Ning Zhiheng regained consciousness and slowly withdrew his left hand from Ikeda Kosuke's forehead. He also released his hair with his right hand and tossed aside the drooping head.
His sudden act of killing caught everyone off guard. Gu Zhengqi and Yu Cheng looked at Ning Zhiheng, whose face was still covered in blood, and a chill ran down their spines.
Even Wang Shucheng and Sun Jiacheng, who were standing to the side, were terrified. Ning Zhiheng usually tried to be as calm and gentle as possible towards them, but today they saw the ruthless side of their team leader.
Gu Zhengqi quickly chuckled and said, "Alright, it's getting late. We also need to keep an eye on Gu Wenshi's case over there. Zhiheng, I won't bother you any longer!"
After he finished speaking, he gestured to Yu Cheng, and the two of them nodded to Ning Zhiheng before hurriedly leaving the interrogation room.
Not far from the interrogation room, Yu Cheng asked in a low voice, "Section Chief, should we continue to keep an eye on Ning Zhiheng?"
Gu Zhengqi stood with his hands behind his back, his face darkening. He blinked and thought for a long time before saying in a deep voice, "Let's just forget about it. Ning Zhiheng is so violent that he'll kill people if he turns on them. We shouldn't provoke him right now."
Yu Cheng was also shaken after hearing this. These people were all veteran agents, and each of them had several lives on their hands. In terms of methods and courage, they were all top-notch. However, seeing Ning Zhiheng's fierce and ferocious face today, they couldn't help but feel a little afraid.
Thinking back to the scene in the interrogation room today, Yu Cheng couldn't help but sigh: "Today, Ning Zhiheng killed a suspect without authorization during the interrogation. This is a violation of regulations and should be recorded. This guy really didn't have any scruples or hesitation. He just spat out some blood, and he turned around and killed him. He's a ruthless character!"
Gu Zhengqi shook his head with a wry smile and said to Yu Cheng, "You only realize how dangerous this kid is now, right? Don't underestimate him just because he's fresh out of school. Some people are born ruthless. People like Ning Zhiheng are ruthless from the bottom of their hearts, unlike ordinary people who need to go through trials and tribulations to become indifferent to life and death."
I knew long ago that this kid was no pushover. Don't be fooled by his gentle and smiling attitude towards us old guys; his eyes don't lie.
Others may appear cold-blooded to mask their inner weaknesses, but Ning Zhiheng is the complete opposite. He may appear gentle, but he is cold to the core! People say I'm a smiling tiger, but this guy is the real ruthless one.
Besides, given Ning Zhiheng's current status, what's the big deal about killing a suspect or two? Especially since he personally apprehended this suspect. Would anyone be so foolish as to accuse him of murder to cover up a crime? Furthermore, this suspect is no longer of any use for interrogation; keeping him alive is pointless. His death is no big deal!
At this point, he sighed: "It seems we still have to figure out a way ourselves; we can't get any advantage out of him!"
Let's focus our efforts on Gu Wenshi. He doesn't look like he can hold on for more than two days. Let's work harder these next couple of days and hopefully get some good results so we can give the director a satisfactory explanation.
At this moment, Ning Zhiheng also ordered the interrogators to drag away Ikeda Kosuke's body, and turned to Sun Jiacheng to order: "Immediately take some capable people and find out the situation of that Daming Cotton Mill as soon as possible. You have experience in terrain reconnaissance, so you are good at this kind of thing."
"Yes, I'll take care of it right away!" Sun Jiacheng quickly accepted the order and left.
Ning Zhiheng then strode out of the interrogation room, with Wang Shucheng following closely behind. Ning Zhiheng instructed, "Have your men stand by. Once it gets dark and those Japanese spies have all returned to their hideouts, we'll wipe them all out in one fell swoop!"
Wang Shucheng quickly nodded in agreement and turned to arrange manpower and prepare for the night's operation.
Ning Zhiheng returned to his office, where Nie Tianming, the third action team leader who had been carrying out a city-wide manhunt, also rushed back to report to him.
When Ning Zhiheng saw Nie Tianming come in, he said happily, "Tianming, you're back just in time. No one is allowed to leave the Military Intelligence Investigation Department. Be on standby at all times. We have an operation tonight."
Nie Tianming was overjoyed to hear this. His third action team had been transferred by Ning Zhiheng to carry out a city-wide manhunt, but after six days they had found nothing.
But as soon as I got back, I heard from the team leader that there was a big operation going on, so I quickly nodded and went to carry out the order.
Ning Zhiheng watched Nie Tianming leave before locking the door and returning to his seat. Only now did he have time to recall the images he had captured from Ikeda Kosuke's mind earlier that day. He closed his eyes and carefully replayed them in his mind.
The first image is naturally a scene of Kosuke Ikeda living at home during his childhood. This should be a family that makes a living by fishing by the sea, and this image is not of much value.
The second image is similar; it likely depicts Kosuke Ikeda during his training after joining an intelligence organization in his youth, and it holds little value.
The third scene is quite dangerous and intense. This should be the most memorable and dangerous experience in Kosuke Ikeda's intelligence career, otherwise he would not have recalled this scene before his death. But it has no value to Ning Zhiheng.
The fourth image contains a great deal of information. Judging from the scene, it appears that a Japanese spy organization has captured a Chinese man. Kosuke Ikeda and his colleagues are torturing the man with electric shocks and interrogating him about the whereabouts of his other accomplices.
The scene was almost identical to the one where he interrogated Kosuke Ikeda, so Kosuke Ikeda, seizing the opportunity, triggered this memory, and that's when this image appeared in his mind.
Looking at Kosuke Ikeda's appearance inside, it's exactly the same as now, which means that the events in his memory are very close to the present. What Ning Zhiheng cares about most is the final fate of this man.
