Chapter 553: Takeshita establishes his power

The next morning, in the Special Investigation Department's office, which was specially arranged by Director Wen Hao for Liaison Officer Takeshita Shinya, the office was spacious and bright. Takeshita Shinya was sitting in his seat, talking with Wen Hao, who was sitting opposite him.

“Mr. Takeshita, this Gan Tai is becoming more and more outrageous. He’s only been here for a little over a month and he’s already trying to take advantage of everyone. He doesn’t listen to anything I say. Does he have any sense of hierarchy? What’s most infuriating is that he doesn’t understand the rules. My team leader, Shao Zheng, was arrested for smuggling. He took the money and just released the man, but Gan Tai arrested him again and is now trying to hold Shao Zheng accountable. Tell me, isn’t this too arrogant?”

Wen Hao poured out his grievances to Takeshita Shinya. More than a month ago, as the Central China region fell into the hands of the Japanese, Special Higher Police (TPP) offices were established in various places. The TPP headquarters in Shanghai was severely understaffed and repeatedly applied to the headquarters for personnel replenishment. As a result, the highest-ranking TPP officer, Tsuchihara Keiji, transferred his student Kitaoka Ryoko to Shanghai to serve as the head of the Second Intelligence Group, and brought a large number of personnel from North China.

Upon arriving in Shanghai, Kitaoka Ryoko quickly took over the work of the Detective Division from Imai Yuji and appointed Gan Tai, a Chinese agent, as the deputy director of the Detective Division. Gan Tai and his thirteen agents also joined the Detective Division and assumed important positions.

After Cui Guangqi was eliminated, Wen Hao gradually seized control of the entire investigation department through various means. However, his joy was short-lived, as Gan Tai took office, and the situation changed again. Relying on Kitaoka Ryoko's trust, Gan Tai did not take Wen Hao seriously at all and interfered in almost everything. He had already clashed with Wen Hao's side several times. Wen Hao knew that the other party was backed by his superior, and that a direct confrontation would not work. So he sought help from Takeshita Shinya.

Shinya Takeshita was naturally furious. The reason was simple: since taking office, Gan Tai hadn't given him a single penny. In fact, because of his involvement, the benefits from several smuggling cases had been lost. Gan Tai had even bypassed him several times and reported directly to Ryoko Kitaoka. How could Gan Tai possibly respect him as the liaison officer? If it weren't for the fact that Ryoko Kitaoka was also his superior and had a powerful background, Shinya Takeshita would have already prepared to teach Gan Tai a lesson.

"Baka! That bastard!" Takeshita Shinya slammed his fist on the table, gritting his teeth as he cursed, "A dog dares to be so arrogant, I'll teach him a lesson today!"

Takeshita Shinya's words made Wen Hao feel a little awkward. He knew that in Takeshita Shinya's eyes, he was probably just a lackey, only an obedient one.

However, he quickly abandoned this thought and stepped forward to whisper, "Takeshita-kun, we need to find an opportunity to curb his arrogance. Otherwise, who will listen to my orders in this detective department? It will be bad for everyone!"

Shinya Takeshita turned and asked, "What do you want to do?"

Upon hearing Takeshita Shinya's meaning, Wen Hao realized that he was going to step in and deal with Gan Tai. He was overjoyed and quickly said, "They are now relying on the power of the Kitaoka Group Leader to cause chaos in the Detective Division. Everyone is in a state of panic. I think you could find an opportunity to teach him a lesson in public. That way, my men will have a leader to rely on. Otherwise, it will be difficult to lead them if their morale is low!"

Shinya Takeshita's eyes flashed with a fierce light as he resolved to teach this Gan Tai a lesson. Otherwise, he would think he could really do whatever he wanted in the Detective Agency, and that he didn't even care about him. What a bastard.

Thinking of this, he asked, "Where is Gan Tai now?"

Wen Hao quickly replied, "He took his men out early this morning. He's arrested another downstream supplier of goods these past few days, Takeshita-kun. If he keeps arresting people like this, we won't be able to handle our goods at all. The goods in the North District warehouse are piling up, and we dare not sell them, for fear that Gan Tai will follow the trail and cut off our source of income."

"Alright," Takeshita Shinya stood up abruptly, pacing back and forth in the room in anger. "Tell me when he gets back!"

Wen Hao was overjoyed. He quickly handed the document bag in his hand to Takeshita Shinya and said softly, "Takeshita-kun, this is a work report for the past period. Please review it!"

Takeshita Shinya's expression immediately softened. He took the bulging document bag, felt it with his hand, and knew that there were many benefits this time. He nodded in satisfaction.

Takeshita Shin couldn't help but smile broadly, and said with a grin, "Yoshi! Mr. Wen, we're friends. I'm a man of principle. If you have any questions, just ask."

Wen Hao was also very fortunate that his boss not only had a gentle temper towards his subordinates, but also did not like to meddle in other people's business. He never interfered in the work of the investigation department. As long as enough money was given, he would never hesitate to speak up for him when necessary.

"Please wait a moment, I'll go outside and keep watch. As soon as he returns, I'll report to you!" Wen Hao bowed and left the office.

Shinya Takeshita smiled and nodded, but the smile on his face immediately faded as he watched Wen Hao leave. He turned and went to the window, looking at the scenery outside, and couldn't help but let out a long sigh.

It has been more than four months since the stationmaster left Shanghai. There has been no news for so long, and he dares not take any action. Many times he wanted to go to the Fujiwara Company to inquire about the news, but he held back. There was nothing he could do but anxiously wait for the stationmaster to wake him up.

His image in the Special Higher Police is well-known: a miser who eats and drinks without contributing, is greedy for life and loves money. In order to maintain this image, he also needs to teach Gan Tai a lesson. Otherwise, it would seem abnormal for a Japanese officer with a powerful background to be so cowardly as to not dare to deal with a Chinese agent under his command.
