I've found you!
Bai Su's pale face pressed close.
Then he slowly raised his hand, his fingernails inch by inch approaching my eyeballs.
I stared intently at the fingernail getting closer and closer, too afraid to move, desperately trying to convince myself that it was an illusion.
Just a second before her fingernail was about to pierce my eyeball, a loud rooster crowed suddenly.
Bai Su's fingers twitched back as if in spasm, and she clung to the wall with all four limbs, crawling rapidly until she disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Daylight broke.
I turned to call out to Luo Tianhe, only to find that his eyes were tightly closed, his body was trembling, and his lips were moving rapidly but no sound came out.
I don't even know what they're reciting.
I patted his shoulder, and Luo Tianhe shuddered, suddenly opened his eyes, and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Boye Bolomi!"
Me: "6".
Luo Tianhe looked around in a panic, his voice trembling as he asked, "Where...where did that thing go?"
I told them I had already left.
"That scared the hell out of me!"
Luo Tianhe reflexively pulled out a cigarette and put it in his mouth, but took it off as soon as he put it in his mouth: "Forget it, it has no flavor and is no fun to smoke."
I chimed in from the side, "It's not a big deal if it doesn't feel strong, but I'm worried that if you light this cigarette, it'll bring that stuff back."
Upon hearing this, Luo Tianhe's expression changed, and he quickly threw the cigarette far away.
"Let's go!" I said, walking towards the door.
Luo Tianhe quickly stood up and grabbed me: "Are you crazy? There's a guy outside with a gun! Aren't you afraid he'll shoot you?"
I said it's dawn now, those things have all disappeared. Besides, how can a gangster boss like you be so cowardly?
Luo Tianhe straightened his back, looking completely self-righteous: "Who said that being afraid of ghosts means you can't be a big brother?"
That seems to make sense.
The moment I opened the door, Luo Tianhe was so startled that he took two steps back, twisting his left ankle and falling heavily.
Just as I was about to stand up by holding onto the door, I touched a tombstone instead.
The warehouse that we were just in has vanished without us noticing, as if it had never existed.
Beneath our feet was a flattened grave mound; if it weren't for the tombstone still standing there, you wouldn't even be able to tell it was a grave.
There was no courtyard outside the gate.
What came into view was a desolate and messy field, with wild grass growing wildly, almost reaching above the knees, rustling in the wind, exuding an indescribable eeriness.
The original houses and buildings have vanished without a trace, leaving only a few lonely graves standing there abruptly.
This looks like a mass grave!
When I saw the red cloth that Liu Junming had tied to the tree branch about a hundred meters away, I instantly understood.
We never entered the village, or even left the area. We just stood there all night, trampling down several graves.
Several scratch marks left by fingernails were also visible on the ground.
It seems that what happened last night wasn't all a hallucination.
At least Bai Su really came!
Directly in front of us, Su Meng collapsed in front of a grave, her head resting against the tombstone.
"Are you alright?" I helped Luo Tianhe up.
"What happened? Where's the house? Where are all those people? How come they've all disappeared? Is this a dream within a dream?" Luo Tianhe stared wide-eyed at his surroundings in horror.
Actually, I'm not sure if we're still in a hallucination, or if the hallucination will disappear when it gets light.
But this wasn't the time to think about these things. I stepped forward and nudged the sleeping Su Meng.
Su Meng's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she slowly opened her eyes.
A split second before she shouted, I quickly covered her mouth and gestured for them to look ahead.
Su Meng and Luo Tianhe's already tense nerves tightened even more.
The two slowly turned their heads, their eyes fixed on the huge burial mound not far away.
The sound was coming from the grave mound.
The sound makes it seem like they're eating.
"Crack—"
"Crack—"
Luo Tianhe's face turned pale instantly: "No... could it be that some thing is eating in the grave?"
Su Meng was so frightened that she quickly hid behind Luo Tianhe, clutching his clothes tightly with both hands.
I thought to myself, you'd be better off hiding behind me than behind him. Your brother Luo is even more scared than you are.
"Give me the baton, I'll go take a look!"
Luo Tianhe was shocked: "Holy crap, are you out of your mind?"
I said that in broad daylight, those evil things shouldn't dare to come out. I'll go and see what's going on, otherwise I won't feel at ease.
I weighed the baton in my hand and tiptoed around the burial mound.
When I finally got around to the other side of the burial mound, the scene before me made my stomach churn and I almost threw up.
Gao Qian, Liu Junming, and the long-haired man were sitting around a corpse that had already been disemboweled. Their hands were covered in blood and bits of internal organs as they tore chunks of flesh from the corpse and stuffed them into their mouths.
Gao Qian held a head that had been completely gnawed out of shape, biting the scalp and pulling hard as she chewed it.
Liu Junming frantically rummaged through the corpse's abdominal cavity with both hands, pulled out a clump of internal organs, and stuffed it directly into his mouth without caring what kind of organ it was, his eyes revealing a frenzied hunger.
The long-haired man held a bone in both hands and gnawed on it, bits of bone flying everywhere. His face was splattered with blood and bits of meat, but he didn't seem to care. He even let out a few eerie laughs from time to time.
Although the body was completely unrecognizable, I recognized it as Lawyer Zhou at a glance from its clothing.
"ah!"
Before I knew it, Su Meng and Luo Tianhe had also appeared behind me.
