An hour later, Scott walked out of the gates of the University of Hong Kong. He walked quickly for a distance, crossed the street, and came to his car, about to open the door.
Just then, he suddenly sensed something strange behind him. He turned around abruptly and discovered that a middle-aged man had been silently following him, staring intently at him.
There's a problem!
Scott's pupils constricted instantly, his heart skipped a beat, and he realized something was wrong. He had been followed and monitored, and the other party had even gotten close without him noticing. The other party was undoubtedly a master.
Just then, the middle-aged man saw Scott suddenly turn around and reacted very quickly. He was somewhat surprised, but he didn't hesitate at all. He took a big step forward and closed the distance between them.
Scott was an experienced and agile elite. When he saw the other party rushing up, although he didn't have time to draw his gun from his waist, his hands moved quickly and he threw a punch.
This punch was powerful and swift, and most people couldn't withstand it. Scott was not only tall and strong with an outstanding physique, but also had a high level of unarmed combat skills. He was confident that he would have the upper hand in such close combat.
But the man opposite him didn't pause at all. He easily deflected Scott's fist with his left hand, then shifted his body to the side, lowered his head slightly, and thrust his right shoulder forward, then slammed it heavily into Scott's chest.
"Boom!"
Scott's body jolted, and he slammed backward against the car door. An indescribable pain immediately spread from his chest, filling his entire body in an instant. It felt as if every bone in his body had shattered, and he let out a painful groan.
At the same time, blood rushes upward, the pain numbs every nerve, and the head feels dizzy and unresponsive.
"Boom!" Another heavy blow!
The opponent's movements followed immediately, with a left hook landing solidly on Scott's right ribs from below, producing a dull thud.
The extremely powerful blow left Scott completely powerless to resist, and his body immediately went limp and collapsed. However, the other party caught him, opened the car door, and pushed him inside.
There were still a few pedestrians on the surrounding streets at this time, but from the moment the two sides made contact to the moment Scott was knocked down, it was only a short moment before he was pushed into the car, which quickly started and disappeared from sight in a short while.
After an unknown amount of time, Scott regained consciousness. He opened his eyes, looked around, and found himself lying on the ground with the car beside him. However, the surroundings were quiet, and he had no idea where he was.
He struggled to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through his chest and right rib, and he couldn't help but let out a cry of "Ah!" His pale face contorted with pain, and large beads of sweat seeped from his forehead, as if every movement was a tremendous torment.
His mouth tasted bitter. He barely managed to raise his hand to wipe his lips, only to find his hand covered in blood. He was shocked. He knew better than most the signs of a blow to the body; this was internal bleeding caused by severe damage to internal organs.
"I'm sorry, I was a bit too rough. Your liver is bleeding, but if you receive timely treatment, you should be out of danger."
Scott looked in the direction of the sound and saw the middle-aged man who had injured him standing in front of him. This man was none other than Ning Zhiheng.
After receiving Liao Chengren's call, Ning Zhiheng inquired about Scott's attire and the time required to copy the film. He then waited in the shadows until Scott appeared on time. He followed closely behind, then struck with lightning speed, knocking Scott unconscious and taking him to a secluded place.
He needed to find out Mr. Turner's true identity and confirm whether he was Yongfeng's mole. Most importantly, he needed to find out if the film reels of drawings Mr. Turner had were the only original copies. If not, he would have to find a way to take the originals from the British. Otherwise, even if he got the drawings, their actual value would be greatly reduced.
"Who are you? Japanese? Or..." Scott asked in a low, hoarse voice, eager to know how the other party had targeted him.
Ning Zhiheng shook his head and said, "You don't need to know. This is for your own good. You're a smart person. If I really told you, do you think you could still go back alive?"
Scott felt relieved upon hearing this; the other person's words indicated they didn't intend to kill him. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly remembered something and quickly reached into his pocket.
"No need to look anymore, they're all here with me. There are three rolls of film in total. Looks like you've been keeping some on hand, planning to sell them to three different people?"
Scott's expression changed. He suddenly thought of a possibility: the other party might have been sent by his trading partner. Could it be to save on transaction fees? After all, this transaction was the most valuable one in recent years. Could it be that the woman was planning to double-cross him?
At this moment, Ning Zhiheng waved the film in his hand. He had already found all the blueprints and film while Scott was unconscious.
Then he asked, "Can you tell me your real identity? I'm very curious, how did you get your hands on the blueprints?"
It wasn't that woman! Scott realized that his trading partner knew his identity, so there was no need for him to do anything unnecessary. Of course, it was also possible that he was trying to cover it up. He kept guessing about the other party's identity in his mind.
Seeing that Scott did not answer, Ning Zhiheng smiled faintly, squatted down, leaned closer, and said to Scott, "I'm reminding you, your internal organs are still bleeding. If you are not sent to the hospital as soon as possible, your life will be in danger. If you try to fool me here, you are giving up your own life."
