Chapter 229: Bewitched again?

"You're going too?"

I stared wide-eyed at Luo Tianhe, my face filled with disbelief.

"Are you fucking crazy? They're boyfriend and girlfriend, it's perfectly normal for them to be lovey-dovey and do private things inside. What kind of behavior is it for you to go in?"

I grabbed his arms tightly with both hands, trying to pull him back from that strange impulse.

At this moment, Ke Luotianhe seemed to have completely lost his soul, his eyes staring blankly at the kitchen, his gaze unfocused and dazed.

That brute force was astonishing; I almost couldn't handle it.

“I’m not making a fuss, I… I have to go, I feel like she’s calling me.” Luo Tianhe’s lips trembled slightly, his face full of infatuation and urgency.

I was suddenly startled.

Having known Luo Tianhe for so long, I've always known him to be shrewd and decisive, a calm and clear-headed person who is never the kind of person who is now infatuated and has lost his mind.

His state today was truly eerie, as if he were possessed by some evil spirit.

Seeing that Luo Tianhe was dragging me towards the kitchen regardless of everything, in a panic, I gritted my teeth and slapped him hard across the face.

A crisp "snap" sounded.

Luo Tianhe's body trembled violently, as if struck by an electric current, and he froze.

He slowly turned his head, looking at me with a bewildered expression, his eyes still somewhat unfocused, and murmured, "Why did you hit me?"

Although his eyes were still somewhat dazed, at least he no longer had that crazy energy from before.

I breathed a slight sigh of relief and asked anxiously, "Don't you remember what you were going to do just now?"

What am I supposed to do?

Luo Tianhe frowned, his face full of innocence, as if he really had no memory of what had just happened.

I quickly said, "From the moment you entered the house, you started acting strangely, like you were possessed by a ghost. You even wanted to go in and play cards with Lao Su and Xiao He. Isn't that absurd!"

"How could that be? That kind of stuff, I..."

Luo Tianhe was speaking when his eyes, as if drawn by a magnet, turned and stared intently at the kitchen.

I noticed keenly that his eyes suddenly turned fiery again, his pupils contracted sharply, and he fell back into that frenzied state.

At the same time, a nightingale-like song drifted over.

Upon hearing this sound, Luo Tianhe's body moved involuntarily toward the kitchen, as if he were a puppet being manipulated.

"Damn it, here we go again!"

I cursed inwardly.

This bizarre situation just won't end.

Without thinking twice, I slapped him across the face again.

Before he could even speak, she grabbed his arms tightly with both hands and pulled him desperately toward the door.

I had only one thought in my mind: to get out of this eerie place as soon as possible.

If we stay any longer, who knows what kind of trouble might arise.

Only after leaving the building where Xiao He lived did I truly feel relaxed.

The air outside was fresh and cool, and I couldn't help but take a few deep breaths. The stuffiness I felt in the hallway earlier dissipated considerably.

"Old Chen, why does my face feel so hot? Did someone hit me?" Luo Tianhe raised his hand and gently touched his face, looking puzzled.

I glanced at his face and gave a helpless shrug.

That slap was indeed quite hard; his cheek was now slightly swollen and red.

“I did it!” I said.

"What's wrong with you? Why did you hit me for no reason? Are you bored?"

Luo Tianhe stared wide-eyed, his face filled with disbelief, seemingly having no memory of what had just happened.

I looked back at the building where Xiao He lived, hesitated for a moment, and then told him all about his strange behavior in the room.

"Holy crap, did I really do that? Do I look like someone who's so desperate?"

Luo Tianhe frowned, his face full of doubt, unable to believe that he had lost his composure like this.

I shrugged helplessly, thinking to myself, "It's a pity I didn't record it. Otherwise, I would have shown him how infatuated I was, like a pig, so that he would be convinced of my infatuation."

"Then why are you alright?" Luo Tianhe scratched his head, looking at me with a puzzled expression.

I spread my hands and said with a wry smile, "I don't know either. Maybe it's because you gave me the snake pill before, or maybe it's because I don't have [Earth Soul]."

"Although I was a little impulsive when I first entered the house, I quickly came to my senses."

Recalling what happened inside the house, I still feel lingering fear, and I am secretly glad that I was able to remain somewhat sober.

I said we can't go to Xiao He's house anymore, it's too eerie, who knows if I'll be able to control myself next time.

"What about Old Su? Just leave him there alone?" Luo Tianhe lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.

No sooner had he finished speaking than Su Mingyang called.

I stared at my phone screen, hesitated for a long time, and then pressed the answer button.

"Old Chen, why did you leave? Come on up, Xiao He has already cut the fruit."

Su Mingyang's voice came from the other end of the phone; he sounded to be in a good mood and showed no signs of anything amiss.

Hearing that he was alright, I finally felt a little relieved and quickly made up an excuse to get rid of him.

"Brother Luo has a sudden emergency, we need to go there first."

"Do you need my help?" Su Mingyang asked with concern.

"No need, no need. You and Xiao He stay here and wait until things are settled here before we come over. Also, don't mention today's events to Xiao He too much; we might have misunderstood," I instructed.
