Deng Yuankai opened the office door and walked out, then turned around and locked the door. He was not going to come back. Pei Tai's body could not be discovered by others too early, otherwise he would not have time to evacuate Shanghai.
Deng Yuankai walked along the corridors and stairwells, where his men stood at attention, their bodies ramrod straight.
Deng Yuankai quickly arrived at Cui Guangqi's office door. The two agents immediately stood at attention and saluted. Deng Yuankai smiled and nodded in acknowledgment, took a deep breath, and gently knocked on the door.
"Come in!" Cui Guangqi's voice rang out.
Deng Yuankai pushed the door open and entered, then turned around and closed it.
Seeing that Deng Yuankai looked tired, Cui Guangqi asked with concern, "Your health hasn't been very good lately. You should see a traditional Chinese medicine doctor to take care of yourself."
Deng Yuankai shook his head and said, "Actually, it's just that I haven't been resting well. I always have insomnia and vivid dreams, and now I don't know what's wrong with my body. I always feel very tired and have no energy. I felt much better after lying down for a while!"

"Oh, he told me," he said, taking two steps forward seemingly casually, "He had a few sips of wine earlier, but he was afraid you'd scold him, so he's been waiting outside!"
“This kid is getting more and more disobedient. Go and call him in. I’ll give you the specific instructions for the operation,” Cui Guangqi said angrily.
Deng Yuankai knew immediately that if he got any closer, Cui Guangqi would become suspicious. But he couldn't back down now. Once he left the office, he would never have another chance to get close to Cui Guangqi, because he had already silenced Pei Tai. How could he possibly bring Pei Tai back?

Cui Guangqi sat upright in his chair, holding a Browning pistol, the muzzle pointed directly at Deng Yuankai.
His thin, pale face contorted with rage. He leaped forward and swiftly appeared in front of Deng Yuankai, kicking the gun out of his hand.
At that moment, the guards outside heard the gunshots, kicked open the door, and rushed in with their guns in hand.
But what they saw stunned them. Deng Yuankai was lying on the ground, and Cui Guangqi was pointing a pistol at him. This scene left them completely bewildered. They stared blankly at Cui Guangqi, waiting for his orders.
"Why? Why?" Cui Guangqi gritted his teeth and roared at the fallen Deng Yuankai.
Deng Yuankai was shot three times, blood was flowing out continuously, his chest was heaving violently, he felt cold all over, his consciousness was gradually fading, and his pupils were gradually dilating.
"I...I want...to go...home!"
He barely opened his mouth, managing to utter a few words intermittently before being unable to speak another. His head lolled to the side, his eyes wide open, staring straight ahead in the direction of his hometown, dying with his eyes wide open in disbelief!

After venting his fear and turmoil, Cui Guangqi, panting heavily, gradually calmed down. His body swayed slightly as he slowly walked back to his office, slumped into his chair, and leaned back weakly, ordering, "Go find Pei Tai immediately. I need to know if he's dead or alive!"
