Chapter 04. Thank you, Mr. Yi

Chapter 04. Thank you, Mr. Yi

Yi Lingjia blurted out Ke Fan's name.

He flew towards her, kneeling on one knee in the shaking cabin to catch her falling. He carefully protected her head, but his right hand was placed between her and the sharp corner of the cabinet and was hit hard.

The back of his hand instantly became red and swollen, but he was completely unaware. He just lowered his head to look at the girl in his arms with her eyes closed.

"Oh my God, what happened? What happened to Xiao Ke?" Everything happened so suddenly that Lao Xie didn't see clearly what happened. He only saw Ke Fan falling to the ground and he almost jumped up from his seat.

Li Jing was also startled and came over nervously to ask what was going on.

After Yi Lingjia repeatedly confirmed that the girl in his arms was not injured, he gently stroked her sweaty forehead with his sleeve.

"She must be having low blood sugar again. I have glucose cubes in the lounge."

The redness and swelling on the back of his hand had begun to turn purple. From Li Jing's perspective, it was extremely clear, and he was stunned.

But Yi Lingjia didn't notice anything. He just focused on carefully picking up Ke Fan and walking towards the lounge. He didn't even have a chance to interrupt.

I could only quickly follow up and help make the small bed in the lounge.

Yi Lingjia placed Ke Fan steadily on the bed and opened the bedside cabinet, where a small box of glucose cubes was neatly stacked.

He peeled one skillfully and carefully fed it into Ke Fan's mouth.

The sugar cube melted in his mouth. Ke Fan's throat rose and fell unconsciously, and soon the sugar water was swallowed.

When Old Xie followed in, Yi Lingjia was already feeding the second sugar cube.

Ke Fan's complexion gradually improved, and Li Jing breathed a sigh of relief.

Looking at Yi Lingjia again, his profile was sharp and profound, his eyes were as black as ink, staring at Ke Fan without blinking.

Li Jing's heart skipped a beat, and an idea emerged from the water, connecting all the strange things that had happened before.

He subconsciously turned sideways to block Old Xie's sight. The man guarding the bed noticed his movement out of the corner of his eye and quickly hid his injured right hand in his sleeve.

Warm yellow light shone in the narrow, quiet room. Yi Lingjia raised her eyes and met his gaze. The color in her eyes was too deep, too heavy, like the desolate and endless night on the sea.

Li Jing almost suffocated.

After confirming that Ke Fan was not seriously injured, several people left the rest room.

Old Xie went to find the other people in Oasis to inform them of the situation, leaving the two of them alone.

Li Jing frantically found the first aid kit, looked at the horrible back of the hand, swallowed his saliva, and said in a trembling voice: "Boss, please treat the wound."

Yi Lingjia took the iodine silently, picked up the cotton ball with his fingers, and mechanically applied it to the wound.

A faint smell of medicine filled the cabin and was quickly blown away by the sea breeze, leaving no trace.

He seemed to be wrapped back in an icy shell, his expression became indifferent again, the emotions in his eyes dissipated, leaving only emptiness.

Li Jing almost felt that the deep glance just now was just an illusion.

"Li Jing, don't mention my injury." Yi Lingjia had her usual easygoing smile on her face, but her words were cold and heartless: "She and I don't need to have anything to do with each other anymore."

Ke Fan woke up to a burst of noise.

When I opened my eyes, I was a little startled to see myself in an unfamiliar room.

Then I heard the sound of waves hitting the hull outside the window, and slowly realized that I was on Yi Lingjia's boat.

With his memory broken, he endured the discomfort and answered Li Jing's question. Then he seemed to faintly hear what Yi Lingjia said.

But at that time, my head was spinning, my heart was beating fast, my hands and feet were numb, and then I lost consciousness.

It seems that he fainted due to low blood sugar.

Why did I change places?

No memory at all.

She has always had hypoglycemia, a problem she developed as a child and which has not improved as she grew up.

When she was in high school, she was so absorbed in her studies that she had irregular eating habits and fainted in class, scaring her teacher.

Later, when she was in college, she would often spend entire weekends in the library. However, there was someone who always stayed by her side, carrying candy in his pocket, and she rarely suffered from hypoglycemia during her college years.

Ke Fan pressed the tip of his teeth against the roof of his mouth, and there seemed to be a hint of sweetness that felt reassuring lingering in his mouth, which was so similar to the sweetness in his memory.

She was slightly stunned.

There was a noisy sound outside the window.

Ke Fan tried to squeeze his hands and had recovered most of his strength.

She propped herself up and sat up, and saw the lights of the control center not far away through the porthole.

Reached the shore?

As she moved, the clothes that were originally covering her body slipped to the ground.

A black jacket made of high-quality material.

Ke Fan picked it up in a daze, stroking its slightly cool surface, which still retained warmth inside.

Yi Lingjia walked in at this time.

He wore only a simple long-sleeved sports shirt. The close-fitting fabric highlighted the graceful, flowing muscles of his arms, taut and powerful, the physique of a mature man. A thin rope hung from his neck, its contents hidden within his clothes. It was unclear what it was.

Apparently, he hadn't expected her to wake up, and their sudden encounter caught him off guard. He was a little surprised, and raised his eyebrows slightly, which was the most vivid expression on his face since their reunion.

Ke Fan was still a little stunned until Lao Xie walked in with a look of surprise on his face:

"Xiao Ke, are you awake? Are you okay? How do you feel now?"

Being stared at by two pairs of eyes, she rubbed her head a little embarrassedly:

"I'm much better, thank you."

"That's good, that's good. I was so scared when you fainted just now!"

"Don't worry, hypoglycemia is just an old problem for me. I hope it doesn't cause any trouble for you guys."

Old Xie waved his hand. "It's no trouble. Luckily, Boss Yi noticed you were feeling unwell in time and brought you to the lounge."

"oh..."

Ke Fan had originally breathed a sigh of relief, but his heart tightened again when he heard the second half of the sentence.

Did you bring it here...

How come I have no impression of it?

She frowned and remained silent, trying to recall the moments before she fainted, but still couldn't remember anything.

Old Xie thought she was feeling unwell again: "Are you okay? Our colleagues from the center have arrived. Should we get off the boat later or go to the hospital?"

"No, no." Ke Fan shook his head. "It's okay. I'll just eat something later. Let's get off the boat."

She gently placed the clothes in her hand on the bed and followed Lao Xie out of the lounge.

As they passed by each other, Yi Lingjia heard a very polite "Thank you, Mr. Yi".

Mr. Yi.

He curled his lips.

The back of my hand, which I had been deliberately ignoring, suddenly began to ache again.

All the helpers from Oasis Control Center were waiting on the shore.

Old Xie had already arranged for someone to pick up Ke Fan's luggage at the center and also arranged a vehicle to take her directly to the hotel to rest.

He stood in front of the car and expressed his gratitude and farewell on behalf of everyone in Oasis and Yi Lingjiafang.

"If it weren't for you today, I really don't know what I would do. Thank you, Mr. Yi."

Ke Fan was still a little dizzy, but he held on and stood in front of the car, thanking Yi Lingjia again. He put on his jacket again, covering the scars on the back of his hand with his sleeves.

"Thank you...Mr. Yi, today is really thanks to you."

There was a hint of a smile on Yi Lingjia's face, but the smile did not reach his eyes. His deep black eyes were like an undercurrent.

He quietly clenched his fists, his knuckles already white. The pain from the wound intensified as the fabric rubbed against him.

At the seaside at night, the sea breeze becomes increasingly cold, and a dark, wet and salty smell hits you in the face.

Ke Fan leaned against the car door with a pale face, a faint bruise under his eyes, and he couldn't help shivering in the wind.

"It's just a small favor, please get in the car."

Boss Yi, who has always been very graceful, finally spoke in a calm tone after a long silence.

Ke Fan and Lao Xie got into the car one after another, and the car slowly drove away from the beach.

Ke Fan leaned his head against the car window.

In the rearview mirror, the tall figure stood in the sea breeze for a long time, until it turned a corner and disappeared from view.
