Chapter 58 Auntie Arrested
The aunt seemed harmless and chatted with her warmly every day.
He secretly complained to Gao Xiaoman, saying that the reason he couldn't continue working was because of her.
Shen Wanjun was once again convinced that this person was no ordinary person.
Gao Xiaoman frowned: "Is that so? When did this start? Why are you only telling me now?"
The aunt said, "Madam, you've been vomiting a lot lately, you're already feeling unwell enough, how could I possibly say anything?"
"Don't go. I'm here for Shen Wanjun."
Gao Xiaoman was furious. Shen Wanjun had taken her seat on the train and didn't give her any face.
Even after they arrived at the compound, they continued to target her at every turn, and now they're even going after her nanny.
How could she possibly swallow this insult?
Seeing Gao Xiaoman's firm attitude, the aunt said, "Then I'll work for a while longer."
She said that, but in her heart she had already begun to plan her escape.
She returned to her room, slept for a while, and then quietly went out late at night.
Shen Wanjun saw her pry something out of the crack in the bricks and then stuff something else back in.
Just as she was about to leave, Shen Wanjun secretly gave her a needle from behind.
The aunt turned around, her eyes fierce yet filled with doubt. It seemed she had been tricked, but where was the person?
Before she could figure it out, the anesthesia took effect, and she passed out.
Shen Wanjun secretly called Dang Xianghong over and briefly explained the situation.
Dang Xianghong found a loose brick on the wall, and the note inside had fallen to the ground.
Upon opening it, I found a detailed floor plan of the military compound, which even marked the location of the toilets.
Dang Xianghong tied people up, called Hao Mei, and Aunt was taken away overnight.
Shen Wanjun dragged her tired body home and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Song Zhan was still asleep.
Thankfully, I didn't wake him up.
She gulped down a few mouthfuls of the spiritual spring water, rubbed her numb hands, and felt as if she had finally come back to life.
She quietly pulled back the covers and carefully lay down inside.
Her hands and feet were ice cold, so she could only lie on her side.
Song Zhan hugged her from behind, pressing against her like a fireball.
Originally, Shen Wanjun was worried about refusing to let Song Zhan get away with it, but now that Song Zhan was offering himself up, she grinned and turned around to hug him.
Men are great; even in this freezing weather, they keep you warm all over.
Shen Wanjun quickly fell asleep, and in the darkness, Song Zhan opened his eyes, his mind filled with thoughts.
Where did my wife go so late at night? What was she doing? Why is she so cold?
Soon, Song Zhan knew the answer.
The next morning, there was a loud banging on the front door.
Song Juan opened the door and saw Gao Xiaoman, and frowned.
My sister-in-law said that this woman in front of me is not easy to get along with, and that I should avoid her if I see her.
She had always avoided Gao Xiaoman, but now the woman had taken the initiative to come to her.
Song Juan couldn't avoid it, so she had no choice but to bite the bullet and speak politely: "Sister-in-law, is there something you need?"
Gao Xiaoman said irritably, "Call Shen Wanjun out."
Shen Wanjun was woken up by the noise and washed her face: "Honey, you stay in the room, I'll go check on things."
"I'll go with you."
"It's too cold outside."
"It's alright." Song Zhan followed behind in his wheelchair.
As soon as I got to the door, I heard it being pounded on.
Gao Xiaoman called for a long time, but Shen Wanjun didn't come out. Instead, Hao Yan was attracted to the scene.
After asking a few simple questions, Hao Yan firmly stood on Gao Xiaoman's side.
She brought a plate of rotten eggs from home and, without thinking, threw them directly at Shen Wanjun's front door.
"What are you doing? Stop!" Shen Wanjun shouted as she opened the door.
Hao Yan seemed not to hear and was about to smash it again, but Song Zhan caught an egg with his bare hands.
He squeezed it into water and looked at her coldly.
Although Song Zhan didn't say anything, Hao Yan felt her legs go weak and her heart sink when she met his fierce gaze.
"I...I'm just helping out. You guys chat, don't mind me."
He then stepped back behind Gao Xiaoman.
Gao Xiaoman looked at Shen Wanjun and said, "I'm asking you, why do you keep looking for my aunt every day?"
Shen Wanjun responded smoothly: "Can't we just chat casually?"
"Your behavior has seriously affected my aunt," Gao Xiaoman said, holding her back. "Don't come looking for her again."
Gao Xiaoman thought Shen Wanjun would ask why and on what grounds, and might even argue that it was her right to speak.
But Shen Wanjun didn't say anything, only smiled and said, "Alright."
"Huh?" Gao Xiaoman could hardly believe her ears. She agreed?
He then raised an eyebrow, held his head high, and left with the air of a victor.
I used to think Shen Wanjun was really amazing, but now it seems she's just average.
That's true. What's the point of her being so lively outside? Once she's in the compound, she still has to watch her man's face.
Her husband is a battalion commander. Although Song Zhan is also a battalion commander, his leg is now crippled, and he won't be able to hold that position for long.
Shen Wanjun has no choice but to keep a low profile now.
When Gao Xiaoman returned home, she wanted to tell her aunt the good news, but she couldn't find her anywhere.
Just as they were wondering what was going on, the door was suddenly burst open by a group of uninvited guests.
Soon, the compound issued a notice: Special Agent W has been caught.
Gao Xiaoman and Zhang Guoqing were talked to for a long time, and they were only released after it was confirmed that neither of them knew the identity of their aunt.
Gao Xiaoman said softly, "This is not my fault."
"Not your fault? Blame me?" Zhang Guoqing roared in fury, "Idiot!"
Did she think everything would be fine just because he wasn't dismissed?
At the same time, Song Zhan found Political Commissar Hao and denounced Hao Yan for throwing rotten eggs, calling her a sabotage element in the compound.
Therefore, following her previous apology letter to the man she met on a blind date, Hao Yan wrote another open letter to apologize to Shen Wanjun.
Hao Mei was repeatedly humiliated by Hao Yan, and finally she couldn't take it anymore and booked a train ticket directly.
"I've packed everything for you. You can go back now. My place is too small to accommodate someone as big as you."
Hao Yan once again resorted to crying, making a scene, and threatening suicide, but this time Hao Mei showed no mercy and just watched coldly.
With a mocking smile, she said, "Go ahead and make a scene, let's see how long you can keep this up."
Hao Yan finally gave in: "Sister, if I get married, I'll marry that male teacher from last time."
It's in a nearby village, very close to my sister, so it's convenient for me to come here.
Being a teacher is a secure job; as long as you don't make any major mistakes, you'll be well-off for life.
While not the best, it's not the worst either; life certainly won't be too bad.
Soon, the day of Hao Yan's wedding arrived.
That day, Political Commissar Hao couldn't go to see his sister off because she was assigned another taskāto present awards to Dang Xianghong and Shen Wanjun.
For their meritorious service in capturing Special Agent W, the two were rewarded with an enamel mug, a notebook, and a radio.
Dang Xianghong and Shen Wanjun, wearing big red flowers, gave a report in the auditorium.
Dang Xianghong spoke passionately, spitting as he got excited, while Shen Wanjun smiled and nodded, occasionally chiming in with a few words.
In the midst of a peaceful atmosphere, someone in the audience suddenly raised their hand to ask a question.
"I'd like to ask Comrade Shen Wanjun, how was she able to knock out the special agents while pregnant?"
