The little girl's staring gaze was like two sharp icicles, piercing straight into my heart.
"Chen Yan!"
Xiaomi called out anxiously from outside, her voice coming through the wall.
"How are you doing inside? Why haven't we heard from you for so long? I saw a lot of people walking this way; Grandma Sun might be coming back!"
I wanted to respond to her, but I found that my throat felt like it was blocked by something, and I couldn't make a sound.
Even his gaze couldn't leave the little girl's eyes, and his body was stiff as if frozen in place.
"Xiao Chen! Can you hear me?"
Jin's voice on the other end of the phone grew increasingly urgent.
Just then, the little girl's lips slowly curled up, revealing an extremely eerie smile.
The next second, her body began to tremble violently, and her hands slowly rose, her withered fingers curling like hooks as she reached out to grab me.
However, just a second before her fingernail touched my face...
The wardrobe door suddenly slammed shut by itself with a "bang".
As the wardrobe door closed, the intense feeling of confinement vanished instantly.
I dared not linger, let alone destroy those corpses and paper figures.
I grabbed the paper figure with my birth date and time written on it and ran outside.
When I ran out, I found Xiaomi was about to climb over the wall to come and find me.
Seeing me crawl out, Xiaomi paused for a moment, then rushed over and looked me up and down anxiously: "Chen Yan, are you alright?"
I looked into the distance and saw that there were indeed several figures walking this way one after another.
However, it was too dark, and we couldn't see whether Grandma Sun was among them.
"Let's leave here first; this isn't the place to talk."
I pulled Xiaomi along and we quickly left from the other side.
Xiaomi probably noticed my unpleasant expression and didn't ask any questions, just kept following me and walking forward in silence.
I don't know if it was just my imagination, but on the way back, I kept feeling like there was a pair of eyes watching us from the shadows.
But when you look back, there are only empty streets and the occasional swaying branches.
"Chen Yan, what are you always looking back at?"
Xiaomi asked, puzzled.
I pushed open Yunwei's door and said, "Let's go inside and talk."
The feeling of being spied on only completely disappeared the moment the door was closed.
I had barely closed the door and hadn't even had a chance to catch my breath when Xiaomi asked impatiently.
"Chen Yan, what did you see in the house? Did you see any paper figures or paper coffins?"
I didn't answer her question immediately. Instead, I looked her straight in the eye and asked, "Xiaomi, why have you been helping me all this time?"
Xiaomi seemed to have anticipated my question, and made no attempt to hide anything.
He quickly pulled an exquisite black paper coffin from his backpack and placed it heavily in front of me.
I stared at the palm-sized black coffin, examining it carefully.
The paper coffin was made with exquisite craftsmanship, with every line flowing smoothly and delicately.
There were also some strange symbols engraved on the coffin lid. These symbols were neither words nor characters, but exuded an indescribable mysterious charm.
"What's this?"
"[The Enchanting Coffin]! Of course, I'm not sure if that's the correct name. I searched online for a long time before finding a similar description, so I'm just tentatively calling it that."
Xiao Mi clenched her fists tightly, her body trembling slightly, her finger bones turning white from the force.
From her actions, I could deeply feel the churning fear and anger within her.
"The Enchanting Coffin?"
I muttered to myself, frantically searching my mind for relevant information, but to no avail.
After hesitating for a moment, I looked at Xiaomi and tentatively asked, "Would you mind if I took a picture and asked someone knowledgeable? Maybe they could find a solution."
Xiaomi's eyes lit up instantly, as if she had seen a glimmer of light in the darkness, and she said excitedly.
"No problem, no problem! Go ahead and ask! If there's anything else you need my cooperation on, I'll do it no matter what! Do you need me to send the previous surveillance video to your friend to see?"
"video?"
I shook my head: "No need for now. Let's send the photos first, since the other party may not even know about this."
After saying that, I picked up Xiaomi's phone, adjusted the angle, and took several photos of the [Enchantress Coffin] from different angles.
After taking the photo, I logged into my account and sent it to Mr. Jin, along with the message: "Mr. Jin, please take a look at this thing, it's urgent!"
Not long after, the phone rang suddenly, and the screen showed that it was Jin Ye calling.
As soon as I pressed the answer button, Jin Ye's anxious voice came through.
"Xiao Chen, where did you get this? This isn't an ordinary thing!"
I didn't have time to answer his question and hurriedly asked, "Mr. Jin, forget about the source for now, just tell me what this is."
There was a moment of silence on Jin Ye's end, then he spoke in an extremely serious tone.
"This thing isn't actually called the [Enchantress Coffin]; its real name is the [Soul-Devouring Coffin]. It's an extremely sinister object that usually only appears in some very secluded and dangerous ancient tombs."
"It is said that this thing was used by some evil practitioners in ancient times to raise little ghosts."
"Once entangled by the [Soul-Devouring Coffin], the evil spirits inside will follow the host like maggots clinging to the bone, constantly sucking away the host's essence and spirit. Over time, the host's body and fortune will be greatly affected, and may even endanger their life."
"Moreover, this thing is extremely difficult to deal with; ordinary methods simply cannot destroy or get rid of it."
"That's right, that's right!"
Xiaomi was incredibly excited when she heard this: "No matter what I do, I can't destroy it, and I can only take it with me wherever I go."
