Chapter 168 The Wrong Soul Was Collected

You love to brag, don't you?

I'll show you what boasting is all about!

Suqin Gu blew hard with his cheeks, but he couldn't budge the flames at all.

My lord, times have changed.

I lit the candle only after Suqin stopped puffing out her cheeks to blow on the flame.

Holding the candle, I tried to make my movements appear natural as I slowly walked towards the stairwell.

Suqin's figure appeared and disappeared behind him.

I could feel her following me.

Perhaps it was a blessing from heaven, but Suqin did not attack me as I was going downstairs.

Fifth Master and Luo Tianhe and others were already waiting downstairs.

When he saw me come out, Fifth Master's eyes instantly sharpened.

Shout loudly, "Quickly, lure her into the formation!"

Holding a candle, I slowly moved around the edge of the Bagua formation.

Just as Fifth Master had predicted, Suqin was drawn by the candlelight and walked step by step into the Bagua Formation.

The moment she stepped into the formation, a sudden gust of wind swept through the once peaceful night sky, causing the surrounding trees to rustle.

The flags in the Bagua formation fluttered violently in the gale.

The peach wood nails also shimmered faintly.

Suqin may have sensed the danger as well, because she suddenly stopped in the formation and her body began to tremble violently.

"roar!"

She let out a shrill scream.

Upon seeing this, Fifth Master immediately formed a hand seal and chanted: "The mighty light of the Primordial Beginning illuminates the desolate wilderness. It cleanses away evil and filth, and the ghosts vanish. Taiyi subdues the demons and eternally guards the eight wastelands."

As he read faster and faster, Suqin's movements became sluggish.

Every step was extremely difficult, as if one were stuck in an invisible quagmire.

However, just when everyone thought victory was in sight, Fifth Master's face suddenly turned deathly pale.

His movements suddenly froze, his brows furrowed into a deep frown, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.

"how so?"

Fifth Master's expression changed, and he quickly formed hand seals again, chanting the incantation even faster and more urgently.

But Suqin seemed to have suddenly gained some kind of power, and her originally slow movements gradually quickened.

"What happened?"

Luo Tianhe asked anxiously, "Why hasn't that old woman been eliminated yet?"

Fifth Master did not answer, but gritted his teeth and continued to cast the spell.

However, he was no longer as calm and composed as before.

His hands trembled slightly, and the veins on his forehead bulged, clearly indicating that he had reached his limit.

No matter how hard he tried, Suqin resisted stubbornly, and even took a few steps toward the edge of the formation.

Fifth Master took a deep breath, adjusted his state, and once again used all his magic to try to suppress Suqin and make her submit to the law.

This time, however, Suqin was not suppressed; instead, she let out a deafening roar.

The evil aura emanating from his body spread out like black smoke.

"not good!"

Fifth Master's expression changed drastically.

Before anyone could react, Fifth Master suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, which landed in the Bagua Formation.

"Fifth Master!"

I was extremely anxious and wanted to rush over, but Jin Ye grabbed me.

Fifth Master wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his face grave.

“Something’s not right. The snake fetus on Suqin’s body is gone. Without the restraint of the snake fetus, she has not only not been eliminated, but has become even more frenzied.”

"What do we do now? Can my son's soul still be transferred?"

Uncle Liu's face was filled with despair, and his voice was trembling with sobs.

Fifth Master remained silent for a moment, unsure of what to do.

At that moment, I remembered Little Fatty upstairs and hurriedly called out to Fifth Master, "Fifth Master, when I went upstairs just now, I found something in Little Fatty's stomach. His stomach was bigger than a pregnant woman's."

Fifth Master's expression changed: "Why didn't you say so earlier! You go upstairs now and repeat the soul-collecting process again. What you just collected wasn't Little Fatty's soul, it was a snake fetus."

Holy crap!

I was wondering why Little Fatty's belly suddenly deflated when we were collecting his soul.

Seeing that Fifth Master was still holding Suqin back, I quickly went back upstairs to Little Fatty's room.

The room was now filled with an even stronger stench of decay.

I suppressed my discomfort, steadily placed the small bowl over Little Fatty's head, took a deep breath, and chanted the soul-gathering incantation.

"Heaven and earth were dark and yellow, the universe was vast and boundless, the souls returned to their places, and commands were given to the four directions."

As soon as he finished reading, a faint glow gradually appeared in the small bowl.

Suddenly, a faint wisp of white light rose from the bowl.

I quickly followed Fifth Master's instructions, covering the bowl with the yellow talisman and shouting, "I'm home!"

Just then, a violent tremor came from downstairs.

I ran to the window and looked out, and saw Suqin struggling desperately in the Bagua formation.

The evil aura emanating from his body clashed violently with the light of the array, emitting a blinding glow.

Fifth Master and Master Jin stood outside the formation, constantly waving their hands to control the power of the formation.

Suddenly, Suqin let out a deafening roar, broke free from the array's restraints, and charged towards my location.

Fifth Master's expression changed drastically, and he shouted, "Stop her! She's about to go berserk!"

Upon seeing this, Luo Tianhe immediately rushed forward and slashed at Suqin's head with his sword.

"Old Chen, get down first, I'll hold her off!"

I was frantic. As I ran downstairs, I kept looking back at Little Fatty's body.

Just as I turned around, the stitches on Little Fatty's stomach suddenly burst open.

With a "poof" sound.

Countless small snakes crawled out of his belly, densely packed, and surged towards me.

I dared not look any longer, and turned to run downstairs as fast as I could, with the little snake chasing closely behind me.

When I got downstairs, I saw that Suqin had broken through the crowd's obstruction and was rushing towards me.
