Soon, we arrived at a place not far from Anning Girls' High School.
The driver dropped us off and sped away. We looked around Anning Girls' High School and fell silent for a moment.
"Don't you think it's too quiet here?"
Li Huai spoke first, breaking the silence.
He's right, school gates are usually quite lively, especially on Sundays.
Although I didn't go to high school, I still have some understanding of it.
"Yes, I remember there were vendors selling grilled sausages, jianbing guozi (Chinese crepes), multigrain jianbing (Chinese crepes), liangpi (cold skin noodles), all kinds of things outside my high school. And there were fast food restaurants, stationery stores, supermarkets, and everything else right outside the school."
Luo Tianhe took out a cigarette, lit it, and with his legs spread wide, remarked:
"To be honest, I really miss my high school days."
I slapped Luo Tianhe on the head.
"Brother, you're starting to miss it? Have you forgotten why we came here? If you really miss it, cut off that lump of flesh between your legs, and I'll send you to school here!"
"Ahem, as I get older, I always like to reminisce."
Luo Tianhe awkwardly stubbed out his cigarette and asked:
"How do we do it? Find a place to climb over? That female security guard looks like she's going through menopause, she's probably not easy to talk to."
In the dimly lit security booth, a plump woman in her forties or fifties with a single ponytail was eating sunflower seeds and looking at her phone.
Judging from her imposing physique, her fighting ability must be astonishing, so forcing her way in is definitely not going to work.
I looked around at Anning Girls' High School. This school has a long history. The white paint on the exterior walls is peeling and worn, revealing the dark bricks underneath.
The wall wasn't high, maybe two meters. I guess because it was a girls' school, there weren't many people climbing over it. There weren't any sharp objects like broken glass on the edge of the wall.
However, the school buildings are quite tall, probably more than ten stories high, so jumping off a building would definitely not be a safe option.
I instinctively activated my third eye and, sure enough, saw a scene that sent chills down my spine.
On the rooftops of each tall teaching building, shadowy, mangled figures lingered.
There are at least a hundred people who have jumped to their deaths at this school!
Seeing my vacant gaze fixed on the distance, and then a look of surprise on my face, Luo Tianhe knew I was using my Heavenly Eye to observe. He nudged me and asked:
"What's wrong? What did you see?"
I snapped out of my daze, my face turning serious:
"This place is even more eerie than I expected. No fewer than a hundred girls have jumped to their deaths, and their vengeful spirits are lingering on the roof of the teaching building."
"Holy crap, so many! Is the education bureau just sitting around doing nothing? How can they keep this school open after all this?"
Li Huai was shocked. After all, this was just a case of someone jumping off a building to their death. There would only be more girls dying in other ways!
"Hehe, that's just how things are in this city. Binhai Building, Qingshan Mental Hospital, Building 14—aren't they all infamous haunted houses?"
Luo Tianhe sneered.
"Let's climb over the wall to get in, but I can't find the layout of this school online, and I don't know how to get to her dorm. Let's call and ask first."
I searched for ages but couldn't find the specific layout of the school, so I had to call the girl:
"How are you? Are you alright? We've arrived at your school gate and are about to climb over the wall. How do I get to your dorm?"
"I'm fine, but I'm really scared. The recording keeps playing and I can't turn it off."
The girl's voice was choked with emotion; she was probably on the verge of a breakdown.
Fortunately, she still retained her rationality and explained her dormitory room number and directions.
"Oh right, I forgot to ask, what's your name?"
"Bai Yang! My name is Bai Yang, the Yang of the sun."
The name is simple, but it exudes a strong yang energy.
The three of us avoided the surveillance cameras and security guards, and walked along the wall to a corner on the side of the school.
This place is not far from Baiyang's dormitory.
"You two step on me first and then get on."
We two are no slouch either. Luo Tianhe can easily climb over this two-meter-high wall without any support, but we can't.
Li Huai was the first to climb onto the wall. He didn't jump down immediately, but instead frowned and looked into the school.
"These are all graves. It's strange. This is a school. Even if someone dies here, the parents take them home to bury them. Why are there so many graves here?"
I climbed up the wall by stepping on Luo Tianhe's shoulders and found that, just as Li Huai had said, the burial mounds here stretched as far as the eye could see.
Soon, Luo Tianhe also climbed up. Without any hesitation, he jumped directly onto a half-meter-high mound of earth.
"Why are you two meddling so much? Aren't there enough strange things happening in this school? Let's go find Bai Yang first, or we might go crazy from fear if we stay any longer."
I thought about it and Luo Tianhe was right, but I'm not as heartless as him, jumping on someone else's grave.
After a moment's thought, fearing he might fall and get seriously injured, Li Huai followed Luo Tianhe's example and jumped onto the grave.
With my third eye open, I can see that although this place is full of graves, at least there are no bloodied and mangled vengeful spirits, which is much better than the school building.
Occasionally, one or two wandering ghosts or spirits might appear, but they pose no threat; in fact, they would run away in fear upon seeing us.
As we walked out of the cemetery, the dormitory building came into view, and we all breathed a sigh of relief. But then a cold wind swept over us.
Even without having clairvoyance, I know there must be many ghosts in the dormitory building.
"This girls' dormitory is so eerie! Even a cemetery would be a feng shui treasure compared to it!"
Li Huai looked conflicted; he always avoided places like this.
"Come on, don't try to act innocent after getting something like raiding a girls' dormitory at night!"
Luo Tianhe said, grimacing.
"Your joke isn't funny at all."
Li Huai looked at me.
"How about we call Bai Yang and ask him to come out? It's not good for three grown men to go into the girls' dormitory, what if we get caught..."
Ignoring the underlying plea in his words, I cast the spell:
"Since we're already here..."
Luo Tianhe patted Li Huai on the shoulder.
“At the entrance of the fourteenth building, I also wanted to run away, and he said the same thing, ‘Since we’re already here.’”
Upon entering, there is a lobby and the dormitory manager's window. Photos of outstanding dormitories are still hanging on the wall, but the photos have faded and yellowed. The girls in the photos have standard smiles, but they lack any vitality.
The dormitory was dimly lit, but it seemed deserted, without a sound.
I peeked into the corridor; the old fluorescent tubes were dim and flickering, occasionally making a hissing sound.
Even though all the dormitory doors were tightly closed, we could still hear whispers.
Suddenly, I saw a figure in an old-fashioned school uniform flash by and disappear at the end of the corridor.
We looked at each other, wondering if any girls would dare to stay in a place like this.
Honestly, if it were a few months ago, I would never have dared to live in a place like this.
