Chapter 732 Sightseeing

On this day, Ning Zhiheng, accompanied by Yamada Nobuyuki, came to a snack street. Wuhan has a wide variety of snacks, and this place is a well-known snack gathering place in the vicinity.

To facilitate their travels, Ning Zhiheng and Yamada Nobuyuki were dressed simply in suits. Their bodyguards and Special Higher Police agents were also in plain clothes, following closely behind to protect them. From their appearance, it was impossible to tell that they were Japanese.

Ning Zhiheng sat down next to a hot dry noodles stall, with Yamada Nobuyuki sitting beside him.

Ning Zhiheng looked around and saw that this food stall was doing the best business, with a lot of customers gathered there. He smiled and said, "I deliberately skipped breakfast today, so I came here to try some Wuhan cuisine."

Yamada Nobuyuki chimed in, "I also really enjoy Chinese cuisine. It certainly has a unique flavor, though it's a bit stronger than what we usually eat. Do you like it, sir?"

Ning Zhiheng nodded and said, "I have been wandering outside for many years and I am quite used to the food. Chinese food is generally sweet in the south and salty in the north. Wuhan is considered to be quite good."

As the two were talking, the food stall owner brought them two bowls of hot dry noodles. The hot dry noodles at this food stall did indeed look very appealing, no wonder the business was so good.

The dry noodles are topped with spiced sesame paste, sauce, and chili oil, and sprinkled with salty and spicy radish cubes and chopped scallions. The noodles are yellow and oily, making them look incredibly appetizing.

Ning Zhiheng picked up a pair of chopsticks and said to Yamada Nobuyuki with a smile, "The dry noodles here are really good. They look much better than the ones I had a few days ago."

He has been traveling around Wuhan these past few days and has tried many of the city's unique snacks, but he thinks today's dry noodles are really good.

Nobuyuki Yamada nodded in agreement. The two of them stopped talking and started eating. They found the noodles to be thin, smooth, and chewy, and the sauce to be rich, flavorful, and delicious with a refreshing spiciness. The taste was excellent.

Ning Zhiheng suddenly had a great appetite and quickly finished the dry noodles in his bowl, nodding repeatedly and giving the food stall owner a thumbs up.

The food stall owner knew from their conversation that the two men were actually Japanese, so he didn't dare to say much to them and just nodded with a smile.

“Very good, please have another bowl!” Ning Zhiheng continued.

Nobuyuki Yamada laughed and introduced, "Sir, you can try the bean curd sheets here; they taste quite good."

"Haha, Yamada-kun, I didn't expect you to be a gourmet too!"

In fact, Ning Zhiheng was unaware that Yamada Nobuyuki had done his homework beforehand and had already learned about the place before bringing Ning Zhiheng here, determined to satisfy this Mr. Fujiwara.

Just as the two were chatting and laughing, there were five or six other diners not far behind them. They were all young and strong men, some wearing suits and others wearing short jackets. They looked quite ordinary. They had been sitting here eating before Ning Zhiheng and the others arrived, and they were chatting with each other from time to time.

Ning Zhiheng had keen hearing and overheard quite a bit of what was happening while eating noodles. He was somewhat surprised to find that the accents of the people speaking varied, some from the south and some from the north.

The conversation was uneventful, mainly discussing the differences between northern and southern Chinese cuisine. However, one of the diners ended up talking about Japanese food, comparing Chinese and Japanese cuisine. To Ning Zhiheng's surprise, the other diners nodded in agreement, which immediately caught his attention.

Looking at these people's attire, they seemed no different from ordinary people. However, in this day and age, Chinese people rarely have the opportunity to eat Japanese food. Authentic Japanese restaurants and eateries are quite expensive, making it difficult for ordinary people to afford them. Yet, these people, despite their ordinary appearance, seemed to know a great deal about Japanese cuisine, which made Ning Zhiheng sense something unusual.

Ning Zhiheng sensed something was wrong and turned to look at them a few more times. Kimura Maki, who was standing next to him, also tensed up when he saw the chairman's attention turn to these diners. He had accompanied the chairman through several assassination attempts and was usually very vigilant, not daring to make the slightest mistake.

He gave a silent signal, and the other bodyguards reacted as well, their scrutinizing gazes sweeping over the diners.

However, these diners behaved normally. They greeted the food stall owner familiarly, placed a few bills on the table, smiled, and turned to leave. They were obviously regulars who ate here often.

Yamada Nobuyuki waved his hand to indicate to his agents that they didn't need to worry about it, and whispered, "Sir, please rest assured, these people are fine!"

Ning Zhiheng was taken aback for a moment after hearing this, but quickly smiled and didn't pay any more attention to it. However, when Yamada Nobuyuki got up to go to the tent, he slowly walked up to a bodyguard and whispered, "Follow these people from a distance and tell me their whereabouts when you come back!"
