Chapter 51 The Situation Reversed

Police chiefs are allowed to carry guns, but patrol officers only have batons. Wang Maocai thought that as soon as he pulled out that gun, Liu Datou and the other patrol officers would all be scared to death.

But to everyone's surprise, Liu Datong simply tossed his head back, glanced sideways, and didn't take it seriously at all. He pointed his thumb to his chest and said coldly, "Wang the Skinflint, if you have the guts, shoot me right here. If you don't dare to shoot today, you're a son of a bitch!"

Liu Datong was desperate. He knew that even if Wang Bapi had the guts, he wouldn't dare to actually shoot him. No matter how arrogant he was, he wouldn't be so arrogant as to dare to shoot a colleague in full view of everyone. If he really fired, he would be finished too.

When Liu Dacheng unleashed his reckless attitude, he actually intimidated Wang Ba Maocai. If Liu Dacheng really wanted to cause trouble, there wasn't much that could be done for the time being; he couldn't very well actually fire a gun!

At this moment, Police Chief Tang Xiaoshan also heard the news and rushed over, his chubby body panting heavily as he ran.

Seeing dozens of people arguing and making a scene, even with Wang Maocai having drawn his gun, he immediately shouted, "Stop it! What's going on? Are you trying to rebel?!"

Wang Maocai was in a difficult situation when he saw Director Tang coming over, and he was overjoyed.

He ran up to Director Tang and said, "Director, this Liu Datou suddenly went crazy and led a group of people to break into the detention center to rob prisoners. Luckily, I discovered it in time, otherwise he would have succeeded."

Liu Datong also got anxious upon hearing this and retorted, "Reporting to the director, I was the one who brought these two criminals back, as you know. But Wang Bapi didn't follow the rules and robbed them on the way, so I had nothing to say. After all, his rank is higher than mine."

"I'm here to take the prisoner to the military intelligence department for interrogation. Wang Bapi is blocking us and even dared to draw his gun and threaten his colleagues. You must uphold justice in this matter."

"Shut up, you dare call me 'Wang the Skinflint'!" Tang Xiaoshan glared at him, then suddenly seemed to remember something. "I know? Which case?"

Liu Datong quickly said, "It was the case on Beihua Street fifteen days ago. The military intelligence department arrested three ruthless bandits, killing two and capturing one alive."

During the search, they asked us to assist, and I even consulted you about it. Two human traffickers were also apprehended during the search, which I reported to you.

Director Tang then remembered that something like this had happened about two weeks ago. The criminal had been brought back, and Liu Datong seemed to have mentioned that the criminal was arrested by the Military Intelligence Department.

He didn't pay much attention to it, assuming it was just his subordinates trying to skim some money, something that happened quite often, so he didn't think much of it. Now, looking back, he realizes things have gotten a bit out of hand.

Thinking of this, he had a bad feeling. He quickly whispered to Wang Maocai beside him, "Have you figured it out? What are the backgrounds of these two criminals?"

Wang Maocai curled his lip and said dismissively, "They really are just two human traffickers. You don't believe my eyes, Chief? At most, they were just caught by the Military Intelligence Department as a side job."

Nobody else took it seriously; it's just that Liu Datou has become arrogant and jealous, making a mountain out of a molehill. Now he's even using the Military Intelligence Bureau's name to directly snatch prisoners. These guys are desperate for money!

Director Tang nodded, quite agreeing. If they were really just two human traffickers, the Military Intelligence Bureau wouldn't even consider them a threat. Besides, this Wang the Skinflint only hogs the spoils from his subordinates. Every time he extorts benefits, he has to first give them to the director, otherwise, why would he promote him to sergeant?

Thinking of this, Director Tang glared at Liu Datou and roared, "Liu Datong, you dare to openly disobey orders! I think you're no longer fit to live. Believe me or not, I'll lock you up right now and take your men back. If there's a next time, I'll skin you alive and send you to jail for a few years."

In fact, Director Tang understood that the problem stemmed from Wang Maocai's disregard for rules and his extortion of money, which was tantamount to murdering one's parents.

However, considering that this guy is quite sensible and has shown me respect, I still have to clean up his mess.

All he could do was reprimand Liu Datong, but he had missed a sentence: Liu Datong said that if they were to take someone away, they would have to hand them over to the military intelligence department for interrogation!

Upon hearing Director Tang's words, Wang Maocai and his men felt much more at ease. They realized they couldn't fight city hall; Liu Datou was going to suffer this time.

Even the brothers behind Liu Datong started to feel uneasy. Although they had followed Datou for quite some time, they still had families to support and relied on their coattails for a living.

The leader claimed he had powerful backers and had even offered several substantial bounties, but since they hadn't witnessed it firsthand, they were unsure and exchanged hesitant glances. Finally, their eyes all turned to Liu Datong.

Liu Datong, however, remained completely calm. He calculated the time; Commander Ning should be arriving soon. So he said sternly, "Some people just won't learn their lesson until they hit a brick wall! They don't believe me, Liu Datou! Fine, then arrest me. But let me make this clear: if things get out of hand, don't come looking for me, Liu Datou!"

After saying that, he stretched out his hand and offered to be handcuffed. Director Tang and Wang Maocai were stunned to see Liu Datong being so straightforward.

Director Tang began to feel uneasy. What kind of person was Liu Datou? He'd been in the police force for over ten years; everyone knew him. But now he suddenly seemed like a completely different person; something was definitely fishy.

His suspicious gaze swept over Wang Maocai, but Wang Maocai, faced with the imminent danger, dared not back down and forced himself to remain calm.

Just then, a commotion erupted behind them. Someone shouted, "What are you all doing, all huddled together like this? Everyone, get out of the way!"
