meters long, coiling around Li Huai's neck like a python, trying to hang him up.
"Holy crap! Brother Yan, save me!"
Li Huai's face turned deathly pale. He cried out and grabbed the blood-red tongue from his neck with both hands.
The copper coin-patterned garment beneath his coat gleamed, but it couldn't deter the ferocious hanged ghost.
My expression changed. This hanged ghost was much fiercer than I had imagined. Seeing that Li Huai's eyes were rolling back, I pulled out a three-edged bone needle and stabbed it hard into her blood-red tongue.
"Sizzle~"
White smoke rose, and the hanged ghost retracted its tongue as if electrocuted, its venomous eyes turning to me.
I gave a cold laugh:
"If you dare stick your tongue out again, I'll sew your mouth shut!"
At that moment, I was all bark and no bite; I was just putting on a brave face to scare her.
I just ran all the way here, and my calves are trembling slightly. My hands holding the triangular bone needle are also incredibly sore.
The hanged ghost glanced fearfully at the three-edged bone needle in my hand, seemingly extremely wary of it, before slowly disappearing into the darkness.
"Huff, huff."
Li Huai lay on the ground, panting heavily.
Luo Tianhe patted his back, "I told you not to show off. Don't take on a job you're not qualified for. I thought you were so cool just now, but in the blink of an eye you've been hung up by a ghost's tongue. Without Chen Yan around, you would have become a hanged ghost!"
I forced myself to remain calm; my current composure was all an act. I could feel the hanged ghost watching me from the shadows.
"Come on, let's go inside. I'm going to wash my wound."
I walked down the corridor. This hanged ghost was full of malice. Although there must be other ghosts ahead, there might be room for maneuver.
Once this hanged ghost discovers my weakness, he'll probably be a real handful.
As we walked, I said to Li Huai:
"Next time you discover that someone is a ghost, don't point it out directly. Some ghosts still think they are alive and human, so they won't actively harm you. But once you point it out, they will become furious!"
Li Huai had recovered by now. He scratched his head and said somewhat embarrassedly:
"Brother Yan, I understand what you're saying. I acted impulsively just now, and I thought..."
"You think that ghost is easy to bully, right? The ghosts at Anning Girls' High School are all incredibly evil, none of them are ordinary."
Luo Tianhe picked up the conversation.
"Yes, that's right."
A female voice echoed in agreement.
I froze instantly and subconsciously looked at Bai Yang.
She was the only girl here, and I desperately hoped that it was Bai Yang who spoke just now, because her voice didn't sound like it was from a sore throat or anything else.
But Bai Yang's face was also full of confusion and fear.
She knew she hadn't spoken, so who had?
I turned my head to look at the source of the sound and saw a distorted figure following behind Li Huai and Luo Tianhe.
Her body was completely folded in half, with her chest pressed against her thighs, like half a person.
Logically, I shouldn't be able to see her face at all in this position, but I did because her neck was turned a full 180 degrees!
Luo Tianhe and Li Huai then realized that there was something following them around.
They both exclaimed "Holy shit!" and I could hear that their "Holy shit" even had a hint of crying in it, clearly they were quite frightened.
"I overheard your conversation. Tell me, am I a human or a ghost?"
She spoke softly.
I swallowed hard. If my body were folded in half like that, and my neck was twisted 180 degrees, and I was still considered human, I'd eat shit while standing upside down!
But being under someone else's roof, I twitched my lips, forced an awkward smile, and said dryly:
"You are a human being, of course you are a human being."
"I think so too, but why does my neck hurt so much, and my whole body hurts too?"
The female ghost's face, which had been relatively calm, gradually became ferocious, and blood began to flow from her seven orifices; she was clearly about to go berserk.
"You, you probably have a stiff neck, as for your health,"
My scalp tingled, and I tried desperately to think of a reason. I had no strength left; I just wanted to buy myself as much time as possible.
"Your physique must be the result of dance training! You can tell at a glance that you have exceptional dance talent, and your flexibility is also very strong."
I suddenly noticed that she was wearing dance shoes, and a thought struck me.
After hearing my words, her madness gradually subsided, and a smile even appeared on her pale face:
"That's right, I have a special talent for dance, that's what all my teachers say. I will practice hard and get into the best art academy in Kyoto."
"Our dance studio is just ahead. Come watch me dance!"
She extended a warm invitation, and we exchanged glances, not daring to refuse, and followed her into the dance studio.
Upon entering the dance studio, a strong, nauseating stench of blood, mixed with the smell of stale dirt and sweat, violently assaulted the nostrils.
The smell was so real, it was sticky and clumped in my nostrils, and my stomach churned instantly.
The scene before them made Luo Tianhe and the other two vomit.
This doesn't look like a dance studio at all; it's a slaughterhouse!
The wooden floor had long lost its original color and was covered with a thick, viscous layer of dark red blood plasma.
Scattered all around were unrecognizable limbs and broken pieces.
A pale, swollen forearm lay forlornly not far away, its fingers still in a spasmodic clenching position.
Further away, a dozen long, slender legs looked like discarded dolls, twisted at extremely unnatural angles.
The most shocking thing was that in front of the full-length mirror directly in front of us, there were seven girls' heads neatly arranged.
It's clear they were all stunning beauties in life. But now, the frozen expressions on their faces are utterly twisted and grotesque, their eyes filled with extreme terror.
The folded female ghost remained oblivious to all of this, completely ignoring the vomiting individuals and the blood-soaked stage.
"I'm going to start." She turned her face 180 degrees and gave us a shy smile, her bones making a teeth-grinding "creaking" sound.
There was no background music; the only sounds that could be considered accompaniment were the vomiting sounds of Luo Tianhe and the other two, and my heavy breathing.
Suddenly, she began to "dance".
That couldn't be called dance at all; it was a frenzied, suffocating distortion!
Her body was like a book forcibly closed, impossible to open no matter what.
Luo Tianhe and the other two finally finished vomiting, and then watched her performance in silence with me.
She seemed very absorbed, as if she were truly dancing, and even suddenly smiled proudly and said:
"My teacher always praises my movements for being perfect, especially this backbend."
