Chapter 372 Reverse Encirclement

Ning Zhiheng may seem cold and ruthless, but that's towards the Japanese and those who could be killed. However, he always cherishes and loves his relatives and brothers very much, just like he does for his family.

Watching the living beings around him leave was an extremely painful experience for Ning Zhiheng.

With everything arranged, Ning Zhiheng, along with Hong Nan, the guide most familiar with the terrain, and 120 team members, left the main road and began to detour via a side path.

Led by their guide Hong Nan, it took them half an hour to successfully circle around to the back of the high ground.

Ning Zhiheng immediately arranged several firing positions and deployed firepower, while he led Zuo Gang and another person to scout ahead.

Ning Zhiheng had excellent eyesight; he could see clearly even in the faintest moonlight. After observing his surroundings carefully, he chose a direction and went up.

Ning Zhiheng soon stopped at a spot and pointed to a place on the left. Zuo Gang quickly focused his attention and observed carefully. He soon discovered two figures leaning against a tree.

They would occasionally peek out to check their surroundings before retreating back inside.

These were two sentries. Zuo Gang glanced at Ning Zhiheng and couldn't help but admire him. Even from such a distance, the team leader could so keenly detect them, something he himself could never do. Ning Zhiheng gave the signal, and the two men stealthily crept over.

These two sentries were only routinely assigned to guard the area. The Japanese plainclothes officers had always been the ones ambushing and plotting against others, and had never been attacked themselves, so they were not particularly vigilant.

"Nakane-kun, how much longer do you think we have to wait here? We've been lying in ambush for so long already?" someone asked in Japanese.

"I don't know, but the captain said that the Chinese army usually resupply every ten days, so it should be within the next couple of days. Just be patient!" another person replied in a low voice in Japanese.

The two were talking in hushed tones, occasionally craning their necks to look down at the ground, when they suddenly felt a gust of wind behind their heads and were struck hard, losing consciousness.

Ning Zhiheng and Zuo Gang simultaneously dealt with the two men. Ning Zhiheng clearly heard their hushed conversation and was certain that the Japanese were lying in ambush on a Chinese army transport convoy, but they had encountered their own troops ahead of time.

Fortunately, I reacted in time and stopped the troops from advancing, preventing them from being discovered by the enemy; otherwise, the consequences would have been severe.

Having confirmed that they were Japanese, Ning Zhiheng gestured for Zuo Gang to go back and bring the main force up, while he continued searching the vicinity to eliminate any hidden sentries.

Zuo Gang turned and left, while Ning Zhiheng, relying on his superhuman senses, searched around and finally discovered another hidden sentry post in another direction. There were two people hiding behind a rock, occasionally peeking out to observe the surrounding situation.

He slowly crept forward, but this time it wasn't as smooth as before. Just as the gravel under his feet made a slight sound, a sentry immediately turned around to look behind him.

Without the slightest hesitation, Ning Zhiheng flung the short blade in his hand. A flash of cold light and an extremely powerful force pierced deep into his neck, severing his trachea. With a muffled groan, he collapsed powerlessly to the ground.

As he threw the short blade, Ning Zhiheng swiftly lunged forward. Just as the other sentry reacted and reached for his gun, Ning Zhiheng had already leaped in front of him. With a single heavy punch, he struck the sentry in the chest, making a cracking sound as his sternum broke. The immense force nearly shattered his heart. Before he could even spit out a mouthful of blood, another large hand covered his mouth, and he fell backward, pinning him firmly against the rocks.

Ning Zhiheng confirmed that the sentry in his hand was dead, and with a loosening of his grip, the sentry's body slid to the ground.

He then turned and went to the fallen sentry, covered his mouth with his hand, and delivered another heavy punch to his heart. The sentry, who was already in a dying state, died instantly. Ning Zhiheng then pulled out the short blade that had been deeply embedded in the sentry's neck, wiped the blood off the sentry's body, and turned to leave.

Before the two sentries could even raise an alarm, Ning Zhiheng swiftly and decisively eliminated them.
