I quickly moved with Yiyi and approached the coral, which only had a tiny bit of luster left.
To my surprise, this coral reef did not break even under such a huge impact!
The coral in this area actually looks more solid and substantial.
What's going on?
Before I could think any further, the vibrations of the seawater were becoming increasingly severe.
"Want to try again?"
I asked Yiyi, and Yiyi, without me noticing, suddenly revealed a slightly surprised look in her eyes.
In my opinion, this is the only way out. Once we escape this area, we'll at least be safe.
But the young assassin gave me the feeling that she had already accomplished her mission.
"This is the Dew-Covered Branch from the Heart of the Sea!"
Yiyi blurted it out.
Then, he carefully cupped the coral branch in his hands, but did not grasp it.
After holding it, Yiyi slowly brought her ear close to the coral and listened quietly, just like a child learning to speak.
Seeing this scene, I was somewhat charmed.
Although the girl in front of me is almost as tall as me, I feel like I'm seeing her as a child.
Dew-laden branches in the heart of the sea?
I repeated the tongue-twisting name.
Does the girl recognize this thing? Or is it some kind of good thing that I don't know about?
Just as I was wondering what was going on, the girl showed a hint of disappointment.
The girl stood up and shook her head helplessly.
"What a pity, brother, this thing has lost its activity."
The girl spoke slowly.
Seeing her like this, even though I had neither lost nor gained anything, it felt as if I had lost some precious treasure.
Yiyi explained to me that this thing is called "Sea Heart Dew Branch", which usually grows in the central area of the sea or in areas rich in nutrients.
Extremely rare.
It's something that's rarely seen even in a manor.
The only time this happened was when an old tree in the manor received its essence, resulting in the growth of a dew-covered branch about the length of a finger.
Seawater, nutrients?
This place is clearly not the sea, at least not in the general sense.
Yi Yi nodded. This was indeed not the ocean, but in fact, it could happen anywhere with strong energy, provided that someone was there to take care of it.
That's when I realized that the only person who could take care of this deathly place was the fallen, strange merchant.
But just thinking about that bastard made me swallow hard.
Without real strength, he's just showing off his little tricks to his father.
Was this guy the one who took care of these dew-covered branches?
I had almost the same thoughts as the girl.
If that's the case, then it makes sense.
The merchant steals a portion of the profits from the goods being transported, keeping some of it for himself.
This is why, despite its low quality, it could yield such a complex and intricate trap and spell.
I even suspect that the seaweed monster in his hand is the same guy who keeps acting as his executioner inside the high walls.
The ability to remotely control and imbue it with an independent will to attack is something that no ordinary person could achieve.
This portion is all the profit he kept for himself!
The other part is probably stored inside the Sea Heart Dew Branch!
None of the creatures in the mysterious waters are growing normally.
The dew-covered branches in front of us are growing wildly at such a speed.
It even radiates such a dazzling light.
Besides this businessman, I really can't think of anyone else who is quietly taking care of this Dew-Gathering Branch.
The fact that these dew-covered branches can grow so well in such an environment, and even have some vitality, is definitely due to careful nurturing.
It's definitely not in a free-range state.
Looking at the dew-covered branches in front of me, I was actually seized by an urge to touch them.
Is this what energy drives?
A wave of emotion washed over me.
And it wasn't just me and the lightning sword hovering beside my head; he was already itching to make a move.
"Master, hurry up and make your move! This thing already smells incredibly powerful! The wall has been expanding outwards and getting shorter at the same time. This branch is the key."
When I heard the Thunder Strike Sword's voice in my mind, my pupils suddenly contracted.
Damn, how come I didn't think of that?
Indeed, from the very beginning when that merchant was fighting with us, I barely noticed the changes in the wall.
But the wall is a very real thing.
After all, when we were first tricked into this desolate holy land, the walls appeared out of thin air.
But through the fight, we were completely certain that it was real earth and stone, just that it had been there for a long time and was emitting a putrid smell.
But without realizing it, that putrid smell gradually faded away.
Does this mean that these things that can change on their own have their energy source in these dew-covered branches?
I looked at the coral carefully, and it seemed that I was growing to like it more and more.
At the tip of the dew-covered branch, two fingernail-sized coral polyps protrude outwards, their surfaces displaying a textured shape.
I can't quite make out the specific meaning of these patterns, but they are definitely not naturally formed.
The coral appears small and delicate, exuding a coolness that is completely opposite to the current atmosphere.
I really want to obtain the energy from this thing.
