Chapter 49 Who do you like?

Chapter 49 Who do you like?

When I woke up again, what caught my eye was Ruan Yue's little face full of worry.

She was sitting beside the bed, holding a bowl of steaming white porridge in her hand.

"elder sister!"

Ruan Yue saw her open her eyes and immediately moved closer, "You finally woke up..."

Jiang Tingwan was about to speak when she caught a glimpse of Lu Zhaoye sitting on the sofa in the corner of the ward, sitting with his legs crossed and playing with his cell phone.

He was wearing a black leather jacket with his collar casually open, and his slender fingers slid quickly across the screen, looking nonchalant.

Noticing her gaze, Lu Zhaoye raised his eyes lazily, a playful smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

"Hey, Lin Daiyu, you finally woke up."

Jiang Tingwan withdrew his gaze expressionlessly.

She was too familiar with the man's tone of voice, and the moment they looked at each other she guessed that he had no good intentions.

"Mr. Lu is really stingy,"

Her voice was still hoarse from her illness, and she pointed to the empty bedside table.

"He didn't even bring a flower basket when he visited the patient."

Lu Zhaoye sneered, put away his phone and stood up, his black leather boots making crisp sounds as he stepped on the floor.

He walked to the bedside and looked down at her.

"I went to your house this morning to express my condolences to you,"

He deliberately dragged out his tone, "How could I have known that you would be lying in bed again in the afternoon?"

These words sounded like a complaint, but there was a hint of concern in his eyes that he couldn't hide in time.

Jiang Tingwan was too lazy to pay attention to him and turned to ask Ruan Yue.

"Has the project been signed successfully today?"

Ruan Yue nodded, scooped a spoonful of porridge and blew it gently to cool it down.

"It went very smoothly. Mr. Wang said he would contact me directly later."

She carefully handed the porridge to Jiang Tingwan's lips, "Sister, eat something first."

Jiang Tingwan opened her mouth obediently, but her eyes fell on the faint blue shadow under Ruan Yue's eyes.

These days she has handed over all the business to Ruan Yue. I guess this girl must be very busy.

Thinking of this, she felt a little guilty.

Lu Zhaoye stood aside and took in every subtle change in her expression.

He suddenly sneered: "Worry more about yourself."

After saying that, he turned around and walked out the door, the hem of his leather jacket drawing a neat arc as he moved.

Ruan Yue watched the ward door close and asked helplessly, "Is he angry?"

"He's just having a fit."

Jiang Tingwan didn't even raise her head, she took a sip of porridge from her hand, the aroma of rice was mixed with the sweetness of lilies.

The dusk outside the window gradually deepened, turning the half cup of coffee Lu Zhaoye left on the windowsill into amber.

This person even walks so ostentatiously and even holds his cup at an arrogant angle.

Ruan Yue was stunned for a moment, then couldn't help laughing out loud.

-------------------------------------------

After resting for a while, Jiang Tingwan lifted the quilt and prepared to get out of bed.

Ruan Yue immediately held her arm nervously: "Sister, where are you going?"

"Go check on Xie Duo's situation."

Jiang Tingwan looked at her helplessly.

"Don't worry, I'm not made of paper. I won't get dizzy after walking a few steps."

Ruan Yue pursed her lips and whispered: "But you just fainted..."

Jiang Tingwan sighed.

"I was really mistaken for Lin Daiyu."

The two came to Xie Duo's ward and gently pushed the door open.

Xie Duo was lying on the hospital bed, his eyes closed and his breathing steady, as if he was asleep.

His features appeared particularly sharp under the light of the ward, with deep brow bones and a sharp jawline. Even with his eyes closed, he exuded an oppressive feeling that could not be ignored.

Ruan Yue stood beside Jiang Tingwan, looked at her quietly for a while, and suddenly asked in a low voice.

"Sister, what kind do you like?"

Jiang Tingwan raised her eyebrows: "Hmm?"

Ruan Yue blinked and said seriously, "Is it someone like Lu Zhaoye or someone like Xie Duo?"

Jiang Tingwan raised her eyebrows.

She raised a sly smile and said in a low voice as she walked out the door:

"Neither of them is my cup of tea."

Jiang Tingwan pretended to be mysterious and leaned close to her ear and whispered.

"I like puppies, you know? The kind that call me sister and are very obedient."

She turned around to glance at Xie Duo's stern profile on the hospital bed, and thought of Lu Zhaoye's rebellious look, and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Do you think they look alike?"

Walking out of the ward, Ruan Yue burst out laughing: "Is this true, sister?"

Jiang Tingwan stretched out his hand and pinched her soft face: "I was just joking, did you take it seriously?"

She rolled her eyes and suddenly fought back, "I want to ask you, what is your relationship with the Si family?"

Ruan Yue was suddenly speechless, and her fair cheeks flushed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Jiang Tingwan rubbed her hair triumphantly: "Good for you, just pretend to be dumb when I ask you."

"Sister, stop making fun of me..."

Ruan Yue lowered his head, his voice was as soft as a mosquito's, and he was unable to speak.

Jiang Tingwan's smile gradually faded, and his eyes became more serious.

"How far have you and him progressed? How is he?"

Ruan Yue's long eyelashes trembled slightly, and her fingers unconsciously twisted the corner of her clothes.

"Sister, please don't ask..."

"Since you call me sister," Jiang Tingwan stretched out her hand to lift her chin, forcing her to look directly at him, "then I must ask clearly."

Her voice was soft, but it was firm and unyielding.

The lights from the corridor outside the ward cast tiny shadows on Ruan Yue's face, making the tips of her slightly red ears particularly obvious.

She bit her lower lip and finally whispered, "He is...very attentive and...energetic."

Jiang Tingwan frowned and was about to continue asking for details when Ruan Yue's phone suddenly rang.

She picked up the phone quickly as if she had been pardoned, and a clear report came from the other end of the phone.

"Okay, I got it. I'll be right there."

Ruan Yue hung up the phone and stood up hastily. "It's an emergency meeting for the project. I have to go back to the company first."

Jiang Tingwan looked at her slightly flustered back, with a hint of relief in his eyes.

Although Ruan Yue never said it, she knew how desperate this girl was in private.

From not being able to understand many business terms in the beginning to being able to handle projects independently now, she knows better than anyone the efforts Ruan Yue has made.

Jiang Tingwan didn't look away until the slender figure disappeared around the corner of the corridor.

She turned back to the ward, took out the tablet from the bedside table, and swiped her fingertips to bring up the quarterly report.

Her profile, with her head slightly lowered, appeared exceptionally calm and focused under the blue light of the screen.
