Am I the groom?
My mind was buzzing, completely blank, and my consciousness was gradually fading.
My whole body felt light and airy, and in a blur, it felt as if someone was pressing me down to my knees.
In a daze, I picked up the scale bar that symbolized "everything going smoothly" and extended it towards the bride's red veil.
My remaining rationality tells me that I cannot reveal it, I cannot reveal it.
But her arms, out of control, slowly lifted the red veil, revealing Bai Su's delicate little face.
What a nice view!
My hand, as if possessed, reached out and touched her face.
Just as he was about to touch her face, blood suddenly began to seep from Bai Su's face, instantly turning her face bright red.
And her smile became increasingly eerie.
"Chen Lang, am I beautiful?"
Bai Su's deathly pale hand, devoid of any color, rested on my shoulder.
"beautiful!"
I was momentarily dazed.
"Then what are you waiting for? Kiss me..."
Bai Su slowly closed her eyes.
My mind was in a complete mess, and I involuntarily moved closer to her blood-stained lips.
With a "smack," someone slapped my shoulder hard.
I was jolted awake, and everything in front of me began to spin.
The faces around him, some grotesque, some distorted, became increasingly blurred as he spun around, yet they continued to deform in an extremely terrifying way.
Bai Su's face sometimes became enormous and sometimes extremely small as it spun around.
The eerie figures that had been standing around were also twisting wildly, their features like melting wax figures, constantly flowing and deforming.
In the instant that all of this was about to disappear, I felt as if my soul was being torn out of my body by this spinning motion.
His figure, seated high in the hall, gradually became clear amidst the chaos.
As the scene before me changed rapidly, I finally saw that familiar yet unfamiliar face clearly!
That's my grandfather!!
How could it be Grandpa!
Just as I was about to shout, everything in front of me disappeared.
My stomach churned, and a feeling of nausea washed over me.
When I came to my senses again, I found Bai Su, dressed in her wedding gown, sitting upright in the chair in front of me. The red veil on her head had disappeared at some point.
In the flickering candlelight, her face was lifeless, her skin as pale as paper, her lips bluish-purple, and her eyes staring blankly at me.
The exposed skin on their hands showed signs of decay.
"Still looking? You don't want to live anymore!"
Jin Ye's stern shout came from behind.
I quickly turned my head away, too afraid to look.
"Mr. Jin, what brings you here?"
Didn't this old man say the wall was too high to climb over? How come he sneaked in again?
"I'm afraid you'll die."
Jin snorted irritably, took out a red cloth and wrapped it around Bai Su's eyes, then circled her twice.
He clicked his tongue and said, "I didn't realize that Zeng Shoufu was so capable!"
I told him, "Sir, stop looking and hurry up and move the body away."
"Do you think this is like going to the market to buy cabbage? You can't just grab it like that!"
Jin Ye pointed at the thin red threads on Bai Su's body and said irritably, "Do you know what this is? It's called the 'Soul-Suppressing Corpse-Binding Rope,' used to suppress corpses. Once it's untied, the corpse will immediately rise!"
I said since we can't steal the body, we might as well just perform the ritual here and let it pass on to the afterlife.
"Don't you even understand common sense? Didn't Old Dog Chen teach you anything?"
Jin Ye was utterly exasperated: "Can you even perform a ritual here? Do you want her to be reincarnated, or to become a god?"
This won't work, that won't work, what are we doing here?
To pay respects to the deceased?
Seeing me pick up the chainsaw and walk towards Bai Su, Jin Ye exclaimed, "What are you going to do?"
I gripped the chainsaw tightly and said, "If scriptures can't deliver the dead, then I'll use physical means!"
Isn't she capable of rising from the dead? I'll saw her into countless pieces and see how she rises again.
Since her soul couldn't be released, I took her body parts to a temple and had them mingle with the Buddhist prayer beads.
Or you can expose it to the scorching sun, and subject it to all sorts of things like feces, black dog blood, etc., and kill it all, no matter what kind of demons or monsters it is!
"It's possible, but it goes against human ethics..."
That's exactly what I've been waiting for.
Since it's possible, then I won't stand on ceremony.
I took a deep breath, turned on the chainsaw, and placed it on Bai Su's head, intending to saw her head off first.
"What a terrible thing to do!"
Jin kept slapping his thigh: "Do you even understand? Saw off the legs first, the corpse will stand up first!"
I took a moment to give a thumbs up: "Professional!"
Although Bai Su's body was sitting, her skin had already decomposed severely.
The skirt was covered with tiny holes. When you lifted it, you could see that some of the skin and flesh had peeled off and was hanging down to the side.
As the saw slowly cut into the flesh of her leg, the scene was like cutting open a piece of bread that had long since rotted and was full of maggots.
From where the saw cut, putrid liquid gushed out from the gaps, flowing everywhere, with tiny white maggots floating on top.
Even the bones were brittle; they broke in two with the slightest touch.
As I was sawing, a hand suddenly landed on my shoulder and pressed down hard on my arm.
"Was it sawed incorrectly?"
Without even looking up, I placed the severed legs aside.
Just as I was about to saw off my hand, Jin's voice sounded behind me, low and menacing: "Don't move, the corpse has risen!"
I slowly raised my head, and what came into view were Bai Su's eyes, which were no longer covered by the red cloth.
His dark eyes were brimming with venomous resentment, staring straight at me.
