Chapter 66 A Bunch of Ambushes
The driver's brother was fat and strong, and several policemen of similar build were following behind him.
"That's them, they hijacked the car," the driver said, pointing to the people on the ground.
"One of the guys even knocked me unconscious." He was very indignant when he talked about it.
If you're so capable, let's fight one-on-one. What kind of dirty trick is this?
The older brother glanced at the driver and said, "You've wasted several bowls of rice in one meal. What a waste of food."
He's utterly useless, and he even got knocked out by a few scoundrels. It's embarrassing to even talk about it.
"Brother, listen to me, it was an accident. I was bending over fixing a car when they ambushed me."
A bunch of sneak attackers.
The older brother asked lazily, "Is the car fixed yet?"
The driver lowered his head: "No."
The older brother gave me a knowing look and rolled up his sleeves.
They started repairing the car in the same bent-over position.
It has to be said, the eldest brother is indeed the eldest brother; he excels at everything.
The jeep made a pleasant roar; the car was fixed!
"Thank you, comrade," Shen Wanjun and Huang Ya quickly said.
The older brother waved his hand: "No need to thank me, it was just a small favor."
As he spoke, he bent down, lifted the wheelchair along with Song Zhan, and put it into the car.
Even through his clothes, Shen Wanjun could almost see his muscular physique.
She said, "Comrade, you're really strong."
The older brother, who was used to being rough around the edges, was a little flustered when suddenly praised by a woman who looked like an angel.
After a while, he said in a low voice, "You must be hungry. I have some food here."
As he spoke, he took out a few roasted sweet potatoes from his pocket and handed them to Shen Wanjun.
Shen Wanjun wanted to thank him, but her elder brother simply waved his hand.
He thought to himself, "Does this woman have some kind of magic? Why do I unconsciously tighten my voice when I talk to her?"
The driver had long been fed up with his hoarse voice and said impatiently, "Alright, that's all for you. You can take the person back now."
"Remember to punish them severely. If they dare to hijack a car today, they dare to kill someone tomorrow."
"To do something like this on your turf, isn't that disrespectful to you?"
The driver's words made the man's face turn even darker, and he cracked his knuckles.
"Take them all away, take them all away."
The driver started the car, and the group chatted and ate sweet potatoes.
Song Zhan carefully peeled the sweet potato for Shen Wanjun, and Song Juan smiled and said, "Brother, you are so good to my sister-in-law."
Song Zhan looked at her and said, "If I'm not good to your sister-in-law, who am I good to?"
Song Juan pointed to herself: "Me? I'm your sister."
Song Zhan: "Don't expect me to peel sweet potatoes for you. You have hands and feet, do your own thing."
He only peels them for his wife.
Song Juan giggled, "Brother, you're so smart." She guessed what Song Juan was up to right away.
“My sister-in-law has hands and feet too, brother, you can’t be so biased.”
"When you get married, your husband will peel it for you."
After saying this, Song Zhan felt a little uncomfortable. He thought that no man was any good.
Although his younger sister wasn't particularly outstanding, he felt that no one was good enough for her.
Men always have something in mind when they surround women.
Song Zhan glanced at Huang Ya, who was eating sweet potatoes and chatting.
"Juan'er, remember to keep your distance from shady men."
Song Juan took a big bite of sweet potato; it was sweet, soft, and slightly hot.
She fanned her mouth with her hand and asked, "Where are there any shady men around me?"
She spends her days cooking and doing housework at home, occasionally chatting with other military wives, and has virtually no opportunity to interact with men.
The snow fell heavier and heavier, and the driver drove slower and slower. They rushed as fast as they could, and finally arrived home safely before dark.
The driver helped unload the honeycomb briquettes, and Huang Ya put some everyday items in his office.
The rest were all placed in Song Zhan's yard; having a large yard has its advantages.
As soon as Song Juan got home, she went straight into the kitchen and busied herself. Soon, a steaming bowl of chicken noodle soup was ready.
Shen Wanjun took a big gulp of soup. "It's so delicious."
After dinner, the two siblings consciously lay down on the table and began their nightly reading and calligraphy practice.
Song Juan inadvertently noticed that Song Zhan had written the three big characters "Dear" on the paper, and she felt as if her eyes had been burned.
I wasn't sure, so I looked at it more closely, and it really was.
"Brother, what are you writing?"
"The words written."
What words did you write?
"Don't worry about that." Song Zhan pressed his face almost against the table, shielding the letter with his hand.
Last time, because of the special W matter, Shen Wanjun was called in for questioning.
Hao Mei went to him personally to ask about the letter, but he brushed her off with a few words.
From then on, Song Zhan would always keep his letters to himself.
It was a complete accident that Song Juan saw it just now.
He's been in the hospital for the past two days, overwhelmed by a series of pleasant surprises.
Realizing that his sister might have seen something, Song Zhan nervously clutched the letter tightly.
Song Juan was speechless: "Brother, I'm not a thief, why are you being so wary of me?"
Even if she sees what he writes, she won't go around telling everyone.
"I wasn't on guard against you." Song Zhan rubbed his nose. "It's getting late, go to sleep."
After washing his feet and lying in bed, Song Zhan asked Shen Wanjun in a low voice, "Will Juan'er continue learning to read with me?"
Yes, I want it.
Song Zhan sighed: "I feel like she has already learned enough."
"For a girl, learning so much is useless; enough is enough."
Shen Wanjun looked at him suspiciously: "How could you say that?"
"Of course, the more characters you know, the better. Juan'er can do accounting, read newspapers, and learn new knowledge to broaden her horizons in the future. Isn't that good?"
"Why don't men let girls go to school? Isn't it because they're afraid women will take away their jobs?"
"The more something is forbidden, the more we should learn it and the more we should strive to obtain it."
Shen Wanjun tapped Song Zhan's forehead: "Comrade Song Zhan, your thinking is unacceptable. How can you still be sexist?"
Song Zhan said aggrievedly, "I didn't, I was just afraid..."
"Afraid that Juan'er knows too many characters?"
Song Zhan nodded, and Shen Wanjun was even more speechless: "Then this is male chauvinism."
"No," Song Zhan explained, "I'm afraid she'll find out our secret."
"Do we have any secrets?" Shen Wanjun asked.
Song Zhan handed her the letter he had written and whispered, "Isn't this a secret?"
Shen Wanjun unfolded the letter and became happier the more she read it.
Song Zhan seemed to have gone all out today, even calling her "darling" in the letter and writing down all the sweet nothings he had never said before.
Shen Wanjun lay on the bed, watching and laughing. Song Zhan turned out to be a repressed pervert.
The next day, after breakfast, Song Juan went to find Huang Ya.
Huang Ya put on a white lab coat, and looked much more serious.
He asked, "Where do you feel unwell?"
Song Juan plopped down, then got up and closed the door after thinking for a moment.
Huang Ya was still a little sleepy, but as soon as she saw her close the door, she immediately perked up.
Song Juan is not the first woman to do this.
People always try to introduce him to potential partners, but when he refuses, they bring the women to his door in person.
Some even resorted to perverse methods in an attempt to give him their innocence.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Song Juan said mysteriously, "I have something to tell you."
Huang Ya: "I won't listen."
"You haven't asked what's wrong yet?"
Song Juan was puzzled. Dr. Huang looked so fierce today, completely different from his amiable demeanor yesterday.
