Finally, Hua Hua's expression changed, and she returned to her previous timid state. She immediately let go of my leg, knelt on the ground, and kowtowed to me.
Seeing this, I finally breathed a sigh of relief. It seems that I managed to erase a part of Xu Qiang's consciousness.
Now, Hua Hua is finally out of trouble.
Are you alright?
I looked down at Hua Hua and at the same time drew the Thunder Strike Sword.
After the lightning sword was released from its restraints on Huahua, Huahua kept kowtowing to me.
"Master, thank you for saving my life! My consciousness was bound by something just now, and what I did was not my intention!"
The female ghost explained, crying.
I nodded. Of course I know that.
I am now certain that the female ghost kneeling before me and speaking to me is the same one from the beginning.
"Alright, let's go in quickly!"
I turned on the mirror, and now I have absolute control over it.
No matter how hard the female ghost tries, she cannot enter the mirror unless she wants to.
"Master, thank you, Master!"
The female ghost kowtowed to me twice more before entering the mirror.
I could sense that the female ghost was in much better condition after entering the mirror.
"Older brother, what about your health?"
The old woman noticed the changes in my body; I was now being washed away by death energy.
But I am still alive.
"It's alright. I've said it before, you can't build something without destroying it, and you have to destroy it before you can build something!"
If I hadn't experienced this death, I'm afraid I would never have been able to break free from this illusion in my entire life!
As more and more clues emerged, I increasingly felt the meaning of this illusion.
"This challenge is less of an illusion and more of a state of mind!"
I tidied up my things and then helped the older woman up.
"Didn't you notice? I was washed away by death energy, and your physical condition isn't good either. This is the commonality among illusions!"
I kept reminding the older woman.
The older woman was very perceptive; she immediately understood what I was trying to say.
"Brother, are you saying that whether I die after being cleansed by the death energy or that my current physical weakness is all fake?"
The older woman was a little unsure.
"Yes, since there's no way to stop death, let's face it!"
My tone was full of composure.
At the same time, I released the power within me, allowing the death energy to wash over me repeatedly.
Although the older woman was scared, seeing that I had set an example for her, she had nothing to say and, following my example, gave up resisting.
Sure enough, after the woman gave up resisting, her body became increasingly weak. However, after about ten seconds, her weak body turned rosy.
"This is... my power? It's returned?"
The woman looked at her fair hands in disbelief.
"Yes, I'm back!"
I nodded vigorously.
The older woman held my hand tightly, and we just stayed there.
Finally, the room began to distort, and the surrounding environment kept changing.
We don't know how much time passed before we opened our eyes and found ourselves in a spacious, enclosed room.
The secret chamber was very large, but almost empty, except for a stone platform.
In the corner of the secret room, a familiar man was seen lying unconscious on the ground.
It's naturally Old Knife.
"Brother, it seems we've broken free of the illusion?"
The old lady looked around excitedly. In any case, we finally left that broken illusion.
"Yes, they've broken through. Now, let's see how Old Knife does!"
Without hesitation, I walked straight up to Lao Dao.
Old Dao is currently fast asleep over there, like a dead dog—no, he should be saying his eyes are tightly closed.
Old Dao's expression kept twisting, as if he was afraid, or as if he was worried.
"Brother Chen! Don't abandon me! Wait for me!"
Even as he lay on the ground, Old Dao still called my name.
I smiled at this.
That's Lao Dao!
I glanced at Lao Dao's pants; he had wet them again when he called my name.
"Yes, that's right, we're out. It's definitely Old Knife!"
I am very confident.
The older woman, however, was unsure.
"Brother, we haven't made a mistake, have we?"
Having learned from the previous experience, the old woman became quite cautious about the old knife in front of her, fearing that we were still in an illusion.
"Don't worry about that. I wouldn't dare to be so certain that Lao Dao is Lao Dao!"
As I spoke, I squatted down and patted Lao Dao's face. Finally, Lao Dao opened his eyes.
"Holy crap, Brother Chen, you're not dead?!"
When Lao Dao saw me, he pounced on me, and I almost cried again. I pushed him away with a look of disgust and cursed, "You son of a bitch."
"Why did you suddenly faint? What happened?"
I asked Lao Dao, if I remember correctly, after the old lady pulled me into that wall, she lost contact with Lao Dao, but for some reason, Lao Dao actually fainted.
"Brother Chen, I don't know either!" Old Dao looked completely innocent, having been woken up by me, and looked at me with a pitiful expression.
"Anyway, you just disappeared. I waited for a while, and it seemed like I was having a nightmare. What's left is what you see!"
Old Dao thought about it for a while, but in the end, he didn't say anything of value.
"How are things on your end? Are you alright?"
Old Dao asked me with concern.
