Chapter 1546 Let's See Who I Am

Li Huai and Luo Tianhe ran so fast that they didn't notice any of that, and I didn't tell them either.

We didn't dare linger and rushed straight to the lobby on the first floor. Just as we were about to burst out of the building,

"Splash..."

Behind us, upstairs, we suddenly heard the sound of something being dragged across the ground.

The sound came from the third floor.

My scalp tingled. That sound could be someone dragging a bag of cement, or even more likely, dragging a person or a corpse!

Luo Tianhe and Li Huai were startled by the sudden sound and ran out of the building even faster. They didn't listen and kept running outside. I followed them.

We ran that far in one breath, panting heavily, our hearts pounding so hard they felt like they were going to burst out of our chests.

"Damn, that scared me to death! I almost fell down!" Li Huai patted his chest. After all, the stairs didn't even have a handrail, and we ran so fast.

Having gone through so much, we've developed a strong heart. Even under these circumstances, we wouldn't be so weak that our legs would tremble or we wouldn't be able to walk properly.

After calming down for a while, we looked into the building again.

The dark entrance, to us, resembled a gaping maw ready to devour us, waiting for us to walk right into it.

The white wreath at the entrance of the building has somehow been turned around!

Originally, it was facing the building entrance, but now, the front with the character "奠" (meaning "memorial") is staring straight at the three of us.

The pale white paper flowers seemed to be staring at us silently.

A gust of cold wind blew by, and the wreath swayed gently, making a rustling sound as the paper rubbed together.

Suddenly something seemed to fall from the wreath. I looked closely and it looked like a piece of hair tie.

I couldn't help but swallow.

Luo Tianhe slapped me hard, "What are you standing there for? Run! That thing is probably going to catch up again soon!"

It was only then that I realized what was happening, and Luo Tianhe helped Li Huai, whose legs were a little weak, and the three of us stumbled and ran wildly back the way we came.

The gravel and weeds underfoot were a bit of a tripping hazard, and I almost fell several times.

Only after we ran out of the development zone and stepped back onto that muddy dirt road, where the vans in the distance were faintly visible under our flashlights, did we dare to slow down a little and pant heavily.

"Damn it, they didn't prepare anything, otherwise I would have..."

I felt a little embarrassed, so I couldn't help but say a few harsh words.

"Damn it, what the hell are those things?" Li Huai slumped onto a rock by the roadside, his face as pale as paper, his lips trembling.

Seeing his embarrassing state made me feel much better.

Luo Tianhe, leaning on his baton, his chest heaving violently, scanned his surroundings warily. He only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the thing didn't seem to be chasing after him.

"Chen Yan, what the hell is that? Don't you have a third eye? Did you see it clearly?!"

Faced with Luo Tianhe's question, I couldn't help but give a wry smile, "Damn it, my Heavenly Eye has been open the whole time, but I can't see anything. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had to lead you guys on such a pathetic escape."

As I spoke, I pointed to Li Huai, who was terrified like a grandson.

"This kid has the ability to see ghosts, but he only saw one ghost face from beginning to end. That thing must have some skill and was intentionally hiding."

Li Huai nodded.

"Alright, let's not worry about that for now, let's check on Zhou Ming!" I was on edge the whole time. I hadn't taken this ghost seriously and hadn't prepared anything; it just came out of nowhere.

I thought it would be resolved quickly, but the situation is much worse than I imagined.

Will something happen to Zhou Ming if he is left alone in the car?

We forced ourselves to walk towards the van, our bodies heavy with fatigue.

However, as we got closer, we discovered that something was amiss.

It's so quiet!

Zhou Ming didn't look around anxiously or come out to greet us as we had expected.

The car was dark inside, with no light from the phone.

Zhou Ming can't possibly fall asleep in a place like this!

"Zhou Ming?" Luo Tianhe called out tentatively.

His voice carried far in the silent night, but there was no response!

My heart jumped; sure enough, something had happened.

I quickly walked to the driver's side and shone my flashlight into the car. I saw Zhou Ming lying on the driver's seat with his head against the window and his eyes closed.

His face appeared unusually pale in the flashlight beam, and his chest barely rose and fell, making him look like a dead man.

"Damn it!" Luo Tianhe cursed under his breath and reached for the car door.

"Wait!" I hurriedly reached out to stop him, my eyes fixed on Zhou Ming, whose posture seemed too unnatural.

Moreover, the hand hanging by his side, with its slightly curled fingers, was scraping against the side of the passenger seat.

I walked around to the front of the car and shone my flashlight on his face. His lips were parted, and there seemed to be a red mark at the corner of his mouth.

Fortunately, the eyeball under the eyelid moved very slightly under the stimulation of the bright light.

At least the person is still alive.

However, something seemed off about his condition.

"Li Huai, go check the back of the car," I whispered, then pinched a yellow talisman.

Li Hua responded and ran shakily to the back of the car to check.

I gestured for Luo Tianhe to open the door, and then Huang Fu's knuckles turned white from the force he used.

Luo Tianhe suddenly pulled open the driver's side door.

The moment the car door opened, Zhou Ming, who had been motionless as if he were dead, suddenly made a very strange hoarse sound from his throat.

Those tightly closed eyes suddenly opened!

However, his eyes were unfocused, staring blankly at us, the whites of his eyes appearing a dead fish-like bluish-gray in the dim light.

Luo Tianhe was startled by his zombie-like appearance, took a few steps back, and almost fell on his backside.

I pressed the yellow talisman directly onto his forehead.

The yellow talisman suddenly burst into flames.

This guy was indeed possessed by an evil spirit.

"Zhou Ming, wake up and see who I am!" I pinched the soft flesh on his waist and twisted it hard.

"Ugh!"

Zhou Ming let out a scream, his body suddenly curling up like a boiled shrimp.

A glimmer of life suddenly returned to his empty eyes. He gasped for breath, like a drowning person suddenly surfacing. He then abruptly turned his head to look at the passenger seat, at the spot where he had been scraping.

"Blood, it's from her, she wants me to take her there, I won't go, I won't go!" Zhou Ming cried incoherently, desperately trying to climb out of the car.

Luo Tianhe and I quickly helped him out. He was limp and covered in cold sweat, clearly terrified. But the cold wind in the suburbs finally brought him back to his senses.

I shone my flashlight on the side of the passenger seat and saw several fresh fingernail scratches.
