Chapter 129 You've Been Passed

Chapter 129 You've Been Passed

The car slowly drove to the bottom of the building.

Wen Nian turned off the engine and turned his head to look at Jiang Tingwan who was sitting in the passenger seat.

She fell asleep.

Jiang Tingwan leaned against the car window with her head tilted, her breathing even and long, her long eyelashes casting a shadow under her eyes, and a faint trace of red still remained on her lips.

The moonlight shone through the car window onto her face, giving her a soft silver glow.

Maybe she was too tired - the non-stop work during this period, including press conferences, negotiations, and social events, had almost exhausted her energy.

At this moment in the closed carriage, she finally let down her guard and became as quiet as a lazy cat.

Wen Nian was in no hurry to wake her up.

He looked at her quietly for a while, his eyes tracing over her slightly furrowed brows, thinking that she must be worrying about the company's affairs even in her dreams.

He reached out, his fingertips hovering above her hair, hesitated for a second, and finally just slightly raised the air conditioner temperature.

Ten minutes later, she still showed no signs of waking up.

Wen Nian unbuckled his seat belt, got out of the car quietly, walked around to the back seat and opened the door. The night wind blew in, and Jiang Tingwan unconsciously shrank back into the seat.

"Sister..." He called her in a low voice, his voice so soft as if he was afraid to disturb a dream.

No response.

She was actually sleeping so soundly in a man's car.

Does this mean that she trusts him?

The usually well-behaved and docile look in his eyes had long disappeared, replaced by a bottomless possessiveness.

He entered the car from the other side and leaned towards her, gently caressing her cheek with his fingers.

"Sister..." he whispered in a hoarse voice.

His fingertips slid down her jaw to her neck, finally stopping at her collarbone.

The fair skin there shone with a lustrous luster in the moonlight, as if silently inviting him.

Wen Nian's Adam's apple rolled, and he finally couldn't help but lean over and kiss her lips.

Her lips were incredibly soft, with a faint scent of red wine.

He restrained himself and sucked lightly, then slowly deepened the kiss, prying open her teeth with the tip of his tongue and wantonly invading her breath.

Jiang Tingwan hummed softly in her sleep, but did not wake up.

This reaction made Wen Nian even more presumptuous.

His kiss moved down her chin, onto her slender neck, and finally stopped at her delicate collarbone.

He bit it gently, leaving a light red mark.

"Um......"

Jiang Tingwan frowned in her dream, as if feeling uncomfortable.

Wen Nian then stopped and looked at her with heavy breathing.

Under the beige suit jacket, her white shirt was slightly opened due to the action just now, revealing a piece of snow-white skin. The same pure white hip skirt outlined her perfect waist and hip curves. It was obviously a holy color, but at this moment it looked particularly attractive.

Wen Nian clenched and unclenched his fingers, finally took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down.

He bent down, put one hand through her knees, supported her back with the other, and carefully carried her out.

She was lighter than he thought, and her shoulders were so thin under her suit jacket that he frowned.

Her head rested naturally on his chest, her hair brushed against his chin, with a faint scent of perfume - a hint of sweetness hidden in the cool jasmine scent, just like her, cold on the surface, but still somewhat soft on the inside.

The sensor lights in the corridor lit up one by one with his footsteps.

Jiang Tingwan moved slightly during the bumpy ride, and Wen Nian immediately stopped and looked down at her.

She didn't wake up, but just unconsciously leaned against his arms, her forehead resting on his neck, her warm breath brushing his skin.

Wen Nian froze for a moment, his Adam's apple rolled, and he tightened his arms around her.

As the elevator went up, he looked at them through the reflection in the mirror - she was sleeping peacefully in his arms, and he was like a thief who had stolen a treasure, even breathing very lightly, for fear of awakening the illusion of the moment.

He didn't know the password to her house, and didn't want to wake her up, so he chose to go to his floor.

When they reached the door, Wen Nian supported her with one hand and used the other to press the combination lock.

Jiang Tingwan opened her eyes drowsily at this moment, her voice filled with sleep: "... Wennian?"

"Yeah." He lowered his head, the corners of his mouth raised unconsciously, "Go to sleep, we're home."

She hummed, and actually closed her eyes again, letting him carry her into the door.

Wen Nian put her on the bed, squatted down and took off her high heels. When his fingertips accidentally brushed her ankle, she shrank slightly but did not wake up.

He stood by the bed and looked at her for a while. She was completely buried in the dark grey sheets, her black hair spread out, setting off her snow-white skin.

Outside the window, a black car drove away silently.

Wen Nian walked to the balcony, feeling the cold wind blowing in his face. He looked at the car disappearing into the night, and the smile in his eyes gradually faded.

He knew who it was.

I also know what that person saw.

That's just fine.

Wen Nian returned to the bedside and looked at her for a long time before pulling the quilt over her.

Jiang Tingwan seemed to feel the warmth and subconsciously hugged the quilt tightly, rubbing her cheek on it and letting out a contented sigh.

This action made Wen Nian's eyes darker.

He leaned over and gently stroked her cheek with his fingers.

"Itchy..." Jiang Tingwan frowned in dissatisfaction in her sleep, raised her hand and waved it as if to drive away a fly.

Wen Nian couldn't help but chuckle.

It turns out his sister can also have such cute moments.

"Good night, sis," he whispered.

---------------------------------------------

The night is as dark as ink, and the obsession is hard to dispel.

Song Zhi's car was parked quietly downstairs of the apartment building, with the window half-lowered. The cigarette at his fingertips had already burned out, but he was unaware.

He shouldn't be here.

That night on the cruise ship, Jiang Tingwan had already drawn the line clearly; after Lanqi's downfall, even the last layer of false cooperative relationship between them no longer existed.

In the past six months, he deliberately avoided Hong Kong and devoted all his energy to overseas business, snatching one project after another from those illegitimate children who were eyeing him covetously. Everyone said that he was indeed the eldest son of the Song family, and the illegitimate children really couldn't compare with him.

Only he knew that this was the most respectable way he could think of to protect her.

If she appeared in front of her as before and was noticed by his mother, she would inevitably be suppressed by his mother again.

But when Wen Nian leaned over, opened the car door for her, and said affectionately, "We live together," the rationality that he had carefully built up over the past few days collapsed in an instant.

It turned out that he still wanted to be close to her and didn't want her to be in someone else's arms.

Although the intimacy before was fake, the thoughts he inadvertently had day and night were real.

The car was heated enough, but Song Zhi still felt cold.

He watched Wen Nian carefully carry the sleeping Jiang Tingwan out of the car. The woman's long eyelashes cast tiny shadows on her face, and she leaned on the young man's shoulder defenselessly.

When Wen Nian looked down at her, the tenderness in his eyes almost overflowed.

This scene was like cutting flesh with a blunt knife.

Song Zhi watched them walk into the elevator, watched the lights on a certain floor light up, and then -

No one came out again.

The watch hands passed one o'clock in the morning, and the driver looked in the rearview mirror and seemed to be hesitant to speak.

Song Zhi, however, was frozen in the shadow like an ice sculpture, and only came back to his senses when the cigarette butt burned his fingers.

Why bother......

He pulled the corners of his mouth in self-mockery.

When they came back from the room that night on the cruise, Ou Shan said that she had not come home all night and should have let him see everything clearly.

He knew clearly about their relationship and that she had long distanced herself from him, so reason told him that he should leave as soon as possible.

But his body betrayed his reason and stayed here stubbornly, as if staying for one more second could prove something.

The phone screen suddenly lit up, and the assistant sent me information about tomorrow's morning meeting.

Song Zhi closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, he returned to his indifferent look: "Go back to the company."

The black car drove away silently, and in the rearview mirror, the lit window light was getting farther and farther away.

There are some boundaries that once crossed, there is no return; there are some distances that can only be maintained with dignity.

However, he could hardly control himself and chose the first option.

---------------------------------------------

When Jiang Tingwan woke up, she saw a magnified handsome face in front of her - Wen Nian had his eyes closed, his long eyelashes cast a shadow under his eyes, his breathing was steady, and he looked well-behaved and harmless.

She pulled herself up suddenly and looked around.

The unfamiliar bedroom, with its simple grey and white tones, was clearly Wen Nian’s home.

She actually spent the night at Wen Nian's house?

When she recalled the past night, she only remembered that she fell asleep in Wen Nian's car and had no idea what happened afterwards. She slept so deeply...

Jiang Tingwan frowned and was about to get up quietly, but suddenly a warm hand grabbed the back of her head.

"Sister..." Wen Nian murmured, and with force of his arms, he pressed her back to his chest.

Jiang Tingwan's face was forced to bury in the crook of his neck, and her nose was immediately filled with the refreshing scent of the boy's shower gel.

The distance was too close, so she raised her hand and patted his arm: "Good boy, let go."

But Wennian didn't move at all, his breathing was still steady, and he seemed to show no signs of waking up.

Jiang Tingwan slept well last night and woke up feeling very energetic. She wanted to go to the company quickly to check out the project that Song Zhi gave her yesterday.

She didn't want to waste time with him...

So Jiang Tingwan narrowed her eyes, lowered her head without hesitation, and bit his collarbone.

Red marks suddenly appeared on the fair skin.

"hiss--"

Wen Nian in front of him woke up in pain, and when he lowered his head, he saw the top of the woman's hair.

Jiang Tingwan took the opportunity to push him away, turned over and got out of bed, crossed her arms and asked, "Why didn't you wake me up last night?"

Wen Nian was sleepy and did not wake up until a while later. He propped his head lazily and looked at her with burning eyes. He chuckled and said, "Sister, you are so cute when you sleep. I can't bear to let you go."

"Don't be ridiculous."

Hearing such ambiguous words again, Jiang Tingwan walked into the bathroom without looking back and tidied her clothes and hair in front of the mirror.

When she came out, Wen Nian was still lying on the bed.

"My sister is really cruel." He looked abandoned: "Last night she insisted on holding me to sleep, and this morning I threw her away after she was done with me."

Jiang Tingwan didn't believe his lies, but she was too lazy to expose him. She sneered and picked up the bag on the sofa: "Yes, I am that kind of person."

Wen Nian choked.

"By the way." Jiang Tingwan walked to the door and suddenly turned back, "You have been asking for leave for a long time, why don't you just go and resign today."

After saying that, she closed the door neatly, not giving Wen Nian any time to react.

Wen Nian looked at the closed door without any change in her expression. She just touched the bed sheet beside her, which still retained her warmth.

Why did she wake up so early... He hadn't hugged her enough yet.

------------------------------------------------

Half an hour later, Jiang Tingwan washed up, changed into professional attire and came out of her house.

As soon as she looked up, she saw Wen Nian leaning against the wall with a breakfast bag in his hand.

"Sister, breakfast." He handed it over with a smile, as if the previous conversation had never happened.

Jiang Tingwan took the bag, but didn't stop walking, with a blank expression on her face: "Since you're up, go and resign."

Wen Nian followed her aggrievedly: "Sister, why do you always want to drive me away?"

As an intern, I take leave all day and don't go to work. Anyone would say so, right? Jiang Tingwan thought to herself.

She pressed the elevator button and glanced at him sideways.

Besides, why would someone who could buy a house downstairs pretend to be a delinquent teenager? She didn't want to have someone of unknown identity under her.

The elevator door opened, she walked in, and continued slowly: "There is an intern working for the female boss in the company who asks for leave all the time but is not fired. What do people think of you?"

What else can I think of? A story about a female CEO and a pretty boy...

Well...if that's the case, it's not impossible, Wen Nian thought.

"It's okay, sister." He looked at Jiang Tingwan's cold face, deliberately moved closer, and said in an ambiguous tone: "I don't mind."

Who asked?

"I mind." Jiang Tingwan rolled her eyes, "I don't like your type."

"Then what type do you like?" Wen Nian raised his eyebrows and looked into her eyes.

"I like..." Jiang Tingwan propped up her chin and pretended to think, looking Wen Nian up and down, and deliberately described him in the opposite direction: "Older, more mature, less talkative, successful in career, richer than me..."

So many conditions...

But Wen Nian felt something was wrong the more he listened, so he narrowed his eyes and said faintly, "Sister, are you looking for the antonym of me?"

"If you don't believe it, there's nothing I can do." Jiang Tingwan didn't answer him, but pretended to be helpless and sighed.

This statement made the air freeze for a moment.

"If you like it, sister," Wen Nian suddenly lowered his body, leaned over, and whispered in her ear: "Besides age, I can also..."

"stop."

Before he could finish his words, Jiang Tingwan put her hand on his chest and interrupted him.

"It can't be anything other than age." She raised her red lips with a smug smile, "Age is the key."

She lifted Wennian's chin with her fingertips, smiling as she spoke word by word, "Old people are more caring and die early, so I can get my share of the property sooner - so this is the most important."

"So." The elevator door opened, and she walked out gracefully, turning back and winking at him:

"You were passed.
