Chapter 6 The Waterfall Electric Scooter stopped at the door of Lin Jue’s house. Lin Jue…
The electric scooter stopped at the door of Lin Jue's house. Lin Jue glanced at the buzzing machine and looked up at Su Huaiwang.
"Do you have an electric car?" Su Huaiwang asked her, looking behind her curiously.
Lin Jue's villa is similar in style to hers, except that he doesn't have a small courtyard within the fence like hers.
The garage door was tightly closed and covered with dust.
Lin Jue shook his head. The situation was almost exactly as Su Huaiwang had guessed.
Su Huaiwang patted the back seat and said, "I'll take you. The place we're going to is quite far from here. Don't worry, I can ride a very steady bike."
"Aren't they going?" Lin Jue pointed at the two dogs and one cat squatting behind the fence and looking at them eagerly.
"Hmm? No."
If Su Huaiwang was alone, she would of course bring her animal friends with her, but with Lin Jue... she was afraid that the little animals at home would run away if she was not careful.
After Lin Jue sat in her back seat, Su Huaiwang started the car and the electric scooter drove out at a slow speed.
The wheels below were turning, and Su Huaiwang said to Lin Jue above, "It would be much more convenient to have an electric car in the countryside. Going to town to buy things, pick up parcels, etc., it would be troublesome to drive. You can also get one and just park it outside on weekdays."
Su Huaiwang tacitly assumed that there was a car in Lin Jue's garage, otherwise he would not be able to move around in the rural area with poor transportation.
The seat of the electric scooter was not very big, so Lin Jue sat as far back as possible. She lowered her head and looked at the space between them.
Su Huaiwang saw her puzzled expression in the rearview mirror, and a guess emerged in his mind: "Is this your first time riding an electric bike?"
His amber eyes met hers in the rearview mirror, and Lin Jue nodded: "Well, I haven't tried it before."
Su Huaiwang did not doubt the truth of this sentence. She had never come into contact with an electric car before moving to the countryside, and it took her a lot of effort to learn how to ride one.
"Then you can ride on me. The mountain road is a bit bumpy." She kindly reminded.
However, he never expected that Lin Jue's voice suddenly became much higher: "Can I touch you?" There was disbelief and faint excitement in her voice that Su Huaiwang had never heard before.
"Hmm? Hmm? Sure."
With Su Huaiwang's permission, Lin Jue gently placed his hands on her shoulders as if afraid of hurting her. The cold temperature penetrated Su Huaiwang's skin through the thin clothes, causing her to shiver in the summer sun.
"Your hands are so cold."
"I have a cold body." Lin Jue said as a matter of course, his eyes fixed on the place where the two people were touching.
Fine rays of sunlight filtered down through the lush green leaves on the mountain, occasionally falling onto the light-colored hair on the ears of the person in front of me, making time stop at that moment.
Lin Jue doesn't like sunny weather, but now she really hopes that this road will never end.
Unfortunately, this was not a very long road. Even though Su Huaiwang tried to be safe and not drive fast, the electric scooter stopped after twenty minutes.
What appeared before the two of them was a sparkling surface of water, surrounded by low hills. Stones rolled under their feet until they sank deep into the green leaves.
"This is the nearby reservoir. If you're interested, you can come and visit."
Su Huaiwang parked the electric scooter and ran to Lin Jue.
When Lin Jue turned his head, he saw her face was steamed red. Lin Jue took out a piece of paper and handed it to her.
Su Huaiwang took the paper and her nose easily recognized the familiar scent on it. It was the same brand of paper that Lin Jue used to wipe her sweat in the kitchen last time.
She looked at Lin Jue. The girl had a peaceful and calm smile on her face. Her face was still as white as cold jade. She was not sweating at all and was not affected by the heat at all.
"Is it hot?" Lin Jue noticed her gaze and raised his hand to fan her.
The cool breeze hit her face, and Su Huaiwang squinted her eyes comfortably: "You are so cool." She touched Lin Jue's arm.
"Yeah, I have a cold body." Lin Jue still said the same thing.
"Okay, okay, let's take a walk." Su Huaiwang was too embarrassed to have someone fan him all the time, so he started walking after the redness on his face subsided a little.
It was much cooler near the reservoir than other places. The two of them deliberately chose places with shade. After a while, Su Huaiwang felt refreshed.
"Walk from here and head over there, you will see a stream. Walk along the stream and you will reach the village at the foot of the mountain..." Su Huaiwang tried hard to recall this route that she loved most last summer.
"Oh, right," she said, as if she suddenly remembered something and took out her cell phone. "One thing you must pay attention to is that there is no signal here, so be careful."
She took out her cell phone, and a small cross on the signal bar represented their current situation.
"Do you come here often?" Lin Jue asked while secretly memorizing all the information on that page on his phone.
"Yes, I quite like the scenery here." Su Huaiwang put away his mobile phone, picked up a leaf and rubbed it in his hand.
"Isn't it unsafe?" A black line spread out from under Lin Jue's feet, swallowing up the ghosts that were ready to move in the shadows at the bottom of the stream.
Su Huaiwang did not take the sachet she gave him with him. She listened to Su Huaiwang carefully, thinking about something in her mind.
"Well, it is a little bit," Su Huaiwang hesitated, and then continued, "But nothing has happened so far. After all, I usually live with my dog, and I also carry self-defense equipment with me."
Su Huaiwang touched his waist and pulled out a sharp survival knife: "No matter what, it's always more reassuring to have a weapon."
Even in such a desolate wilderness, humans are more terrifying than animals, but at the same time, humans are creatures that bully the weak and fear the strong. Weapons do not have to be highly practical, but they must be deterrent.
The knife in Su Huaiwang's hand at this time was very intimidating.
While retracting the knife, Su Huaiwang suddenly remembered something in his mind.
She felt unsafe even with a dog by her side, and Lin Jue was alone, and she still recommended this place to her?
Su Huaiwang turned around to look at Lin Jue, who was half a head shorter than him, and felt that Lin Jue's situation was more and more dangerous.
She chose her words carefully: "If you want to go out, it would be better to ask me to go with you if possible."
"Are you worried about me?"
"It's just that women living alone in rural areas do need people to worry about them," Su Huaiwang said tactfully.
When she first moved in, Tu Zhizhuo asked her to report in almost every few hours, fearing that something might have happened to her.
Lin Jue smiled: "Thank you, I will remember it."
"I suddenly remembered that we haven't exchanged contact information yet." Su Huaiwang held the phone, feeling a little nervous.
It was the first time she took the initiative to ask for someone's contact information. It was because Lin Jue said she didn't know how to socialize that she tried to be more proactive.
"...Contact information?" Lin Jue lowered his eyelashes, and Su Huaiwang felt a little uneasy.
Fortunately, Lin Jue quickly raised his head, still smiling: "I didn't bring my phone with me, can you give me yours first? I'll add you when I get back."
Su Huaiwang breathed a sigh of relief, but was also a little surprised: "You didn't bring your cell phone?" She thought that cell phones had become an external organ of modern people, and they couldn't live without them for a single minute.
"Not very commonly used." Lin Jue said simply.
Su Huaiwang immediately understood what she meant.
Her parents restricted her. She increasingly felt that Lin Jue's upbringing was similar to hers.
"Then I'll write it down for you."
Su Huaiwang felt around again, took out a notepad and a pen, wrote and drew something, and then handed the page to Lin Jue.
Lin Jue carefully put away the piece of paper. If you didn't know better, you would think she was treating it as some treasure.
I had been walking for a long time without realizing it. The sound of water was getting closer. It was the sound of water dripping on the hard rocks.
They had been traveling upstream along the stream and now they had finally reached the end of their journey.
Su Huaiwang climbed up a small hill, turned around and was about to reach out to pull Lin Jue up, when she saw Lin Jue standing in front of her in perfect condition, with not a speck of dirt on his white clothes.
After taking two more steps forward, a waterfall suddenly appeared in front of them.
This is not the magnificent waterfall in the scenic area, but just a small trickle of water that falls from a low cliff and then gently explodes into pieces on the shiny brown rocks at the bottom.
Although it is not rainy, it is quiet and is an undeveloped natural attraction.
The water splashed onto Su Huaiwang, giving her a cool feeling. She turned around and introduced Lin Jue, "This is a small waterfall. The government uses it to generate electricity, which is why the electricity bills here are so cheap."
Lin Jue nodded, but his attention was focused on Su Huaiwang's lower back which was wet by the waterfall.
She was wearing a simple white T-shirt, and after getting wet, some of her skin color inevitably showed through. For Lin Jue's eyesight, it was not difficult to see that bit of color.
"Be careful," she tugged at Su Huaiwang's sleeve, "Your clothes will get wet and you'll catch a cold."
"Huh? Oh, thank you."
Su Huaiwang turned her head and noticed that her lower back was almost completely wet. She didn't care much about it, after all, it was summer now.
She took a few steps forward to avoid the impact of the waterfall, shook off the clothes that were wet and stuck to her body, and put her warm hands on the cold skin on her lower back, trying to warm it up.
Lin Jue watched silently from the side, the words of help were on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't say them.
She clenched her hands, and her palms felt slightly warm.
Her body could be as cold as a corpse or as hot as the sun.
But Su Huaiwang didn't like her contact.
She lowered her head in disappointment and released her tightly clenched hands behind her.
If it was not in reality but in a dream, Su Huaiwang would allow her to touch him.
Just as she was thinking about this, someone pulled her body.
"You're also soaked in water. Come over here a little."
Su Huaiwang used very light force, and Lin Jue willingly followed her force.
"Eh?" She unconsciously touched the skin on the other person's arm: "It's so hot."
The soft palm rolled over it again.
"Are you hot?"
Su Huaiwang looked at Lin Jue with some confusion. There was clearly no sign of the other person, he wasn't sweating, and his skin was still as white, so why was his arm so hot?
Lin Jue pursed his lips and said, "A little." Then he turned to Su Huaiwang and asked, "How about you? Are you hot?"
"Me a little too." Su Huaiwang let go of Lin Jue's arm. The feeling of interdependence with her disappeared, making Lin Jue feel lost.
"Then let's go back, it's almost time."
Su Huaiwang walked forward, and Lin Jue fell behind her again.
She walked to the small hillside, stretched out her hand to Lin Jue, and smiled shyly:
"This slope is a bit steep, can you pull me up for a bit?"
Lin Jue couldn't ask for more.
The moment their palms touched, a sense of satisfaction that had not appeared in a long time filled their once drowsy brains.
She looked at Su Huaiwang, who had already stretched out his hand to her and wanted to help her get down the mountain, and her stiff heart beat bit by bit.
Many of Zhang Su Huaiwang's faces overlapped in his mind, some anxious, some angry, some resolute, some painful, and some...impatient and happy.
She wants to give this person a lot, she hopes to bring a lot to this person. What should she do to make Su Huaiwang as happy in reality as in her dreams?
