Chapter 730 Brothers Reunited

That evening, Ning Zhiheng dismissed his bodyguards and drove out of the villa alone in a car. He stopped the car in the next block on Hubu Street, and then got out of the car carrying a leather suitcase.

He performed several anti-tracking maneuvers, crossed a block, confirmed that there were no tails behind him, and then arrived at the Lianfeng Hotel.

Upon entering the hotel lobby, he glanced around, checked his watch—the time was just right—and quickly went to a private room, gently knocking on the door.

Meanwhile, Miao Yongyi, dressed in a suit, was anxiously waiting for his contact to arrive. Hearing the knock on the door, Miao Yongyi perked up.

As the person entered, turned around and closed the door tightly, then put down the suitcase in his hand, Miao Yongyi immediately recognized the person. He and Ning Zhiheng had grown up together since childhood, and he knew Ning Zhiheng extremely well. He recognized him at a glance.

Ning Zhiheng turned around, took off his top hat, and looked at Miao Yongyi with a smile. Miao Yongyi had already come up to him and hugged Ning Zhiheng's shoulder with a happy expression. The two brothers hugged each other and patted each other's backs heavily before separating.

Miao Yongyi had already guessed it in his heart, and sure enough, Ning Zhiheng showed up here. The two sat facing each other, and Miao Yongyi asked in a low voice, "When I received the notice a few days ago, I heard that the meeting was at the Lianfeng Hotel, so I guessed it might be you. What's wrong? What big thing happened that required you, the senior director, to personally come!"

Ning Zhiheng smiled slightly and said, "There are indeed some things that need to be taken care of, so I had to make this trip. It's been such a long time since I've seen you, so I wanted to let you know so I could come and meet you."

Miao Yongyi also sighed with emotion, nodding and saying, "Yes, in the blink of an eye, it's been almost a year since we last saw each other. Time really flies!"

Looking back on his year of undercover work, Miao Yongyi was filled with mixed emotions. His outgoing and cheerful personality made him unsuitable for being a secret agent, but he had no choice but to accept the organization's arrangement to join the Military Intelligence Bureau. Especially during his time undercover in Wuhan, without Ning Zhiheng's protection, he could only learn to disguise and hide, immersing himself in the role he was playing. In the brutal struggle, he did learn a lot and changed a lot. Fortunately, so far, everything has been going smoothly.

Ning Zhiheng coughed lightly and asked, "Tell me about your situation since we parted ways, and how is Miyahara Ryohei, the target you've been tracking, doing now?"

Miao Yongyi quickly sat up straight and reported to Ning Zhiheng: "After you left, I continued to carry out the task of monitoring and tracking Miyahara Ryohei, but this person is very cautious and there has been no unusual movement."

Later, when the Japanese army entered Wuhan, we found ourselves in a difficult situation. We had no choice but to lead our men to the emergency contact point at Wuhan Station, which you had given us. That's when we learned that I had been appointed as the operations captain of Wuhan Station.

Ning Zhiheng nodded and said, "I know you were isolated and helpless in Wuhan, so I arranged for you to be stationed at Wuhan Station. Station Chief Xie Wang was initially unwilling, thinking that our Second Operations Division had ulterior motives. Later, I had Bian Ze personally send a telegram to pressure him, and he finally agreed!"

It took some effort to arrange for Miao Yongyi to be parachuted in as the action team leader at Wuhan Station. Xie Wang had just taken over Wuhan Station and naturally wanted to place his own confidants there. He thought that Ning Zhiheng wanted to infiltrate Wuhan Station and plant spies, so he firmly disagreed.

The Second Operations Division's authority primarily rests with the military, and they have no jurisdiction over these local intelligence stations. In the end, Ning Zhiheng had Bian Ze, who was in charge of intelligence work against the enemy, speak up before the arrangements were made.

"How was it? Did Jie Wang make things difficult for you?" Ning Zhiheng asked, still somewhat worried.

Miao Yongyi chuckled, raised an eyebrow, and said, "Of course! In the beginning, he really caused me a lot of trouble. He wouldn't give me any money or people. Fortunately, I had Qiu Zishi, Hao Yi, and a few other brothers with me, as well as the funds you left me. We managed to hold things together until we arrested Xin Xiangrong. Only then did Jie Wang accept me. Now we're all at peace, and he trusts me a lot."

"Xin Xiangrong?" Ning Zhiheng asked curiously, "Who is he?"

Miao Yongyi replied, "He was the former head of the general affairs department at the Wuhan station. He was the intelligence agent that Miyahara Ryohei was in charge of liaison with, and he was also the mole we had been looking for."

It turns out that after the Japanese army occupied Wuhan, Miyahara Ryohei did not resume his identity as a special agent of the Japanese Special Higher Police. Instead, he continued to disguise himself as a company employee, going to get off work and leaving work normally, waiting to contact his intelligence agents at any time.

Miao Yongyi had never relaxed his surveillance of Miyahara Ryohei. Finally, his efforts paid off. One day at the end of last year, they discovered that Miyahara Ryohei was in contact with a suspicious man, who turned out to be Xin Xiangrong, the head of the general affairs department of the Wuhan intelligence station.

The intelligence station suffered heavy losses in several operations, and its situation was extremely difficult. It had no choice but to break up all its personnel and hide in various parts of Wuhan. This was the low point for the intelligence station.

The sudden appearance of Xin Xiangrong, the head of the general affairs department, surprised Miao Yongyi and the others. They never expected that the mole they had been searching for all this time would be Xin Xiangrong.

Miao Yongyi was worried that Xin Xiangrong, the head of the General Affairs Department, would reveal the hidden location of the intelligence station to Miyahara Ryohei. If that were the case, the already demoralized intelligence station would suffer a devastating blow, or even be completely wiped out.

Miao Yongyi immediately ordered the arrest of the two men who were meeting, and then reported it to Xie Wang, the head of the intelligence station. At first, Xie Wang was reluctant to believe it. Xin Xiangrong was his old subordinate of many years. Xin Xiangrong was originally going to be withdrawn to Chongqing headquarters, but Xie Wang made a special request to keep Xin Xiangrong as his chief steward. He just couldn't believe that Xin Xiangrong would be a traitor.
