Just as I was wondering where that "me" had gone, a shrill scream suddenly came from outside the door.
Something's happened!
I was startled and, without bothering to continue searching for the vanished "me," I rushed out of the storage room.
As soon as I stepped outside, I saw that Li Hui, who had been lying on the morgue, was now standing upright on the ground.
His eyes were wide open, empty and eerie. His originally pale face now had a bluish-gray tinge, and his lips were slightly parted, emitting a low "woo-woo" sound.
Upon witnessing this scene, Su Mingyang was so terrified that his legs went weak, and he almost collapsed to the ground. His body trembled uncontrollably, and his teeth began to chatter. He muttered, "It's over, it's over, it's come back to life again..."
Yeah, it's another scam!
The last person to rise from the dead in morgue number three was Bai Su; now it's Li Hui's turn.
Although Luo Tianhe was a gang leader, he was so frightened by this bizarre scene that his face turned pale and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
However, he tried to remain calm and gripped the baton tightly in his hand.
His henchmen were terrified and staggered about. Some hid in corners, while others dropped their weapons, their eyes filled with fear.
Although Li Hui got off the stone bed, he did not show any intention to attack.
I took a deep breath and quickly looked around to observe the terrain.
The morgue contained several stone beds and some miscellaneous items, all of which could be advantageous to us.
"Don't panic, everyone!"
I shouted, trying to calm everyone down.
"Brother Luo, you and the brothers push the stone beds together, forming a circle, trapping Li Hui in the middle!"
Luo Tianhe was stunned for a moment, seemingly still recovering from the fear.
But upon hearing my words, he subconsciously nodded and loudly called out to his underlings.
"Don't fucking back down, listen to Old Chen, push the stone bed over there!"
Although the underlings were afraid, they still acted cautiously under their leader's orders, working in groups of several to push the stone bed with great effort.
Soon, the stone bed was arranged in a circle, trapping Li Hui in the middle.
Li Hui seemed to realize our intentions, let out a roar, and swung his hands to slam the stone bed.
The stone bed shook as he bumped into it, making a "bang, bang" sound.
"Brother Luo, you take a few of your men, grab your weapons, and stand guard around the stone bed. If Li Hui shows any sign of breaking out, use your weapons to shoot him!"
I continued to give instructions.
Luo Tianhe took a deep breath, and with a few of his slightly calmer underlings, holding batons and steel pipes, he stared intently at Li Hui.
Li Hui kept slamming his fists against the stone bed, letting out roars.
His strength seemed to have become immense, and the stone bed, which required several people to barely move, began to loosen.
While keeping an eye on the agitated Li Hui, I anxiously called out to Su Mingyang.
"Old Su, hurry and get the iron chains! This stone bed can't hold him back any longer!"
Su Mingyang was so frightened that he retreated repeatedly.
"What are you dawdling about!"
Su Mingyang hesitated for a moment before turning around and running towards the pile of miscellaneous items.
Just then, Li Hui unleashed a deafening roar.
With a sudden burst of strength, he pushed hard with both hands, and the stone bed was actually pushed aside.
One of the younger brothers, who was a little slow to react, was unable to dodge in time, and the corner of the stone bed hit his foot hard.
The younger brother screamed, lost his balance, and fell to the ground.
Seeing this, Li Hui, like a mad beast, pounced on his fallen underling in an instant.
Luo Tianhe reacted quickly, rushing forward and grabbing his underling's arm tightly, forcefully dragging him aside.
Li Hui missed his target and fell heavily to the ground.
But he quickly got up again.
He was now even more agitated, his eyes bloodshot, and the roars he emitted were increasingly shrill, echoing in the cramped morgue.
Everyone was terrified by Li Hui's crazy actions and rushed towards the door of morgue number three, shouting.
However, the entrance to morgue number three is extremely narrow, only wide enough for two people to pass side by side.
With so many people crowding through, it got stuck instantly.
Except for two who ran fast, everyone else was blocked at the door.
The people behind me were still rushing forward in a panic, and they couldn't hear my shouts at all.
In the chaos, Li Hui suddenly turned around and charged straight at me.
He was incredibly fast; I had no time to dodge. I could only instinctively raise the steel pipe in my hand and swing it toward his head.
With a loud bang, the steel pipe slammed down heavily on Li Hui's head.
But he only swayed his body, showing no sign of backing down. Instead, he became even angrier, grabbed the steel pipe, and pulled hard.
I stumbled and almost fell.
Upon seeing this, Luo Tianhe immediately rushed over and swung his baton at Li Hui's arm.
I took the opportunity to loosen my grip on the steel pipe and step back a few paces.
Li Hui turned around and lunged at Luo Tianhe again.
Fortunately, Luo Tianhe was agile and kept dodging, while occasionally swinging his baton at Li Hui.
Taking advantage of the break, I ran up to the two body transporters from Xishan Funeral Home and asked them loudly.
"How would you normally handle this situation?"
The two corpse transporters were already terrified, their faces ashen and their bodies trembling uncontrollably. One of them stammered.
"I...we've never...experienced anything like this before..."
