Chapter 538 Saving Relatives

In the police chief's office, Cheng Xucai sat leisurely in his chair and asked Police Chief Liu Bin, who was standing in front of him, "The confession hasn't been obtained yet?"

Liu Bin nodded and replied, "This kid looks like a scholar, but he's really tough. I've interrogated so many prisoners, and I've rarely seen one who can be beaten like this and still not utter a sound."

Cheng Xucai, however, did not take it seriously. They had done these kinds of things many times and had seen all kinds of people. How long could they hold out with their stubbornness?

"This kid is naive. He thinks he can get away with it by not confessing. He's going to die sooner or later. Go and grab his parents and deal with them in front of him. Let's see how long he can last."

Liu Bin smiled ingratiatingly and said, "Director, why go through all this trouble? Just give him his fingerprints directly. I don't think this kid will admit it. If he does, he'll be dead, not to mention his whole family will be implicated. To be honest, there's no point in going through with the interrogation. This kid's attitude is like that of a Communist Party member; he's got a ruthless streak!"

Cheng Xucai rolled his eyes and scolded, "What do you know? This case is going to be a case of treason. So many lives have been lost, and you're just going to kill people based on a single fingerprint? What if someone checks it? We need to solidify the evidence to be on the safe side!"

"In this world, human life is like grass, who cares about these things?" Liu Bin laughed dismissively, but seeing the fierce look Cheng Xucai shot at him, he immediately swallowed his words. "Yes, Director, you're right. Better safe than sorry. I'll go and arrest his father right now and see if this kid is still so stubborn."

Having followed Cheng Xucai for many years, he naturally knew what kind of person the other party was—a vicious wolf that would devour people without spitting out the bones.

Just as he turned to leave, the office door was kicked open, and a policeman was shoved in. A group of soldiers rushed in after him, their cold gun barrels pointed at the two people inside.

"Who is Cheng Xucai?" the leading officer asked in a cold voice.

Cheng Xucai and Liu Bin were stunned and bewildered by the scene before them. Cheng Xucai, having experienced some hardships, forced himself to remain calm, coughed lightly, and said, "I just..."

"Arrest him!" The officer knew that Cheng Xucai was the one who had spoken up, so he ignored what Cheng Xucai was saying and ordered his arrest.

Two team members stepped forward and slammed their pistols down hard, the butts striking Cheng Xucai's face, causing blood to flow freely.

Cheng Xucai let out a scream, but another team member punched him in the stomach. The intense pain immediately silenced him, and he curled up. The two team members handcuffed his hands behind his back and pressed him against the table, rendering him unable to move!

These team members used violent methods without any restraint, which frightened Chief Liu Bin so much that his legs went weak and his lips trembled, leaving him speechless.

The officer looked at Cheng Xucai and continued, "We are from the Operations Division of the Military Intelligence Bureau. Our director is waiting for you downstairs. Come with us now!"

Upon hearing this, Cheng Xucai and Liu Bin turned deathly pale. Their superior was the Military Intelligence Bureau. If they were little devils in hell, then the agents in the Military Intelligence Bureau were the real demons. They would find an excuse to kill for money, but the Military Intelligence Bureau didn't even need an excuse. They killed people like grass!

Upon hearing that the head of the Military Intelligence Bureau's Action Department wanted to see him, Cheng Xucai's legs trembled with fear. He asked in a trembling voice, "Sir, I don't know if I have offended you in any way. Please tell me, I would be extremely grateful!"

The officer didn't have the patience to deal with him; the section chief was still waiting for news in the lobby downstairs, and he dared not delay.

"And this person, take him away too!"

Two more team members stepped forward and handcuffed Liu Bin, who was too frightened to speak, and then pushed and shoved the two men away.

In the lobby of the police station, Tan Jinhui sat upright in a chair, surrounded by his team members who had taken control of the lobby. More than a dozen police officers were forced to squat against the wall in a corner, secretly watching these fierce-looking men.

Seeing these usually arrogant and domineering black-skinned policemen now acting like docile sheep, obediently awaiting his judgment, Tan Jinhui felt a surge of exhilarating pleasure.

Soon, Cheng Xucai and Liu Bin were brought down. The officer came up to Tan Jinhui, stood at attention, and saluted, saying, "Chief, this is Cheng Xucai!"

Upon hearing this, Tan Jinhui immediately stood up, grabbed Cheng Xucai by the collar, and demanded sharply, "Where are Jiang Bo'an and Tan Yuanfeng? Where is Jiang Wenbo now? Speak!"

Cheng Xucai naturally knew that the young colonel in front of him was the director of the Military Intelligence Bureau's Action Department. Such a big shot was unreachable to him, someone he could never even see normally. Now, however, he had grabbed him and was urgently asking about Jiang Bo'an's whereabouts.

This is terrible! Cheng Xucai felt dizzy, his mouth tasted bitter, and he was filled with remorse.

Needless to say, this section chief knows Jiang Bo'an. Judging from his anxious look, the two must have an extraordinary relationship. This time, I have definitely kicked a hornet's nest!

Those two bastards, Pershing and Song Wenhua, ruined my life!

"Chief, they're in the prison behind here. I'll take you there!" Cheng Xucai quickly replied.

"Go!" Sun Jiacheng kicked Cheng Xucai, sending him sprawling.

Inside the prison, in the interrogation room, a young man, his flesh mangled and bloodied, was bound to a wooden stake. His body was covered in bloodstains, and long bamboo skewers were stuck in his ten fingers, from which drops of blood dripped. His head drooped limply, and his swollen eye sockets squeezed his eyes into narrow slits. A flash of extreme anger occasionally appeared in his eyes. He was none other than Tan Jinhui's cousin, Jiang Wenbo.
