"It seems that this Shadow Group will be going into a short period of infiltration. With the Japanese capabilities, barring any unforeseen circumstances, Huang Xiansheng's arrest will not be concealed for long!" Wei Liangbi had already figured out the problem, and said with a frown, rubbing his forehead.
The longer it goes on, the harder it will be to hide Huang Xiansheng's arrest. Moreover, the fact that the Military Intelligence Bureau searched his office and investigated his file is not a secret within the 11th Division, and word may have already spread.
"What is this second method of contact? You should know that each mole has its own specific receiving time, channel, and codebook. Each one is different. The windmill's fall into the net will not affect the contact with other moles."
Ning Zhiheng was also racking his brains trying to figure out why they would change their contact methods. "Unless, unless the Special Higher Police Headquarters suspects every member of the Shadow Squad because of Windmill's loss of contact, because every intelligence transmission eventually ends up with Windmill. If even one person has a problem and causes the dead mailbox to be leaked, it could all be traced back to Windmill! So now they are screening every member, screening one and restarting one! Then Puppet's arrest will be even more impossible to hide!"
After listening to Ning Zhiheng's analysis, Wei Liangbi was somewhat discouraged and said, "Then there's even less hope of breaking through him. I've completely given up now!"
Ning Zhiheng's face was full of worry, but he was secretly thrilled!
Others couldn't find any clues and had to give up!
But he knows about a new mole! And he'll find it soon, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Right, this time he must search secretly; he'll play the long game and catch a big fish!
The puppet's prolonged absence meant that news of its arrest would soon be discovered by the Japanese Special Higher Police headquarters, thus explaining the windmill's disappearance.
Now that the cause has been found, we will soon contact the Shadow Team members again using the second method, arrange for a new carrier pigeon and team leader, and restart the Shadow Team.
As long as he keeps an eye on the new mole, follows the clues to find the new carrier pigeon of the Shadow Group, and then closely monitors the carrier pigeon's every move, he can dig out every member along this line. Ning Zhiheng is confident that with his abilities, as long as he digs out one member, he can expose the entire Shadow Group.
Capturing the entire Shadow Squad would be a tremendous achievement. Barring unforeseen circumstances, this accomplishment would be enough to secure a promotion to captain, and perhaps even a place among field-grade officers.
Thinking of this, Ning Zhiheng felt secretly encouraged. This was an extremely rare opportunity, and he had to go all out and not slack off in the slightest.
Back in his office, he soon saw Shi Hong and Wang Shucheng walk in, chatting and laughing, with Shi Hong beaming.
In this operation, Shi Hong made no contribution whatsoever; Ning Zhiheng solved almost the entire case. Yet, the final result was a happy one for everyone! The Third Action Team received a commendation, and Shi Hong himself unexpectedly received a windfall of $1,000 in hush money. Now, he is completely convinced of Ning Zhiheng's abilities as their captain.
This young captain is intelligent, capable, and has connections and backing. He surpasses Shi Hong in every way, and Shi Hong has to admit defeat.
Ning Zhiheng said to Wang Shucheng, "Huang Xiansheng's case is over. Go to the interrogation department now, bring Huang Hui out, and release him! At the same time, withdraw the six team members from Huang Jisheng's house and lift the surveillance there."
Wang Shucheng nodded in agreement, turned around and went out to complete the formalities. He had originally thought that once Huang Hui entered the Military Intelligence Bureau, it would be difficult for him to get out. Unexpectedly, Ning Zhiheng was not as cold-blooded as he had imagined, and had been considering this matter all along.
Shi Hong watched Wang Shucheng leave before whispering mysteriously, "I ran into Captain Liang yesterday. He said his affiliation has been officially transferred to the Training Section, and he won't be returning to the Action Section anymore."
Ning Zhiheng nodded: "How is Brother Liang's mood?"
Shi Hong said, "Don't worry, he seems quite happy. He probably doesn't know that we've done a great service this time. Actually, he's always been wary of the team leader, afraid that one day he'll make things difficult for him. This time, the team leader took pity on him and arranged a good place for him."
He's content and has gotten what he wanted. He's just waiting to gain experience; what more could he ask for?
Ning Zhiheng actually felt a little guilty towards Liang Deyou, after all, it was a bit unkind of him to have abandoned him halfway through.
However, Ning Zhiheng wasn't a saint. Since they were in his way, and they weren't even on the same side, why should he let them benefit? Fortunately, they didn't fall out, parted amicably, and there was still room for them to get along in the future.
Ning Zhiheng checked the time. The plan he had discussed with Liu Datong yesterday was for him to go to the detention center to pick up the person and lure out Wang Maocai. He estimated that it was about time now!
Ning Zhiheng said to Shi Hong, "Gather the team, assemble fully armed, and set off on an errand."
Upon hearing this, Shi Hong quickly asked, "Do you have another target?"
He's at the peak of his career right now, full of energy and enthusiasm!
Ning Zhiheng laughed and said, "There aren't that many targets. It's a small matter. I'll be back soon!"
The team quickly assembled. Fully armed, they drove off in a large convoy towards the police station's detention center.
Meanwhile, in the police station detention center, Liu Datong and several of his men were having a heated argument with the detention center guards.
"Liu Datou, you've really got guts now, daring to point your finger at me and curse! Let me tell you, don't take your anger out on me. This case is handled by Chief Wang; if you want to release the suspect, you'll have to get his approval first!"
"Who told him to be a police chief? He's in charge of us!" the prison guard protested helplessly. "No, no, don't wrong an innocent person. That skinflint Wang didn't give me a single penny. I'm still furious!" he exclaimed. In his haste, he even called out Wang's nickname.
