Chapter 380 Tattoo

Faced with the old woman's attack, I wanted to use the Thunder Strike Sword to fight back.

However, I've found myself to be far too weak right now.

I hardened my heart and had no choice but to run.

But there's nothing around. Where should I run to?

My gaze fell upon the basin, and suddenly Luo Tianhe's image appeared in the water.

"Old Luo, I'll trust you one more time!"

I gritted my teeth and, without hesitation, stuck my head in.

Only by putting yourself in a desperate situation can you survive!

The moment I inserted it, I could feel that the feeling of being unable to breathe was completely gone.

My body felt a sense of smoothness I had never experienced before.

And that sense of danger had completely vanished.

Then, my body entered the copper basin. I don't know how much time passed, but a hole appeared in front of me, which was where Old Knife was hiding.

Looking at the scene before me, I touched my pocket again, and the eagle owl inside had turned back into betel nut.

I'm fairly certain that I'm back.

I went inside as before, and Old Knife was right in front of me.

"You, you're Brother Chen?"

Old Dao looked at me with a question in his eyes. After scrutinizing me for a while, he nodded and said, "Yes, it's Brother Chen, no doubt about it."

Old Dao didn't ask me why I looked like this; he just handed me a cigarette.

"Old Dao, to make a long story short, is there any other information about Fox Village?"

Old Dao lit a cigarette for me, and I took a deep drag, blowing smoke rings into his face before asking the crucial question.

Old Dao shook his head: "No, Brother Chen, I've been thinking about it ever since you left, but I still can't figure it out. Don't worry, if anything happens, I'll let you know immediately!"

Old Dao looked innocent, as if he really didn't know what had happened.

But I sneered. Having experienced the illusion before, I realized that what Lao Dao knew was definitely not that simple; there must be something he was hiding from me.

"That doesn't make sense, for example, summoning the Owl God in seven steps?"

I raised my voice to remind Lao Dao.

"Seven, seven steps to summon the Owl God? That seems to be a legend from Fox Village!"

Upon hearing this word, Lao Dao suddenly felt a splitting headache, as if he was trying hard to recall it.

I frowned, looking at Lao Dao's expression; it seemed he wasn't deliberately hiding anything.

For some reason, he couldn't quickly recall the information about the seven steps to summon the Owl God.

"Brother Chen, I know this, but I don't know why, but whenever I think about these things, my mind gets really confused!"

Old Dao was about to crack open his skull.

That pained expression didn't seem faked.

Then, Lao Dao knelt down in front of me with a thud, grabbed my leg, and said, "Brother Chen, do you think I have amnesia? There are many things that I seem to have forgotten."

I gave him a strange look, rolled my eyes, and asked if he remembered that I was his father.

The old knife expert actually thought about it seriously for a while, then shook his head solemnly, indicating that he didn't remember.

"Brother Chen, I've always had a strange feeling. I feel like my memories have been tampered with. There are many gaps in my memory, but I don't know exactly what happened."

After thinking for a while, Lao Dao gave a more plausible answer.

"Brother Chen, this place must have been mentioned by a master, but every time I try to tell you, I get a terrible headache."

As soon as Lao Dao finished speaking, he buried his head in his hands and burst into tears.

I looked at Lao Dao and agreed with his answer. Judging from Lao Dao's appearance, he seemed to have actually experienced this kind of magic.

However, it doesn't seem like memory alteration; it's more like someone sealed away a part of Lao Dao's memories.

Who is it? Wu Zhiguo? Probably not. If it were Wu Zhiguo, he could have easily killed Lao Dao instead of what happened.

Unexpectedly, a second force has gotten involved in this matter.

What exactly is his purpose? Does he not want me to investigate?

Or are you trying to lure me into investigating further?

Suddenly I remembered the betel nut in my pocket. I took it out, wiped it, and stuffed it into Lao Dao's mouth.

Old Dao obediently chewed twice.

Soon, Lao Dao was no longer in so much pain.

"So, Lao Dao, have you remembered anything?" I stared at Lao Dao, watching his reaction.

"Looking back, it's not so painful anymore. Brother Chen, the expert who sent me here seems to be one of Brother Luo's men. Anyway, he's the one who helped me find this place."

Old Dao looked very serious.

Upon hearing Lao Luo's name, I couldn't help but lean forward.

Having known Luo Tianhe for so long, I really didn't know that Lao Luo had such a master by his side.

I remembered the old man who gave me the betel nut.

"Is it an old man?"

All I can see in my mind is the old man's image, but I can't remember where I've seen him before.

"I can't tell. The voice doesn't sound like it. The body is shrouded in a black robe, so I can't see what he looks like. But judging from the voice, he's probably around the same age as Brother Luo?"

Chewing betel nut, Lao Dao spoke more fluently.

I'm even more certain that the mysterious old man is related to what's happened to me recently, and also to Lao Luo.

It must have been this master who gave Lao Dao instructions, but for some reason, he cast a spell on Lao Dao.

That's what made Lao Dao look like this.

At the same time, it cast an illusion on me, allowing me to learn some things about the Fox Village, and gave me a key.
