Chapter 466 Seventeen More

"Wait! Xiao He, are you saying that your mother and your aunt didn't die in this house?"

I suddenly realized the key issue in the fat man's words.

Actually, from the beginning, I thought that among the seventeen dead people were the fat man's parents.

The fat man said his father had passed away long ago.

It wasn't mentioned that the mother was also not there.

"Yes, my mother and aunt passed away a long time ago, and it has nothing to do with what happened seven years ago!"

The fat man nodded, and upon hearing this, I didn't know what to say.

I vaguely remember the fat man saying that his mother was among the seventeen, but I'm not sure.

"That's strange, why would your mother be here!"

I shook my head, completely baffled.

I don't quite understand this.

The dates don't match up at all.

"Could they be the same person?"

The older woman said something.

After all, there are people in this world who look exactly alike.

Some of them may have been forcibly transformed through some means.

"But if it was his mother inside, then her being dealt with earlier would explain it!"

Because he didn't want his son to get hurt, he chose this method to suppress his own power.

I continued to think about what had just happened.

Based on what we just saw, this is the most likely explanation.

"That's true, but the age doesn't match up. That corpse was definitely over 100 years old!"

Although the older woman thought it made a lot of sense, she still disagreed with me.

"Unless it's something like reincarnation, but how could someone bound by those chains be reincarnated!"

The woman mentioned a possibility but quickly denied it.

"So, my mother's body has been disposed of?" The fat man asked, his eyes brimming with tears.

He had completely come to believe that the corpse was his mother.

"The body was dealt with, but if it hadn't been dealt with then, the three of us would have been the ones who got dealt with!"

My tone carried a hint of apology. I knew the fat man's experience well, but I had no choice in that situation.

If we don't deal with the body, and it causes some kind of change, then several of us will be the ones to die.

"Sir, I was just asking, I didn't mean to blame you!"

The fat man's tone was full of disappointment.

"Based on the information we have so far, your aunt and your mother are indeed quite unusual!"

I first patted the fat man on the back to comfort him, and then brought up his situation.

The fat man's mother and aunt were definitely not ordinary people.

"I know that. After we get rid of the evil spirits here, I'll have to ask you to go to my guesthouse and take care of everything down there!"

The fat man nodded as he walked to the coffin and carefully picked up the clothes.

This is a classic red wedding dress; the one in Fatty's cellar has already been taken by the female ghost inside.

I think this last piece might still have a use.

I originally wanted to keep it, but the thought that it might be the fat man's mother's keepsake made me feel a little reluctant.

"Sir, take this garment if you need it!"

Although it looks very similar, thinking back, it probably isn't my mother!

At this moment, the fat man became very rational. He spoke softly to me, folded the clothes, and handed them to me.

I was a little surprised; I really didn't expect such words to come from a fat man's mouth.

"Alright! I'll find a way to resolve the evil spirits in this house and what happened back then!"

I solemnly accepted the clothes and put them into my small bag.

I glanced at the coffin again; it was completely empty, with no burial goods inside.

Apart from a few small figures on the bottom of the coffin, there was nothing special about it.

I lifted the coffin lid from the ground and carefully put it on.

Then he bowed again to the coffin.

If that corpse really went easy on me just now, then this bow was deserved.

"By the way, could you send me a copy of that photo?"

I thought of the family photo on the fat man's phone earlier. Although it was a photo from almost 30 years ago, I felt that some of the people in it looked familiar!

I just can't quite remember it right now.

Since there's not much signal right now, I had to ask the fat man to send it to me via Bluetooth.

After the photos were sent, I took another good look at them.

There was a man who looked very familiar; I was sure I'd seen him somewhere before, but I just couldn't remember where.

I put my phone away, shook my head, and said I wouldn't think about it anymore; maybe I'd remember it next time I encountered it.

I had just followed the fat man out of the ancestral hall when I suddenly realized that I seemed to have forgotten something.

"What's wrong, sir?"

When the fat man saw me suddenly stop, he quickly turned around and asked me something.

"Wait a minute!"

I took out the wooden box, which contained those little wooden figures.

"Young lady, look at these little figures. Aren't the patterns similar to the ones in the coffin from earlier?"

I pointed to the little wooden figure in the wooden box, my tone fluctuating greatly.

They then quickly pushed open the coffin and made a comparison.

The little figures at the bottom of the coffin seem to be dancing, but their overall patterns and size are exactly the same as the little shepherds in the box.

This is absolutely no coincidence!

"My brother is exactly the same!"

The older woman also had a solemn expression.

There are just too many strange things in this place.

First, a coffin suddenly appeared, and then the corpse inside the coffin chose a method that was almost suicide.

Later, the bottom of the coffin had the same pattern as the little wooden figure.

What does this actually mean?

There are four small figures on the bottom of the coffin.

I took four little figures out of the box and put them inside, then put the coffin back on.

As the coffin was closed, a sudden burst of emerald green light flashed, then vanished right before our eyes.

"Oh, this!"

I'm speechless after seeing this.

Four perfectly good puppets were lost for no reason.

"Brother, it is indeed a pity, but every cloud has a silver lining!"

Perhaps fearing I might feel it was a bit of a pity, the older woman went over and offered a few words of comfort.

I just smiled, my expression very calm.

"Don't worry, there are still a few puppets left, and I don't need them for the time being!"

I laughed heartily. After the coffin disappeared, I felt much lighter.

Maybe this is just my imagination.

Just as I was about to leave, I turned back and counted the memorial tablets again.

There are exactly 17 broken ones.

I broke out in a cold sweat instantly.

Seventeen again!
