After leaving the private room, Zhang Pei glanced at the four young men sitting in the hall. These were the men Ma Hong had arranged to be there. He hesitated for a moment, then quickly walked out of the restaurant.
Arriving outside the door, he paused deliberately, pondered for a moment, slowly raised his right hand to comb his hair a few times, and then strode towards the hotel across the street!
Lu Ming and Zhang Pei had worked together for many years and knew each other very well. Just as he was about to leave, he could feel a hint of wariness in Lu Ming's eyes.
Even if Lu Ming didn't suspect him, he didn't plan to listen to Ma Hong and infiltrate the underground party. Lu Ming had instructed him to write a detailed account of his seven years of experience, and to arrange for a special investigation and review.
Needless to say, he was arrested in a mountain village, and many villagers witnessed his arrest. If anyone with a keen eye investigates, his true colors will be revealed immediately.
As for fabricating life experiences, how easy is that? In real life, there always needs to be people around you who can see you, observe you, and interact with you. Where can you find these people in a short time to corroborate your fabricated experiences? The fabricated experiences would likely be full of flaws and wouldn't stand up to scrutiny!
I never imagined that underground organizations would have such strict vetting and screening processes! My previous work experience alone is far from enough.
Since we cannot achieve the first objective, we can only proceed with the second plan!
"Damn it! This guy doesn't trust Zhang Pei. Execute Plan Two immediately and arrest the contact!" Ma Hong, who had been carefully observing the situation from the window, was furious when he saw Zhang Pei combing his hair. He threw the half-smoked cigarette on the ground and stomped it out!
He led his six team members out of the room, quickly went downstairs, and entered the hotel lobby. The group hurried out of the lobby!
Just then, more than ten figures suddenly rushed out from all corners, pointing more than a dozen guns at them simultaneously, shouting, "Don't move! Lie down on the ground, or we'll shoot!"
"Military intelligence investigation is being conducted. Anyone who dares to resist will be shot on sight!"
"Don't move, put your hands up, you little brat, you're still moving?"
The sudden turn of events left Ma Hong and his six men completely bewildered. They had no idea when the enemy had gotten so close, and now, with more than twice their number of enemies pointing guns at their heads, how could they possibly resist?
Too careless! Having become so used to being a hunter, always treating others as prey, they neglect to guard against the dangers around them!
"Don't misunderstand, we're on the same side. We're from the Central Party Affairs Investigation Department, carrying out an important mission. Brothers, don't let it go wrong!" Ma Hong immediately realized that this was Nanjing, the capital city under the strictest control of the Kuomintang. With so many people and weapons in Nanjing, they definitely weren't underground party members!
Ning Zhiheng revealed himself, took out his military officer's ID, and showed it to Ma Hong and the other six men. He wanted to keep Ma Hong calm, otherwise, if Ma Hong mistook them for underground party members and resisted to the death, things would get really bad. If it came to a fight to the death, it would be one thing if they killed others, but if Ma Hong was killed in the chaos, that would be terrible! He wouldn't be able to explain himself when he got back!
You must understand that the Central Party Affairs Investigation Department and the underground party are mortal enemies. If it falls into the hands of the underground party, it can only fight to the death. But it's different with the Military Intelligence Investigation Department. Although these two departments don't get along, they are both intelligence departments of the Kuomintang. They often had misunderstandings and disputes in the past, but in the end, the higher-ups would negotiate and let it go. Brothers, is it really worth risking your lives?
"Stop talking nonsense and take their guns!" Ning Zhiheng shouted sternly.
Immediately, everyone rushed forward, pinned the six men to the ground, and quickly searched them for their weapons, including daggers and needles. The team members were very experienced and didn't miss a single detail, stripping them clean!
Ma Hong, in particular, was held down tightly by several team members, his hands and feet were bound tightly! His mouth was stuffed with a wad of cloth, so he couldn't make a sound.
He had a great skill set, but had no opportunity to use it. He was completely unaware that his identity as a Japanese spy had been exposed. He thought that the disputes between departments were not worth risking his life for, so he had no choice but to surrender obediently!
Just then, Zhang Pei strode in from outside and was shocked to see Ma Hong and the others tied up. He immediately turned around and left the hall, but before he could leave, two team members who were lying in ambush outside the door pressed two gun barrels against his back and pushed him back, tying him up along with Ma Hong and the other six!
Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief after completing the capture, a sharp gunshot suddenly rang out outside the hotel, the sound coming from the small restaurant!
"Oh no, sir! There's a Red Army underground member at the restaurant across the street. We're here to arrest him. There are also our brothers there. Hurry up and go support them! Don't let the underground member escape!" The man called Lao Si shouted to Ning Zhiheng.
It turned out that as soon as Zhang Pei left, Lu Ming knew that they might have been ambushed. He calmed himself down a bit and looked around. The private room had no windows, only the door as an exit. It seemed that he had no choice but to force his way in!
He pulled a pistol from his waist, carefully inspected the magazine, closed it, released the safety, and concealed it with his long sleeve.
He pushed open the door to the private room and walked out as if nothing had happened, and sure enough, he saw four more young customers in the hall.
He hadn't seen this when he came in; it must have come in while he was talking to Zhang Pei. Its behavior was normal, but it didn't escape Lu Ming's eyes!
