The next second, several more hands grabbed my arms.
I was held tightly by those girls and couldn't break free at all.
A woman's scream is already sharp and piercing, let alone the scream of a female ghost.
The shrill shouts echoed in my ears, making my eardrums ache terribly.
I was extremely anxious. Seeing their faces starting to contort and filled with resentment, I couldn't care less about anything else.
I swiftly pulled out the kitchen knife Liu Sandao had given me and slashed at the thin girl who was grabbing my arm.
It wasn't about taking her life, but about forcing her to let go.
The cleaver whistled past with a gust of wind, and the little girl screamed in terror, instinctively letting go and backing away.
Seeing this, the other girls also looked frightened, but they did not give up and continued to surround me.
Although I was temporarily freed from my restraints, I felt extremely dizzy.
Liu Sandao warned me to use this knife as little as possible, because it would reduce my mental strength.
I forced myself to endure the discomfort and turned to rush out the door.
As soon as I rushed out the door, I was so shocked by what I saw that I gasped in horror.
The narrow corridor was packed with people, men, women, young and old.
They were all like those little girls, surrounded by a heavy aura of yin energy.
The nanny I saw earlier in room 201 was also there.
She still gripped the fruit knife tightly in her hand, the blade still bearing traces of blood.
She pointed the knife at my nose and shouted, "You're not a cleaner!"
With wolves in front and tigers behind, how am I supposed to run?
Just then, the ghosts seemed to be parted by an invisible hand, making way for a passage.
A tall male ghost dressed in a security guard uniform slowly walked out from the crowd.
He was a good 1.9 meters tall, with broad shoulders and a thick back, and his security guard uniform was stretched taut by his muscles.
Behind him followed several equally young and strong security guards.
I secretly groaned inwardly.
Even the security guards in those high-end residential communities where the price per square meter is tens of thousands, can't all have a good set of teeth when all five of them are together.
Why are all the security guards in this old-style residential area so tall and imposing, like small mountains?
Before I could think any further, several security guards quickly surrounded me.
Two of them reached out and grabbed my arms with astonishing strength, as if they wanted to crush my arms.
"Come with us!"
The head security guard said coldly.
I knew in my heart that fighting head-on was not the best course of action, so I pretended to surrender and let them hold me.
Just as they were leading me to the third-floor stairwell, preparing to descend the stairs, I caught a glimpse of a half-open window next to the stairs.
Outside the window is the community's green belt.
A thought struck me, and just as I passed the window, I suddenly struggled and broke free from the ghostly security guard's hand on my left.
At the same time, he raised his right foot and kicked at the knee of the ghost security guard on the right.
The ghost security guard instinctively let go of his hand.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, I rushed to the window, braced myself on the windowsill, and jumped out.
"stop!"
"Grab him, don't let him get away!"
The angry shouts of the ghost security guards came from behind.
I dared not stop, and ran forward frantically.
Just as I ran to a green belt, a withered, skeletal hand quietly landed on my shoulder.
Without thinking, I reached for the kitchen knife, ready to chop it down.
"It's me!"
An old voice rang in my ears.
I turned my head sharply, and there was Old Sun.
"Come with me!"
Old Sun glanced at what was in front of him, lowered his voice, and spoke quickly.
Before I could answer, Old Sun grabbed my hand and pulled me through the maze of the neighborhood toward a pile of junk in the stairwell.
The pile of clutter was filled with discarded tables and chairs, and old cardboard boxes.
We crouched down and hid behind a pile of cardboard boxes.
"How did you get here?" Old Sun asked in a low voice, frowning.
"I'm here to see Brother Liu."
I replied.
Old Sun raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes: "You're here to see Liu Sandao?"
I nodded vigorously.
“Go back immediately. This is not a place for you. You can’t save him.”
Old Sun glanced outside, lowered his voice, and said quickly, "I don't know who let you in, but that person is definitely trying to harm you. This place is a one-way street!"
I said that no one asked me to come; I came voluntarily.
Liu Sandao's soul is trapped here and unable to return to his physical body because he helped me, so I can't abandon him.
Old Sun's lips moved slightly, about to speak, when hurried footsteps sounded again outside, becoming clearer and clearer.
The next second, the captain in the security uniform appeared in front of us, still tightly gripping a rubber baton in his hand.
"So this is where you've been! Come with me!"
The ghost security captain pointed a rubber baton at my nose and shouted sternly.
Seeing this, Old Sun gave me a hard shove and pointed quickly to a large iron gate behind the flowerbed, saying, "Liu Sandao's spirit is over there! Hurry up! As long as you get there, they won't be able to catch you!"
After saying that, he turned around abruptly and rushed towards the ghost security captain.
Despite his advanced age, Old Sun showed no sign of backing down in the face of the ghost security captain.
Old Sun had somehow acquired a large cleaver. Although the blade was somewhat rusty, it still exuded a fierce aura in the dim light.
