The male lead died?
Hanjiang didn't know what the lamp was, but he had to make it stop.
Fortunately, the short sword at her waist was still there. When she drew the sword, she found that her once bulging pocket had shrunk. She had taken some fruit from the temple to protect herself, but now it was all rotting in her pocket.
It was fine inside the temple, it was fine in the secret passage outside, and it was even fine when it was shown to Cang Jingmo upon first entering the tomb. When did it break?
Entering the tomb was not difficult. Could it be that Gui Xu did not come in person because she knew that spiritual energy would be disrupted? So she sent Han Jiang, after all, she had guessed that Han Jiang was a spiritual energy dissipation body.
Han Jiang aimed at the light on the hanging platform, trying to find the right angle to aim his short sword at it, but he couldn't throw it up after several attempts.
"Cang Jingqi, don't you have any strength at all?"
The two of them had huddled together on the ground, unable to hear anything anyone was saying.
Han Jiang gradually felt the restlessness within his body; the spiritual and demonic energy here was so dense that it was affecting him as well.
The options are either to smash the lamp or sever the array's connection. But what if the array's circulation is cut off, causing all the spiritual and demonic energy to surge out together? Wouldn't that be a dead end?
Hanjiang checked the wall and found it wasn't an illusion; it had really "grown" up.
“Xiaoman…” Cang Jingqi pointed at the vines, “This is a type of sleep grass…”
The Sleeping Grass in Shenlu Valley is the most common type, known as "the cure for everything". However, the Sleeping Grass here is unique to Xuanzhou. It is cold-resistant, frost-resistant, and has a very extensive root system. It has an extremely strong effect in suppressing the dissipation of spiritual energy, and can even suppress spiritual energy in the human body, causing spiritual energy blockage.
The Vermilion Bird Pavilion even came to deal with this, and a large area was burned to death.
Blocked spiritual energy is not a good thing; it prevents people from growing up and extends their lifespan by only a few years.
The crystal coffin must contain the Sleeping Grass unique to Xuanzhou, no wonder Hanjiang thought it looked like it.
Han Jiang still had the fire talisman Wen Xu had given her in the desert. She had run out of explosive fire talismans, but she still had the lowest-level fire talismans, which couldn't produce a large fire, and were generally used to make torches for lighting.
All she knows is how to use the fire-lighting talisman.
The vines quickly caught fire.
Sleep Grass grows above ground, and this is where the roots are. Flames may not be able to reach the top, but they can destroy the roots, and the Sleep Grass will also be greatly damaged.
Cang Jingqi mustered some strength, sealed off some of the demonic energy in his body, and barely stood up: "Get out of here as soon as possible. The spiritual energy disorder caused by the spiritual energy intrusion here is extraordinary. I don't know where this spiritual energy and demonic energy come from, but it is extremely devouring. Before long, we will turn into nourishment to fill the spiritual energy gap here, leaving not even bones behind."
Han Jiang was puzzled as to why there were no traces left by the tomb raiders. It turned out that the tomb raiders had all turned into gas.
The round platform was filled with powerful spiritual energy, which greatly interfered with Cang Jingqi. Han Jiang told Cang Jingqi to stay where she was, while she used her short sword to stab into the coffin, destroying the crystal coffin and depleting its spiritual energy.
She pried open the crystal coffin and finally saw what the skeleton was holding—the very stone Han Jiang was looking for. Han Jiang reached out to take it, but the skeleton's hand holding the stone suddenly tightened, and its other hand gripped Han Jiang's neck. It slowly sat up and stood up from the coffin.
The surrounding spiritual and demonic energy stopped circulating and instead moved closer to the bones, gathering near them.
Miraculously, flesh and blood grew back from the bones, gradually revealing a face.
The woman's empty eyes stared blankly at Han Jiang, her expression unchanging.
It felt like countless crawling worms were scurrying inside my body, trying to break through my skin and burrow into my heart.
Within a high concentration of spiritual energy, even a spiritual energy dissolution body cannot escape disorder.
The white bone's hand tightened its grip, and Han Jiang swayed, her toes lifting off the ground. A feeling of suffocation rushed to her brain, and the short sword in her hand fell to the ground.
She seemed to be trying to absorb spiritual energy from Han Jiang, but then realized she couldn't extract anything. So she used her other hand to aim straight at Han Jiang's left chest, targeting his heart, and plucked out the spiritual energy she wanted.
Cang Jingqi rushed onto the round platform and struck Bai Gu in the chest with a palm. Bai Gu released Han Jiang and staggered two steps.
"Cang Jingqi!" Han Jiang gasped for breath and rushed to help Cang Jingqi up.
He was about to fall to the ground almost the next moment. Even though he had sealed off some of the demonic energy, the intense demonic energy impact just now almost tore him apart. The external spiritual energy fell on his body like knives, cutting his skin and causing it to bleed profusely.
The skeleton's face showed displeasure.
She chanted a spell, and the lamp on the hanging platform floated down and landed in her palm.
The lamp switched from a dim white light to a red light, and Han Jiang returned to his original attire. He reached into his pocket and found a round, rotten fruit lying there.
Han Jiang helped Cang Jingqi off the round platform.
"How are you?" Han Jiang asked softly, as there was nothing on hand to bandage her wounds, and she didn't know where to begin.
Cang Jingqi wanted to pat Han Jiang's hand to comfort him, but his hand was covered in blood, so he could only pat Han Jiang from a distance: "I'm fine..."
The skeleton regained its appearance, dressed in white with flowing long hair. She placed the stone in her bosom, held a lamp in one hand, and condensed a sword with her qi in the other.
The woman rushed towards the two men, but Cang Jingqi pushed Han Jiang away. The woman missed her target and immediately turned to Cang Jingqi, who had just slapped her.
Cang Jingqi restrained the woman's arm, his sword pointing directly at her eyes, and the two were locked in a stalemate.
Han Jiang hurriedly ran onto the platform to retrieve the fallen dagger and stabbed it into the woman's chest from behind. The woman turned and slashed at Han Jiang, who crouched down, the wind from the sword passing over his head.
That was close!
The sword did not wound the woman; she did not bleed a drop.
This woman is composed of spiritual and demonic energy, making her unkillable. The only way to kill her is to cause the energy within her body to collapse.
The spiritual and demonic energy has already begun to leak out. If there's no better way, the only option is to wear her down. But given the current state of Cang Jingqi and Cang Jingmo, it's uncertain who will die first.
Cang Jingqi has almost reached his limit.
Cang Jingmo squatted by the wall, his condition unclear.
The woman aimed at Cang Jingqi again, but Han Jiang stood in front of Cang Jingqi and blocked the woman with his short sword.
She had no idea how long she could hold out, but she didn't want to always be hiding in the back.
Han Jiang was pulling at the woman at both ends of the platform. As he ran past the platform, Han Jiang threw a fire talisman at the flowers in the crystal coffin.
The woman's movements faltered, which made her even more annoyed.
Just as they were about to catch up with Han Jiang, Cang Jingmo said, "The spiritual energy barrier is broken!"
It turns out that Cang Jingmo had been trying to break through the spiritual energy barrier ever since he regained his mobility.
The spiritual energy inside the room once again flowed outwards, but the continuous operation of the Spirit Gathering Altar began to absorb spiritual energy from the outside world.
Cang Jingqi unsealed the demonic energy and summoned a folding fan. The fan broke through the ground outside the wall and flew into his hand.
Without time to heal himself, he immediately threw out his folding fan to protect himself from the cold.
The woman was deflected by the folding fan; perhaps due to a lack of spiritual energy, she seemed somewhat powerless.
"Destroy the Spirit Gathering Altar quickly!" Han Jiang shouted. Otherwise, the woman would soon recover her strength.
Cang Jingmo channeled his energy into the circular platform, causing a section of the Spirit Gathering Altar to collapse instantly, halting the circulation of the two energies, and leaving the platform dim and lifeless.
Han Jiang returned to Cang Jingqi's side.
"It's much better now. Some of the spiritual energy has dissipated from the top and the cave entrance." Cang Jingqi stopped his bleeding.
Unable to control the loss of her vital energy, the woman screamed madly. Her newly healed skin and flesh suddenly began to rot again, and stones fell out of her chest cavity, which had turned into bones.
She ignored the stone and hugged the lamp tightly: "I cannot die! I want to live forever!"
As the cold descended, I dared to approach the woman and take a stone.
The woman collapsed weakly back into the coffin, barely able to hold onto the lamp she was carrying.
As the cold descends, seize the opportunity, grab the lamp, and run.
The woman struggled to climb out of the coffin, screaming, "Give... me... a... return..."
Cang Jingqi gave the woman no chance. He took two steps onto the round platform, caught Han Jiang, and hugged her tightly as he rushed out of the cave and left the underground tomb.
He didn't want to stay in this place a moment longer. That woman was involved in too many things, and he just wanted to get Han Jiang away as soon as possible.
"I think I heard her call for Gui Xu," Han Jiang said. "Wait! Where is the Second Prince?"
"Don't worry about it, he won't die. He's probably in the tomb looking for what he wants."
"Then don't you need to look for anything? Aren't you also looking for something related to this?" Han Jiang overheard the two brothers' conversation and learned that they were investigating the same thing.
Cang Jing said, "I have found what I was looking for."
"What did you find? Put me down, we're almost at the top of the stairs, and you're injured." Han Jiang felt a little awkward being carried by Cang Jingqi.
Cang Jingqi still didn't let go; instead, he hugged her even tighter.
"Your Highness..."
"Didn't you just call me by my full name so easily?"
Han Jiang didn't know why she found it increasingly easy to pronounce Cang Jingqi's name. Except for the occasional deliberate instance where she called him "Your Highness," she would always use his full name.
"Didn't you say I should use honorifics? That I should address you as Your Highness?"
“We weren’t familiar before, but we are now,” Cang Jing said smugly. His heart was pounding. Han Jiang’s inexplicable attire and changed appearance made him realize that the person in his arms was truly from a different world than him.
He considered himself well-read, knowledgeable about any country or dynasty, but he had never seen clothing like Han Jiang's, nor had he ever heard Han Jiang use some of the strange words.
"The stairs only open when a mechanism is triggered outside. How do we get up there?" Han Jiang asked.
Before the two could even worry, a woman's voice came from behind them: "No! My Changsheng!"
Then came an explosion.
Cang Jingqi bent down to protect Han Jiang, the two of them pressed tightly together, heads touching, folding fans held in front of them.
"You've broken another folding fan." Han Jiang's voice was slightly nasal, and he was very close, right next to Cang Jingqi's ear.
"It's okay, it was worth the damage."
The location was right at the top of the stairs. The explosion blew open the statue, and the two people were exposed directly from underground.
They were incredibly lucky.
The entire pine forest was blown apart, half of the temple collapsed, and the spirit beast was tied up and unable to run away, huddled behind the sled, wishing it could hide in the ground along with its head.
The mausoleum was built behind the temple and occupied a considerable area, but since it was blasted open from the middle, the impact only affected the area around the mausoleum.
Hanjiang and Cangjingqi returned to check the situation.
The noise was so loud, the locals must have heard it, and it won't be long before the Vermilion Bird Pavilion comes to investigate.
Remnants of sleeping grass can still be faintly seen. Large areas of sleeping grass grow in this remote forest.
The crystal coffin still has some remains, and the character "归" (return) can be faintly seen carved on the bottom.
The bones broke into pieces and scattered all over the ground.
Cang Jingmo has yet to appear.
"Where is the Second Prince?" Han Jiang immediately sensed something was wrong.
"Amo!" Cang Jingqi called out.
No one answered.
Cang Jingqi called out again.
The two quickly searched through the wreckage.
Until a body was found in a pile of dirt near the crystal coffin.
It was fried beyond recognition.
"This isn't Cang Jingmo, is it?" Han Jiang's voice trembled.
The male lead is dead? What's the point of even trying to win him over?!
