Chapter 22 You Don't Have to Think Too Much

Chapter 22 You Don't Have to Think Too Much

At noon, the scorching sun penetrated through the gaps, causing Jiang Tingwan's eyelashes to tremble slightly involuntarily.

She opened her eyes in a half-asleep state, and before she had completely woken up from her dream, she suddenly realized that she was still leaning in Shen Guan's arms.

The warm touch of the man's chest was clearly felt through the thin fabric, like an electric current that instantly spread throughout her body, making her wake up instantly.

She stood up hastily, her ears quickly flushed, and her tone was filled with panic and anger: "Why didn't you wake me up?"

As she spoke, she hurriedly raised her hand to tidy up her sleep-messy hair.

However, the moment her fingertips touched a strand of wet hair, she couldn't help but be stunned - Shen Guan's coat had been gently covering her body without her knowing, and on her shoulders, there were faint traces of wetness left by the morning dew.

Shen Guan's arms were still around her, but when he heard her words, he calmly retracted them and said calmly, "You were sleeping so soundly, I couldn't bear to wake you up."

As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Guan turned over and dismounted from his horse swiftly. Then he extended his hand to Jiang Tingwan, with a gentle smile in his eyes, and asked, "Would you like to come down and take a walk?"

His attitude was natural, as if this was just an ordinary morning ride, without any ambiguity or embarrassment.

Jiang Tingwan hesitated for a moment, and although she felt a little conflicted, she finally put her hand gently on it.

The two walked side by side along the forest path, slowly leading their horses.

Shen Guan pointed out some special tree species on the roadside from time to time, and his tone was relaxed and casual, chatting leisurely.

But Jiang Tingwan keenly noticed that he always walked on the outside, and whenever a branch might scratch her, he would always move sideways to block it without leaving a trace.

"The car is in front."

Shen Guan raised his hand and pointed at the black Bentley not far away. He saw that the driver had already stood respectfully beside the car, waiting for their arrival.

Faced with this thoughtfulness, Jiang Tingwan felt increasingly at a loss, and kept thinking of what she said last night.

As soon as she got into the car, her cell phone rang suddenly.

"Mother?"

She answered the phone puzzled.

Jiang's mother's voice came through the receiver clearly: "The flight is scheduled for 2pm. If you are free, bring someone to pick it up."

"I see."

Jiang Tingwan responded briefly, hung up the phone, and subconsciously looked at the time - it was already half past twelve.

"We can catch up if we leave now."

Chen Guan, who was standing next to him, had obviously heard the call. He calmly opened the car door and asked, "I'll take you there?"

He acted so harmoniously, as if helping her pick up her family was just a normal thing in life, without any deliberateness or affectation.

Jiang Tingwan opened her mouth slightly, wanting to say something, but when the words came to her lips, she just nodded silently.

The air conditioning temperature in the car was adjusted to just the right level, and a carefully packed lunch was placed on the seat.

Shen Guan sat in from the other side, turned his head to look at her, and said gently: "Would you like to eat something first?"

Jiang Tingwan stared at the resort logo printed on the lunch box, and suddenly a flash of enlightenment came into his mind.

From his attentive companionship during horseback riding, to the prepared lunch, to his unhesitating decision to send her to pick up her family, all the details were arranged by him in an orderly and flawless manner.

As the eldest daughter of the Jiang family, it is normal for her to be well taken care of.

However, now all of this was prepared by Chen Guan for her, coupled with the words last night that were hard to tell whether they were true or false, she didn't know how to respond for a moment.

He could be a partner, but if he also wanted her to fall in love with him, she would reject that in her heart.

The car slowly drove onto the highway.

Shen Guan signaled the driver to turn on the car stereo, and suddenly, soft and soothing piano music filled the entire car.

In the car, Jiang Tingwan quietly looked at the scenery outside the window, but her thoughts were in a tangle.

She thought to herself that she was far inferior to Shen Guan in terms of ease and control.

He said those suggestive words last night, was so intimate with her this morning, and now he can send her off to fulfill her family duties as if nothing had happened.

She was having trouble telling which ones were true and which ones were false.

"Jiang Tingwan."

Shen Guan suddenly spoke softly, breaking the silence in the car.

"You don't have to think too much."

-------------------------------------------

"arrive."

Shen Guan's voice brought her back to reality.

In front of the private airport passage, a Rolls-Royce Phantom was already waiting quietly.

The moment the door of the private jet opened, Jiang Tingwan recognized the slender figure at a glance.

Jiang Shixu was wearing a minimalist white shirt and black suit pants, holding a black suit jacket in one hand. He had straight shoulders and perfect proportions.

He listened to his assistant's report as he walked down the gangway, his profile looking cold and sharp in the sunlight.

"Mr. Shen."

Jiang Shixu nodded to Shen Guan calmly and glanced at him. Then, he turned to Jiang Tingwan, and the faint sandalwood scent on his body wafted in the wind.

"Tingwan."

His voice was still as calm as water, just like when he found her lost in the back garden many years ago.

"Brother." Jiang Tingwan responded softly, her fingertips unconsciously tightening the strap of the bag.

Jiang Shixu slightly turned sideways, and the assistant immediately opened the car door.

He looked at Chen Guan with a somewhat distant politeness: "Thank you for seeing me off."

Shen Guan smiled calmly: "It should be."

Jiang Tingwan nodded to Shen Guandian, then turned around and got into the Rolls-Royce.

There was a familiar sandalwood scent beside him, and Jiang Shixu had already opened his laptop to continue working.

His slender fingers tapped on the keyboard, and his watch reflected a cold light.

"I know about Ruan Yue."

He spoke suddenly, his voice as calm as if he was discussing the weather.

Jiang Tingwan turned her head and found that he was still staring at the screen, with the lines of his profile as sharp as a knife.

The car was so quiet that only the faint sound of the air conditioner could be heard. Jiang Shixu looked away from the computer screen and turned his head to look at Jiang Tingwan.

"Ruan Yue is back, you don't have to worry." His voice was calm, but it carried an unquestionable meaning, "Whatever she has, you will also have."

He looked so confident as if that person was not his biological sister. His balance would not be tilted in the slightest because of blood relationship. No one could stir up a ripple in his eyes that were as calm as the water.

Jiang Tingwan nodded gently: "I know."

The car fell silent again.

Jiang Shixu tapped the keyboard a few times with his slender fingers and closed the computer.

"What do you think of Ruan Yue?" he suddenly asked, "between you two."

Jiang Tingwan was stunned for a moment, then she understood what he meant.

"She has a good personality, very lively and well-behaved," Jiang Tingwan's voice unconsciously softened when he thought of the girl.

"She is very independent and kind. Although she has experienced many difficulties, she is still very optimistic."

She paused, and the corners of her lips rose slightly: "She was admitted to Kyoto University on her own, and is now interning at Shen Group. She is also very capable at work."

Jiang Shixu listened quietly, his eyes fixed on the smiling face of the person next to him.

He rarely saw Jiang Tingwan like this. In the past, she was always polite and distant. Even if she was wronged, she never complained, like a cat that was always alert.

Now when she mentioned Ruan Yue, there was warmth in her eyes.

"Yeah." Jiang Shixu responded lightly and turned on the computer again.

He originally didn't have much interest in this sister who suddenly appeared, but now because of Jiang Tingwan's attitude, he had a better impression of Ruan Yue.

The little girl in my memory who was lost in the back garden, who was obviously scared but tried hard not to cry, now has someone who can make her let down her guard.

The Rolls-Royce was driving smoothly on the highway. The sunlight shone through the window, casting light and shadow on Jiang Shixu's keyboard.

He caught a glimpse of Jiang Tingwan's slightly raised lips, and the ice in his eyes melted a little.

-------------------------------------------

Jiang Shixu and Jiang Tingwan didn't say a word along the way and went straight back to the Jiang family.

When we arrived, the clock had quietly pointed to 4:30 in the afternoon.

Jiang Shixu's expression did not change, he hurriedly walked towards the study room. Jiang's father had already been waiting in the study room.

Jiang Tingwan looked at the time, Ruan Yue's image appeared in his mind, and he decided to pick her up at that moment.

Since moving into the Jiang family, Ruan Yue has never been able to adapt to the life of having a driver at her disposal. She is also unwilling to drive a luxury car to work, and says frankly that she is more accustomed to taking a taxi or taking the subway.

When Jiang Tingwan thought about this, she felt that she had a lovely stubbornness.

The car started slowly and drove on the busy street.

On the way, Jiang Tingwan called Ruan Yue and told her that she was going to pick her up. On the other end of the phone, the little girl said, "That's too much trouble, sister."

But she couldn't hide her joy in her words, as if one could imagine her smiling face at that moment.

Jiang Tingwan's mouth corners unconsciously raised.
