After discussing it, Luo Tianhe and I found a quiet private room at the bathhouse to get a good night's sleep and recharge.
That night, I slept very restlessly, my dreams filled with strange scenes from the Mysterious Furnace.
The next morning, before the sunlight had fully penetrated the clouds, Luo Tianhe hurriedly woke me up.
"Old Chen, get up quickly, the person has arrived."
As he spoke, he rummaged through the room for something.
Then he handed me a hat and a mask.
The mask was the kind that completely covered the face, and it was black, which looked rather strange.
I asked with a puzzled look, "Brother Luo, what are you doing? It's like you're going to rob a bank."
Luo Tianhe rolled his eyes, tugged at his conspicuous white hair, and said irritably.
"How can we face my younger brother looking like this? How are we supposed to explain ourselves? We've only been gone a few days and we're already acting like old fogies?"
When he said that, I suddenly realized what he meant.
Indeed, our sudden aging is quite striking.
Less than two minutes after I put on the hat and mask, there was a knock at the door.
A young woman in uniform pushed open the door and walked in, followed by four young men of different builds.
The person walking at the front was a young man, who looked to be no more than twenty years old.
With brightly dyed hair and a slightly immature face, she had a pair of small, darting eyes that gave off a mischievous air. The dark circles under her eyes were heavy, as if she had been playing cards all night.
Behind him were two burly men, each about 1.8 meters tall.
The two men stood ramrod straight, their eyes revealing a seasoned and resolute spirit, their gazes unwavering, clearly veterans who had served in the military.
Behind them was a tall woman wearing a super short and sexy miniskirt.
When the waiter saw that Luo Tianhe and I were wearing black masks and hats, he was startled and thought he had entered the wrong room.
Seeing this, Luo Tianhe coughed twice and waved his hand, signaling her to go out first.
The waiter, feeling as if he had been granted a pardon, hurriedly left, making sure to gently close the door behind him.
Luo Tianhe looked at the four people and called out, "Haozi, Daxiong, Abiao, and Yanzi, you've arrived."
The leader, nicknamed "Rat," looked at Luo Tianhe with a puzzled expression and asked, "Boss, what's wrong with you? Why are you covered up so tightly?"
Luo Tianhe coughed a few times on purpose: "Have you forgotten that I'm wanted? I can't be recognized like this."
As he spoke, he changed the subject and his expression became serious.
"Now I'm giving you a task: help me lure an old man out."
The mouse scratched its head, looking completely bewildered, and asked, "What are you trying to fool, old man?"
Luo Tianhe took out a photo of Master Jin from his pocket, handed it over, and said, "This is the old man."
Mouse took the photo and stared at it for a moment, then exclaimed, "Isn't this Boss Jin? Boss, what did this Boss Jin do to you? Weren't you two getting along just fine before?"
Luo Tianhe nodded and said, "You don't need to ask any other questions. Just know that it's him. Now listen carefully. You need to pretend to be a rich second-generation heir whose family is plagued by evil spirits and his girlfriend. Then, take two bodyguards and go ask Master Jin for help."
Big Bear couldn't help but interject, "Why go through all this trouble, Brother Luo? It would be much easier if we brothers just tied him up."
Upon hearing this, Luo Tianhe flew into a rage and cursed, "Just do as I say! What can you get out of them if you just tie them up? What if you alert them? Can you handle the consequences?"
Big Bear shrank back after being scolded and dared not utter another word.
Luo Tianhe narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze sharp as a hawk's, sweeping over the faces of Haozi, Daxiong, A Biao, and Yanzi before slowly speaking.
"Mouse, you and Swallow pretend to be a rich second-generation and his girlfriend."
"Also, toned down your slacker attitude a bit, add a bit more arrogance, and bring out that rich kid vibe I usually see when we go out to do business together."
"Remember, you need to act both arrogant and anxious. Your house is haunted by evil spirits, and as the young master, you must be extremely anxious. But you also feel that you are rich and powerful and can handle anything. So you need to be respectful to Master Jin, but you also need to make him feel that you can ask others for help at any time, so put some pressure on him."
After he finished speaking, he turned to look at Yanzi.
"Yanzi, you should take Haozi's arm, pretend to be terrified, hide behind Haozi every now and then, and give Haozi some meaningful glances so that he can continue the conversation."
"You are a rich girl, so you need to act like a delicate and willful person. You should be both expectant and skeptical of Master Jin's abilities. Luo Tianhe shifted his gaze from Haozi and Yanzi to Da Xiong and Abiao.
"You two are strong and healthy, so you can act as bodyguards in this operation. With your skills and presence, you'll be a force to be reckoned with just standing there."
Upon hearing this, a look of resentment instantly appeared on Big Bear's face.
She pursed her lips, looked at Haozi, and said in a muffled voice, "Why can he play the role of a glamorous rich second-generation, while I can only be a bodyguard? Haozi, with that skinny little body, why is he the only one who gets to play that role?"
