Su Mingyang stared intently at me with his single eye, which emitted an eerie red light, while muttering to himself.
"Old Chen, it's time. Come with me!"
I couldn't help but curse inwardly, "What kind of time is it?"
If you want to be reincarnated, then go ahead and do it! Why are you looking for me?
But he smiled and said, "You can go, but look, I've specially prepared a meal for you. Why don't you eat first before you set off?"
After I finished speaking, I slowly opened the food box and laid out the four dishes one by one.
The moment I took the food out, the ghosts beside me, who had been trembling with fear, were awakened by the aroma of the food and their greed began to stir.
His eyes were wide open, staring intently at the food, a low swallowing sound coming from his throat, and his feet unconsciously moving forward.
But when their eyes fell upon Su Mingyang's ferocious and terrifying appearance, they were so frightened that they quickly shrank back, their bodies trembling even more violently.
They could only stand there and watch helplessly, yet dared not make a move.
As I opened the first earthenware bowl, steaming cabbage soup rose up.
Upon seeing the dish, Su Mingyang sniffed hard, his throat bobbing up and down.
Their mouths slowly moved closer.
Seeing that he had fallen for it, I screamed in my mind: Eat, eat!
Just as Su Mingyang's mouth was about to touch the dish, three rather burly ghosts couldn't resist the temptation of the food and rushed forward without hesitation, reaching out to grab the bowl of Yin-Yang Harmony Soup.
Fuck your mother!
I'm so angry I could explode.
Upon seeing this, Su Mingyang's single eye, which had been emitting a red glow, instantly turned bright red, and he suddenly reached out and grabbed the head of one of the ghosts.
Before the ghost could even scream, Su Mingyang shoved it into his mouth.
As the teeth chewed, they made a chilling "crunching" sound.
Immediately afterwards, he grabbed two more ghosts with incredible speed and swallowed them whole as well.
After finishing his meal, Su Mingyang let out a burp, and a putrid smell filled the air.
"I'm not eating anymore, let's hurry up and go, Xiao He is in a rush!"
Su Mingyang reached out and pulled me again.
Suddenly, a chilling aura, like a cold and slippery snake, rapidly climbed upwards along my veins.
My arm went numb instantly.
I was internally cursing: What's going on?
You don't eat what you should eat, but you eat your fill of what you shouldn't eat?
This whole process has left me completely bewildered.
But I couldn't struggle. I could only watch helplessly as his soul gradually solidified, his rotting left cheek fully exposed to the moonlight, his eyeballs almost detaching from their sockets, swaying precariously with the movement of his body.
At this critical moment, I suddenly remembered Liu Sandao's instructions and bit my tongue hard without hesitation.
He mustered all his strength to spit the blood in his mouth toward Su Mingyang.
With a loud "Aow!", Su Mingyang released my wrist, curled up into a ball, rolled around on the ground, and made indistinct growls.
At the same time, ripples appeared on the cabbage soup.
"Old Su, look how fragrant this soup is! Drinking it will make your journey more comfortable."
I gently coaxed him while bringing the soup back to him.
Su Mingyang curled up on the ground, looking at me warily with eyes full of resistance.
"No... I don't want to eat... It hurts."
"Old Su, just trust me this once. Drinking this soup will do you good, and the pain will go away!"
I continued to persuade them.
After much pleading and cajoling, Su Mingyang finally slowly raised his head.
After hesitating for a moment, he slowly opened his mouth.
I quickly fed him the soup.
As he swallowed the soup little by little, a wisp of black smoke spewed out from his mouth and nostrils, emitting a putrid smell.
I was secretly pleased, knowing that he was releasing the resentment he felt.
It seems the soup really worked.
I quickly picked up the shredded radish and brought it close to his mouth.
"Come on, have some more of this, it's delicious!"
"Is it... delicious?"
Although Su Mingyang's eyes were still very red, he was already somewhat confused, and his voice carried a hint of uncertainty.
"Very good, very nourishing!"
I said with absolute certainty.
"It's delicious, it's delicious... isn't it?"
Su Mingyang stared intently at the shredded radish in my hand, as if he were having a fierce internal struggle.
Finally, after my constant coaxing, he slowly opened his mouth.
I quickly took the opportunity to feed him some shredded radish.
As soon as he entered the temple, Su Mingyang's ghost suddenly swelled up, doubling in size in the blink of an eye. The powerful force caused the entire dilapidated temple to shake violently.
The beams and pillars creaked and groaned, as if they might collapse at any moment.
"What's going on?"
I was greatly alarmed.
Didn't Liu Sandao say that eating this would remind him of the things he cared about most in his life?
I haven't even asked him how he died, why are you reacting so strongly?
With such a strong reaction, how can I ask them anything?
I didn't care about anything else. When I saw that his eyes, nose, mouth, and ears were spewing black smoke, I gritted my teeth and shouted.
"Su Mingyang, how did you die? Was it...?"
However, before I could finish speaking, Su Mingyang seemed to have been provoked.
Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed my collar.
His rotting fingers easily pierced through the fabric, the tips almost touching my skin, and a strong stench of decay hit me.
