Chapter 983 Betrayal and Betrayal

Yu Pu looked at the young men in front of him. These were his own students, his core group, but they had suffered heavy losses in just one battle, which pained him deeply.

He sighed softly and nodded, saying, "It's not a question of whether we fight or not, but that Li Zhiqun wants to fight, and we have no choice but to grit our teeth and fight to the end. It's a pity that he got away today; we won't have this opportunity again!"

In fact, Yu Pu knew that Juchuan Academy's strength was no match for Number 76. Unless Li Zhiqun was beheaded, this struggle would likely be difficult to continue.

He thought for a moment and then instructed, "We're almost out of bullets. Go to the safe house on South Street and get some more later tonight. We've prepared some weapons there. Once the minister sends some more people, we'll continue our operation tomorrow. I've already selected our next target."

"Instructor, what's the target this time?"

"Hai Society!" Yu Pu said fiercely.

Hai She was also an external agency of the No. 76 Special Agent Headquarters organized by Li Zhiqun. Both Li Zhiqun and Ding Mo were former agents of the Central Bureau of Investigation and Statistics (CBIS). CBIS agents had accumulated rich experience in their long-term dealings with the underground party, so they paid close attention to student movements.

After gathering a large number of agents from the Central Bureau of Investigation and Statistics (CBIS), Li Zhiqun and Ding Mo quickly organized a group of people to organize espionage activities and develop agents in various colleges and universities in Shanghai. This was mainly aimed at the underground Communist Party. These people formed a separate intelligence department called the Hai She.

From its inception, the Hai Society was headed by Li Zhiqun, with Hu Heming, a veteran agent of the Central Bureau of Investigation and Statistics (CBIS), serving as secretary-general. Ding Mo had never been able to get involved. The core members of this department were all experienced CBIS agents. If these core members could be killed, it would be a significant blow to Li Zhiqun and the 76th Special Agent Headquarters.

Yu Pu had already scouted out the residences of these people and was just waiting for the personnel and weapons to arrive before launching the attack the next day.

But to his utter surprise, just as he was painstakingly planning a new attack, his master, Ding Mo, betrayed him to Li Zhiqun in exchange for his safety.

At night, a heavy rain began to fall from the sky. The winter rain made the air exceptionally cold and chilly. The dense rain fell on the solid streets, making a rushing sound that drowned out all other noises.

Just outside the alley, a group of men in black stealthily approached the hideout and quickly secured the two entrances and exits of the alley.

The two skilled agents in the lead moved slowly forward. Instead of barging into the house, they crept towards a corner across the street, where a sentry was hidden.

Using the sound of rain to conceal their movements, they slowly approached. Suddenly, one agent grabbed the sentry by the neck and covered his mouth, while another agent plunged a dagger into the sentry's heart and twisted it forcefully. The sentry's body trembled a few times, struggled for a moment, and then went limp.

Two agents gently set him down, then waved for the rest of the group to gather at the entrance of the residence, ready for a surprise attack.

When everything was ready, the door was suddenly kicked open, and a group of people rushed in, their pistols pointed forward, firing incessantly, shooting at anyone they saw. Countless bullets raged in the narrow space. There were still seven or eight trainees resting in the living room, and they had no time to react. Before they could even draw their guns, they were hit by the stray bullets, their bodies covered in blood, and they lay motionless.

Yu Pu and several trusted students in the bedroom were shocked to hear the commotion in the living room. This was a secluded place that had been prepared for a long time, and outsiders would never be able to find it. Yet, someone had still managed to sneak up on them, which was completely unexpected.

Everyone gripped their guns as fast as they could. Several trainees tried to rush out, but the enemy blocked the bedroom door. A hail of bullets swept over, and two more trainees fell.

"Instructor, you go through the window!"

The remaining two trainees opened the window next to them, forcefully supported Yu Pu, and sent him out without saying a word. But just as they turned around, the attackers rushed in, and several bullets hit their bodies. They immediately fell to the ground and were shot a few more times, dying on the spot.

Yu Pu was injured in the thigh and had difficulty moving. Suddenly, everything changed. In the blink of an eye, before he could even react, all of his students were killed or wounded. He was shoved out the window and could only stagger and run outside. But the rain was too heavy and blurred his vision. In his panic, he realized that a group of people had already blocked his way. Before he could even raise his hand to fire, countless bullets came flying at him. The gunfire was deafening, riddling his body with bullets. He fell backward into a pool of blood. A large amount of blood gushed out from the gun barrel, mixing with the torrential rain to form a pool of blood that flowed freely everywhere!
