Chapter 1110 The Reason for the Incident

Ning Zhiheng thought about it carefully and asked, "Tell me the whereabouts of Ono and the other two, and I'll arrange for someone else to follow them and find out who their target is."

"They and I were put together in a high-class hotel near the Special Higher Police, called the Tomita Hotel. It was a hotel exclusively for the Special Higher Police, and most of the guests were Japanese."

Ning Zhiheng instructed, "Alright, after you go back, don't deliberately inquire about any details of this matter. Disavow any connection with it. I will send someone else to follow up!"

"Yes, by the way, Wen Hao wants to visit you tomorrow. He said he's acquired some fine antiques and wants to send them to you. He was wondering if it would be convenient for you?"

"Haha, it's always a good thing to receive a gift, bring him over here!"

Meanwhile, in Yuji Imai's office in the Special Higher Police, Yuji Imai and Ono were sitting opposite each other, listening to their reports.

Ono Matsunaga took a photograph out of his briefcase, respectfully handed it to Imai Yuji, and said, "It's the person in the middle of this photograph!"

Yuji Imai took the photo and examined it carefully. The photo was a half-body frontal group photo of three men. They were all around the same age, probably in their early thirties. The man in the middle had a square face, wore gold-rimmed glasses, and had a refined appearance.

"This person looks familiar, I feel like I've seen him somewhere before!" Yuji Imai said uncertainly. Suddenly, he seemed to remember something and brought the photo close to his eyes to examine it carefully for a moment.

“I remember now, he is Takasugi Hitoshi, the chief reporter of United Daily News. I saw him when I went to United Daily News before. How could it be him?”

Ono Matsunaga nodded emphatically, confirming, "You're right, it's Takasugi Hitoshi!"

Next, Ono Matsunaga gave Imai Yuji a detailed account of what had happened.

Long ago, communist ideology was prevalent in Japanese society, and it even showed signs of intensifying. Faced with the increasingly heated propaganda of red ideology and social and political movements, the Japanese leadership decided to crack down on it severely and use coercive measures to prevent the spread of such ideology.

These tasks were handed over to the Special Higher Police Section, also known as the Special Higher Police, an agency under the Japanese Ministry of Home Affairs that has always been responsible for dealing with domestic incidents.

Under the strong suppression of the Special Higher Police, the Japanese communist organization was quickly dealt a heavy blow, its social activities went underground, and it disappeared for a time.

However, in recent years, Japanese communist organizations have resumed their activities, prompting the Special Higher Police (THD) to launch another investigation. Not long ago, someone reported a communist individual named Mihara Kashiwagi. The THD dispatched personnel to arrest him, but an unexpected incident occurred during the arrest.

Mihara Kashiwa jumped out of the window to escape, but was hit and killed on the spot by an oncoming car. The Tokyo Special Higher Police failed to capture him alive, but when they searched the room, they found a photograph of three young men, one of whom was Mihara Kashiwa. After investigation and identification, the other two men were confirmed to be Japanese journalist Takasugi Jinki.

They quickly discovered that Takasugi Jinki had been working in China for several years and was currently the chief reporter for the United News Agency in Nanjing. Therefore, they sent Ono Matsunaga and Abe Rikuzan to China to arrest Takasugi Jinki and bring him back to Japan for interrogation in order to investigate domestic communist organizations.

Upon hearing Ono Matsunaga's account, Imai Yuji frowned, threw the photo in his hand onto the table, and asked with some disappointment, "Just because of a photo? You can conclude that Takasugi Hitoshi is a communist? You went all the way to China to arrest him, isn't that a bit too sloppy?"

Ono Matsunaga explained, "We investigated before and found that Takasugi Hitoshi and Mihara Kashiwagi were very close back in Japan, and..."

At this point, Ono Matsunaga reached out and flipped the photo on the table over, pointing to a line of text on it.

Yuji Imai picked up the photo and saw a line of Japanese text clearly written on the back.

The message reads: "Workers of the world, unite!"
