Chapter 1 Returning to China

Chapter 1 Returning to China

A cool and delicate face was reflected in the window of the private jet.

The woman stared quietly at the Kyoto skyline gradually approaching outside the window, with a look of indifference and determination in her eyes.

She is the adopted daughter of the Jiang family who just returned to China.

More than 20 years ago, the Jiang family had a son and a daughter. The son was already five years old, and the daughter was just less than one year old when she was secretly taken away.

So half a year later, the Jiang family took her back.

The rumors were that Mrs. Jiang was too sad and could only do this to comfort her lost Miss Jiang. But Jiang Tingwan knew that the Jiang family was just looking for someone to take the place of the future marriage and to replace the daughter in socializing.

Jiang's father is a well-known business tycoon, and Jiang's mother's family is the Huo family, the third generation of the Red Clan. The two were married through family alliance and had no feelings for each other.

This is why Jiang Tingwan has a cold and indifferent personality beneath her gentle appearance.

"Ms. Jiang, we will land in fifteen minutes." The flight attendant reminded softly.

The woman nodded slightly, the corners of her lips curved up, and she said softly, "Thank you."

Her voice was gentle, yet had just the right amount of distance.

The plane landed steadily on a private helipad in Kyoto.

Jiang Tingwan stood up calmly and adjusted her clothes unnoticeably.

A light apricot silk shirt paired with a well-cut pearl white fishtail skirt.

Every detail shows luxury in a low-key manner, while highlighting her gentle and quiet temperament.

She raised her hand and tucked her long hair behind her ears. Her hair was as smooth as silk and well-maintained.

The cabin door slowly opened, and on the tarmac, three black Maybachs of the Lu Group were neatly lined up.

"Wanwan!"

Before Jiang Tingwan could see who was coming, a head suddenly appeared in her arms.

It was Lu Yiqiao, the daughter of Lu Group.

She held Jiang Tingwan's arm affectionately and said with a smile: "It's been four years. You're finally back! How long do you plan to stay this time? You should be staying here permanently!"

Jiang Tingwan smiled, raised her hand to stroke her hair, and responded gently: "I won't leave again in the short term."

"That's good!" Lu Yiqiao said excitedly.

-------------------------------------------

Lu Yiqiao wanted to take her to the bar to celebrate.

Jiang Tingwan took out a mask from her bag and put it on. After all, she was returning home early this time, so she did not take the Jiang family's plane. Instead, she asked Lu Yiqiao to use the Lu family's private plane. She did not want to be seen by acquaintances at the moment.

"Lu - Yi - Qiao".

As soon as Jiang Tingwan put on the mask, she heard someone calling Lu Yiqiao's name with gritted teeth.

Just as she was about to turn around, Lu Yiqiao grabbed her and ran away.

Unfortunately, before the two of them could run two steps, Lu Yiqiao was carried back like a little chicken.

Jiang Tingwan couldn't help but look back at the owner of the voice.

He held Lu Yiqiao's coat collar with one hand and put the other hand in his pocket. His black jacket was half open. His facial features were as sharp as blades, his eye sockets were deep, and his eyes were as dark as ink.

Perhaps the only one who could discipline Lu Yiqiao like this is the eldest son of the Lu family.

There was a smile on Lu Zhaoye's lips, but the smile did not reach his eyes.

"Is this what you mean by staying at home with grandma?"

Lu Yiqiao was so frightened that she didn't dare to say a word.

In this way, the two were forced to enter the private room with Lu Zhaoye.

-------------------------------------------

"Hey, Mr. Lu, did you catch your sister sneaking out again?"

As soon as they entered the private room, everyone's eyes turned to them. It seemed that it was common knowledge that Lu Zhaoye often captured Lu Yiqiao.

Seeing Lu Yiqiao secretly glaring at Lu Zhaoye from behind, Jiang Tingwan couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips slightly.

"Who is this sister?"

Several people noticed Jiang Tingwan who was following behind, and looked at her with inquiring eyes.

"This is Jiang——"

Lu Yiqiao was about to start introducing herself when Jiang Tingwan gently grabbed her hand and interrupted her.

"Friends of Miss Lu, just call me Xiao Jiang."

Jiang Tingwan's eyes curved and her smile was gentle.

She didn't want to let others know that she had returned to China for the time being, otherwise it would not be so easy to get rid of her identity and have a few days of leisure.

Sure enough, after everyone finished listening to this, they soon shifted their attention to laughing and continued playing drinking games.

They probably all thought that this was another celebrity friend of Miss Lu who was not convenient to show up in public.

There was only a figure in the corner, who seemed to be thinking about something after hearing her words.

After Jiang Tingwan sat down, he began to look at this group of people silently.

The young master of Bai's Pharmaceutical Machinery, the eldest young master of Tang's...

This group of people are either rich or noble. I will surely have to deal with them after returning to China.

Her eyes scanned the area and finally stopped at the corner of the private room.

The dim light floating in the corner was like a layer of mist, gently enveloping the man.

The silver-white shirt made his skin look as white as snow. His slender fingers occasionally rested on the edge of the glass, and his eyes were slightly distant. Unlike Lu Zhaoye's sharp features, he had a more cold temperament.

Who is this?

Jiang Tingwan didn't recognize him at first.

While he was thinking, the man's gaze turned over.

The two men's eyes met, and Jiang Tingwan was about to curl her eyes and smile obediently, but the man simply looked away.

It seems like she is a flower on the mountain? Jiang Tingwan was not annoyed, but became more curious about him.

"Wan--Xiao Jiang!" Lu Yiqiao's voice came from her ears, "Come and help me! How can I possibly beat them!"

Jiang Tingwan withdrew her gaze and looked at Lu Yiqiao. In just a moment, most of the chips on her table were won by that group of young masters.

"Lu Yiqiao, all the money you lose will be deducted from your pocket money."

Lu Zhaoye teased on the side.

Lu Yiqiao glared at him, then shook Jiang Tingwan's arm coquettishly, "Help me quickly!"

"Then let me do it." Jiang Tingwan found it funny and reached out to take the dice cup.

The woman's voice, as soft as water, sounded, instantly attracting the attention of a group of people.

"Brother Lu, you have to take responsibility if the girl loses." Bai Che, the young master of the Bai family, teased with a smile.

"Okay." Lu Zhaoye agreed readily.

He also didn't expect that this woman was not like the friends Lu Yiqiao usually brought, who were either timid or acted coquettishly to seek protection. She took the dice cup so calmly, with a hint of interest in her eyes.

The light sprinkled on the dice cup, casting tiny spots of light. Jiang Tingwan lightly lifted the dice with her fingertips, and the dice hit the wall of the cup with a crisp sound.

"Three threes." She counted softly, with just the right amount of hesitation at the end of the syllable, her fingertips lightly stroking the edge of the dice cup.

When her opponent impatiently raised the bet to four fives, her eyelashes trembled and she blinked.

"Really? Then I... open it?"

After uncovering the dice cup, the woman said in surprise: "Huh? I won?"

Everyone looked at her. Jiang Tingwan had a hint of innocence in her eyes, as if she hadn't expected to win.

But Lu Zhaoye was keenly aware that those fox-like eyes were surprisingly bright, hiding a bit of cunning light.

The second one was also surprisingly similar.

"Me again?"

She blinked, with just the right amount of surprise in her tone.

The people around her started to make a fuss, saying that she was lucky and that Lu Zhaoye had made a fortune this time.

She just lowered her head and smiled, her long hair falling on her shoulders, hiding the sense of ease and control in her eyes.

At the end of the third game, she even let out a soft "ah", as if she was finally going to lose.

But when the dice cup was opened, three sixes were clearly visible.

She tilted her head slightly, revealing a section of her white neck, and smiled harmlessly.

"Oh, how lucky I am tonight."

Lu Zhaoye raised his eyebrows, obviously not expecting this ending. He immediately became interested and made a gesture towards the corner.

"Come on, Chen Guan, let's do it together, three of us."

The man in the corner also looked over at some point, and was obviously interested as well.

Contemplation...

Jiang Tingwan silently repeated the name in her heart.

Three dice cups are quietly displayed on the dark green velvet gambling table.

One side is cynical, one side is calm and self-controlled, and the other side... is wearing a mask.

Jiang Tingwan tucked the loose hair behind her ears, and her eyes were full of smiles above the mask.

"I'm not a good player, please give in to me."

This group of rich young men were obviously very interested in this game. They stopped chatting and eating melon seeds and just came over to watch.

Lu Zhaoye shook the dice cup with one hand, showing his unruly attitude: "Five sixes."

He raised the corners of his mouth like a sated leopard, but his eyes were fixed on Jiang Tingwan's slightly trembling eyelashes.

Chen Guan tapped the dice cup with one hand and the edge of the glass with the other. The sound was like ice cubes colliding in iced whiskey. "Six threes."

Jiang Tingwan bit her lip and pretended to hesitate for a long time: "Then...seven sixes?"

She let out a sigh of annoyance as she opened the cup.

There were actually three fives hidden in Lu Zhaoye's dice - she "just happened" to miss one point.

Chen Guan lowered his eyes and looked at her. When she admitted defeat, the regret in her eyes was mixed with a few barely perceptible smiles.

This guy lost on purpose, Shen Guan thought.

"Oh no, no more playing! You guys are just bullying us!"

Lu Yi quietly pushed the chips down.

Everyone was already used to the little princess's cute personality, so they all just laughed it off. Then everyone started gambling again, but the three of them sat back in their original seats.

Jiang Tingwan had no intention of playing with those two seriously, she was just taking a look tonight.
