"Forehead!"
I didn't know what Lao Dao meant. I picked up the bottle again, looked at the liquid inside, and felt a chill run down my spine.
Based on what Zhang Yongnian said, I speculate that it contains malevolent energy or resentment. If I were to actually drink it, I'm not sure what would happen to me.
"Brother Chen, trust me this once, I won't hurt you!"
Old Dao sensed my hesitation and quickly continued.
I thought about it, and Lao Dao was able to drink that kind of stuff back then, so compared to that, it doesn't seem like a problem for me to drink a little bit of evil energy.
Trusting Lao Dao's opinion, I swallowed the thing without saying a word.
It was surprisingly sweet at first taste, and the originally viscous substance became smooth in the mouth.
But then something felt off. I felt something scraping against the back of my neck.
It's like someone is using a boning knife to constantly scrape the bone at the back of your neck.
It was a cold and somewhat painful state. Fortunately, I wasn't afraid.
I gritted my teeth and drank all the liquid in one gulp.
After I finished drinking, Lao Dao plopped down on the sofa, as if he had let go of his previous obsession.
"Brother Chen, are you alright?"
After Lao Dao sat down, he asked me with concern.
I shook my head. Although I have this problem in my neck, I feel very good right now. At least I don't have this obvious reaction to other problems in my body.
Afterwards, I sat down next to Lao Dao and described that feeling to him.
"Brother Chen, I don't understand either. I just had a feeling that this is the right way!"
Old Dao was a little embarrassed and told me that the reason he reminded me was because he felt that it should be done that way.
Old Dao made me laugh. I never imagined that the reason this bastard reminded me was just because he felt it was possible.
"Brother Chen, look in the mirror!"
Just as I was about to start cursing Lao Dao, Lao Dao suddenly reminded me.
As we entered the courtyard, that resentment lingered on both me and Lao Dao.
I picked it up and sure enough, I found a small mark on the mirror.
I quickly used my clairvoyance to check, and to my surprise, the mirror was covered with white lines.
It's that resentment.
"Alright, come out and talk!"
I tentatively shouted at the mirror.
Sure enough, the next second, a woman emerged from the mirror.
"Tell me, what injustice have you suffered?"
I noticed that the woman's tone was indifferent, so I asked her.
When the woman saw me, she immediately knelt down.
"Immortal, I did not mean to disturb you! Please do not take offense!"
The woman immediately knelt down, almost kowtowing twice.
"It's alright, I'm not blaming you. This is my job!"
I shook my head and offered gentle words of comfort.
The female ghost in front of me is dressed in white, which is the classic female ghost skin.
He speaks very pleasantly, almost like a voice actor, or someone whose voice has been processed by a sound card.
"Immortal, I can't recall the specifics of the injustice, but I remember that my father was a beast! He must have killed me, and then..."
At this point, the female ghost burst into tears.
There's a big question mark above my head.
What kind of outrageous plot is this?
That old Cao looks respectable, but when he gets down to business, he's completely unlike a human being!
"Brother Chen, this is a bit outrageous!"
Before I could even speak, Lao Dao chimed in, "Eating melon seeds is indeed the happiest thing in the world."
It's not just Lao Dao who thinks it's outrageous; I think it's outrageous myself.
Even authors who write special content on certain websites wouldn't dare to do this!
As Lao Cao just mentioned, he only has a son, not a daughter, but his son is no longer with us.
I was suspicious from the beginning, and now it seems that my suspicion was correct; Lao Cao was lying.
"So, your memory is incomplete?"
I frowned, sensing some hidden information in the female ghost's words.
Normally, if a person dies with a strong obsession, their memory will also be very strong, and they will retain all their memories from their previous life.
But the female ghost in front of me doesn't have a complete memory, which makes me feel quite strange. Why is that?
"Yes, I can only remember a little bit now, and I can't remember the rest."
All I remember is that beast—my father did something no father would ever do!
The female ghost burst into tears at this point, her face streaked with tears, looking extremely pitiful.
Even Lao Dao couldn't hold back anymore after hearing this. "Brother Chen, let's think of a way to help him!"
Old Dao tugged at my sleeve and pleaded.
I was a little speechless. Lao Dao was barely able to take care of himself, so why was he thinking about other people's problems?
"What else do you know? Continue!"
I looked at the female ghost and asked her to finish telling the story.
“I became like this two years ago, but I have lost many of my memories from before. All I remember is my father killing me and doing those things!”
The female ghost was in great pain as she spoke of this; these memories were a source of trauma for her.
My brow furrowed even more. I felt like something was wrong, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
"Wait a minute! You mean your father killed you first, and then... you did that to him!"
"Wasn't it that I did *that* to you first, and then killed you?"
I didn't recognize it, but Lao Dao did, and he immediately asked.
I even reasonably suspect that Lao Dao has watched a lot of these kinds of plots.
