Chapter 1373 Lust Blinds Mind

"It's my fault, really. My nephew was young and impetuous and didn't know any better. I didn't warn him at the time."

"Yushui Hotel is not the only place that is haunted. Once, when he was chatting with a female colleague, he learned that she had also encountered strange things. She was so bewitched that she lent out several of her talismans."

Upon hearing this, I couldn't help but twitch my lips.

I thought this kid was smart just now, but now it seems like he just got lucky!

You've asked for so many talismans, and who knows which one might actually work? Lending out several at once is like an old man eating poison; you're tired of living.

The ghost that had been bothering him before hasn't come looking for him these past few days because he has a talisman to protect him.

Now that he's lost his protective amulet, what if the vengeful ghost retaliates...?

Wang Lin's voice was filled with endless regret:

“My nephew asked for a total of seven talismans. He lent out three and kept four for himself, thinking that was enough to protect himself.”

"Besides, his female colleague is quite pretty, so that guy probably has some other ideas too."

I sighed inwardly, "Lust truly blinds one's senses!"

In such a strange place, it was difficult to even protect oneself, let alone give away one's life-saving possessions just to please a woman.

Thinking of this, I couldn't help but glance at Li Huai. That kid is also blinded by lust; he'll get into big trouble sooner or later.

Seeing that I was looking at him, Li Huai scratched his head somewhat guiltily.

Then he gave me an awkward smile.

Wang Lin didn't notice the interaction between Li Huai and me. His voice trembled as he continued:

"And then, the very night he lent out the talisman, it came back!"

"First came the familiar splashing sound, but it was much louder than before, as if the pool was right in front of him!"

“My nephew was terrified. He lay on the bed, covering his head and body with the blanket.”

Suddenly, he felt a damp, cold sensation on the blanket. Trembling, he turned on his flashlight and discovered a blurry, human-shaped water stain on his blanket that he didn't know when it had appeared.

"My nephew was so frightened that he jumped out of bed, threw off the blanket, and ran towards the door."

"But the dormitory door was like it was welded shut; it couldn't be opened at all."

"What's worse, suddenly the sound of rushing water came from the bathroom! He looked closely and saw that the faucet in the bathtub was turned on, rapidly filling the bathroom with water."

"He was pulling on the door while desperately calling for help. He tried to dial 110 on his phone, but there was no signal."

At this point, Wang Lin's face had turned deathly pale, as if he had personally experienced it:

"Just when he was almost in despair, he suddenly remembered that he still had those three talismans in his pocket!"

"My nephew really had no other choice, so he took out those three talismans and waved them in front of himself while chanting incoherently, chanting things like 'Amitabha,' 'Hurry, hurry,' 'Jade Emperor,' 'Hallelujah,' and so on!"

Hearing this, even in such a serious setting, I couldn't help but want to laugh a little.

This kid has quite a wide range of interests, mixing Taoism and Buddhism, and combining Eastern and Western perspectives, but very few of them are actually useful.

"It's strange, but after my nephew did all that, he actually felt the chill around him subside a bit."

"Seeing this, he chanted even more fervently while waving the talisman in his hand, and even dared to try to turn off the constantly running faucet in the bathroom."

"By the time he got to the bathroom door, the water had already overflowed. He pushed the door open, gritted his teeth, and peered into the bathtub,"

At this point, Wang Lin's voice suddenly rose, revealing a sense of horror.

"I just saw that the water in the bathtub had overflowed, and there were ornamental fish jumping around on the bathroom floor."

"My nephew's mind went completely blank. The ornamental fish were clearly kept in the outdoor pond, how could they have gotten into his bathroom?!"

"But he soon understood why, because he saw a clump of black hair wriggling in the bathtub."

He stood there, stunned. He wanted to run, but his legs were as weak as noodles. He realized that the pale face in the middle of the black hair had turned into the female colleague he had lent the talisman to earlier that day!

This sudden turn of events sent a jolt through me.

What does it mean that the vengeful ghost transformed into that female colleague's appearance?

Could it have killed that female colleague?!

"Then the female ghost in the bath grinned, revealing an extremely eerie smile, and then her black hair began to grab at my nephew like tentacles."

"My nephew was so scared that he almost dropped the talisman in his hand. At the last second, he regained some of his senses, shouted, and threw the talisman at the hair!"

"When the talisman touched the hair, it made a slight popping sound and emitted a puff of white smoke. The few strands of hair that were touched instantly curled up and turned black. But more hair continued to surge forward frantically!"

"Forced into a corner, he could only throw out the last two talismans one after another, temporarily stopping the hair's attack, and scrambled out of the bathroom."

"After all this commotion, it's almost dawn."

"The noise outside gradually picked up, and the dormitory door could be opened. My nephew was paralyzed at the door, as if he had just been pulled out of the water, and his whole body was soaked in cold sweat."

This kid is really lucky; he's still alive.

I felt a bit emotional.

But thinking about it, it makes sense. Since Master Wang came to me, it means he thinks his nephew can still be saved.

If he were already dead, he should have directly asked me, the cobbler, what the price was for a human body replacement.

After a moment's pause, Master Wang drank the now-cooled hot water in his cup in one gulp.

"The next day, my nephew went to work nervously, wanting to find that female colleague and get the talisman back."

"But after asking around, I found out that the female colleague fell into a water tank while she was taking inventory in the warehouse last night and drowned! She was soaking in the tank all night, and her body was swollen!"

That female colleague did indeed die.

I nodded thoughtfully. Now that I think about it, that female colleague seemed to have been a scapegoat.

If that vengeful ghost hadn't gone to find her first, perhaps Master Wang's nephew would already be dead!

“My nephew completely broke down. He was too scared to stay in the hotel any longer, he didn’t even take his luggage, and ran home in a daze. But that thing had no intention of letting him go!”

At this point, Master Wang's eyes became bloodshot, and he suddenly knelt down in front of me with a thud:

"Please, Master, save my nephew!"
